He is totally responsible.
He never allowed Ragini to interfere this much with his side of kids, but he really gave bad advice to both Nishi and Aarav. Maybe it was unintentional on his part, he wasn't the correct person to offer advice ,s since he himself was no way involved with his kids in US. But he did meddle which ended badly for these kids.
R was too strict with the kids I realise, and she chose to make decisions for them. That was more because she knew that she had to fulfil a Father's responsibilities as well. If R's own father had been alive, she could probably have let her guards down. But with no senior male member in the household, she had to step up to the situation which she did. She had her own set of problems, like any other human being.
Outside the court, N was not happy when R asked Ranbir what was he doing with the gun at the railway station? If he as the Father couldn't even tolerate the Mother asking the son a valid question, how could he then hide such big things about Aarav from R to begin with? The most mind boggling question - how did he not know that Aarav was the event planner for his roka, engagement and probably wedding, if it had happened?
Ragini takes the entire blame for the situation. Even now. In the recap, she tells N, who is unconscious, that it's her fault that Nishi's Father is not contacting with her. It's absurd.
How could a Father not call his daughter back?Especially when he knows her now? If it was after the 15 years hiatus, I would have understood. he was damn here for the wedding.
