Ronit Roy
Anil Meraniconnect@absoluteindianews.comAlthough Guddu Rangeela has not done well, Ronit Roy has no regrets about doing this Subhash Kapoor directed project, "I got lots of critical acclaim regarding my rusty character and the way I went about playing it. Also the story and set up was good. Arshad Warsi and Amit Sadh did a swell job of essaying North India based goons. Agreed it didn't do as well as expected at the ticket window, but at the end of the day we artists can only put in our best, success or failure is not in our hands. There are several factors which finally decide a film's fate."Looking ahead Ronit has four other films in the pipeline, he says, "Two are with international directors, I can't give more details, all four projects will go on the floor either this year or first half of 2016. I am really gung-ho about one of them, as the character has lots of meat, also you will see me in a completely different avatar." Although Ugly also did not do well, Ronit is quite happy with the second innings of his film career, "I have just started and have a long way to go. I always look out for interesting and diverse characters like Student Of The Year, Udaan and ?Shootout at Wadala etc." His first inning consisted of forgetful films like Jaan Tere Naam and Tehqiqaat etc in the nineties. He finally found success with television shows such as Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi etc.As far as television goes Ronit informs us that he will soon be part of a reality show, "again I am not in a position to divulge any further details." His other Sony television daily Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar continues. Have the numbers not been on the lower side? "I have spoken to the creatives about certain changes to the script which I feel can help. It is a good show and I am liking the way the overall story of a second chance in love is going." He further informs us that his long standing court room drama Adalat again on Sony has taken a seasonal break since last week, "things had reached a stagnation point hence the production house(Contiloe Films) and channel decided to take a breather. However this break will not be long, we hope to be back in two or three months. The makers want to return as soon as possible as they have lot more of stories to tell." Ronit added, "I am proud to be a part of Adalat, it is feat to last for five years in an environment where shows shut down in six months flat. I got lots of appreciation for my portrayal of ace defence lawyer KD Pathak."
