Part 2

Morning..

They called up Samir who referred them to a local specialist and a good friend of his. He arranged for an appointment at the earliest possible. They went to the hospital where the doctor advised a scan and a blood test. But before that he had a couple of questions for them. He started off with, "Are you taking both of your pills regularly?", "I've seen him take only one..", Ragini said and turned to Nachiket.. "Yes, I ran out of the other one before we went to Delhi and I forgot to refill", he said casually.. "Nachiket! you are a doctor, how can you be so irresponsible?", Ragini retorted instantly."Arre jaake laa nahi saka.. I was busy Ragini", "Nachiket tum bhi na.. kisiko bol nahi saktethe..", "Ok ok you two" the doctor interfered, "I think the things got worse because of something else", he hinted. Ragini and Nachiket sat curiously, they couldnt think of anything significant that had happened in the past few days.. "did you do anything that was mentally stimulating, or physically exhausting, that could have caused excitement, like you felt the blood was rushing to the brain. Did you run a marathon, or speed biking or some intense sports?" Both Ragini and Nachiket nodded no. "Did you get physically intimate or have sex", Ragini and Nachiket looked at each other, then "may be once or twice in the last month", Nachiket replied. Ragini looked at him surprised, what a liar he was, they had been into each other almost everyday, since his return, she thought, but she found it would be quite embarrassing to correct him. The doctor continued with other smoking and drinking questions, before sending him for the scan.

After the scan, Nachiket went to get his blood drawn while Ragini waited in the Doctor;s office. The doctor walked in. "Is everything ok?", Ragini inquired concerned. "Yes looks like he is fine", the doctor replied in a rush, before put some papers that looked like reports on the table and running out to attend to a nurse. Ragini eyed the reports, and she managed to read "Refrain from sexual activity for 3 weeks, until next scan" written among other things. She was both surprised and embarrassed. She didnt expect, "That" to be the cause of his pain. Nachiket returned after giving his blood, ensured Ragini that he was fine and the headache had subsided, and settled on the chair next to her, when the doctor returned. "Mrs Khanna, can you wait outside, while I discuss a few things with Mr Khanna", the doctor said and gestured Ragini to the door. Nachiket, said it was fine for her to be there, but the Doctor wouldnt agree to disclose. Hence Ragini walked out, and behind close doors, he revealed to Nachiket that the mental excitement and the lack of medication was the cause of his insomnia and constant headache. He told him about the things not to do, which, among other things, much to Nachiket's disappointment, included refraining from physically intimacy for atleast 3 weeks, until he completes the dose.After signing some papers, he walked outside to find Ragini, who was curious to know what happened. He told her everything except the physical intimacy part, which Ragini knew very well he wouldnt reveal.

They picked up the meds before driving home. They spoke about kids and eating out for Suhani's birthday and other general stuff in the car. There was an odd sort of awkwardness between them, now that they had to refrain from any action that could arouse the other and lead to them getting closer. Ragini, started to think of excuses to avoid intimate moments, as she didnt want to deny him on the face. The guy who was constantly talking about second honeymoon, would not let go easily and if she rejected, he would be pretty badly hurt. "My disinterest would make him feel worse, feel rejected. He would start to think I was avoiding him for some other reason" she thought.

On the other hand, Nachiket didnt want to disappoint Ragini, after all, he had a lot to make up for after the abrupt end last night. "What would she think, if I turned aloof and suddenly stopped being romantic". Another misunderstanding was the last thing he wanted, and distancing from his wife was definitely not an option...

Since they had to go to the doctor early, they had taken very light breakfast. By the time they reached back home, both of them were hungry and Ragini asked Sunny Tai to give them an early lunch. Nachiket agreed. He wanted to take the medicine as soon as possible, already sensing the headache returning. Although he had planned to go the hospital after the lunch, Ragini convinced him to take a nap first.

"You take a nap now. Jab uthoge to hum dono hospital ho aaenge. I'll check with Ranbir till then,"

The fact that he hadn't slept the previous night and the medicine was working, he fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed. Ragini covered him with a blanket and switched off the light. The worry lines were etched on his forehead and that concerned Ragini like anything. She couldn't see him unwell. His health had always been her biggest priority. She wanted her healthy husband back. These headaches and worry lines didn't suit his handsome face. The next three weeks would be very difficult for her. She had to make sure Nachiket didn't feel rejected. She couldn't even stay away from him. His health would be on her mind 24x7. With these thoughts in mind, she went out of the room. Aarav and Suhani were having lunch while Aagham was already done and had gone back to his room. She instructed them to not make any noise, afraid that it might disturb Nachiket's sleep. She decided to make sure the kids were with them most of the time. It would help during the day. But what would happen at night?! They would be alone then.

Ragini was sat reading a magazine the kids were all in their rooms when she heard noise in their bedroom nachiket must be up. He had been asleep for a few hours he looked at the time it was 3pm he sat up he needed that nap his headache was better. Ragini came in "nachiket" he looked up at her and smiled "is your headache better" "yes" he got up "i am just going to freshen up then go to the hospital" "i rung ranbir everything is fine at hospital" "good but i need to go".

He freshened up and came out of the bathroom ragini was sat on the sofa he got a tie out "ragini" she looked at him he held the tie out for her she got up. She couldn't say no otherwise he would ask why. She grabbed his tie and started to do it he pulled her closer "nachiket" he smiled "i am fine don't look so worried" she caressed his forehead "i will stop worrying when the doctors give you the all clear" he leaned in to kiss her she stopped him "shall we go" he raised his eyebrows. "Once u start u don't stop" he smiled at her "wait in the car i will just get my bag"

Nachiket went down ragini sighed these 3 weeks were going to be hard and it had only been a few hours. Nachiket was sat in the car he sighed how the hell was he suppose to stay away from her for 3 weeks but he knew he had to because he could not cope with the pain and he could not see ragini worried about him that hurt him more. Ragini came and sat in the car.
