Sayantani Ghosh who just entered Sony TV's mature show Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar is quite happy with the initial journey . "It is interesting to play the grayish Nivedita Basu for she is not your normal daily soap character either fully white or black. She is smart lady who wants to enter Neil's (Ronit Roy) life for reasons why which will only unravel over time. He is not someone who will fall for anyone, so she really needs to impress him. She will do what it takes to achieve her ends, even striking good relations with his ex wife (Pallavi Kulkarni) and kids. From her view point, she is right although society may perceive her as the other woman. It was a high for me as I was taken for this role as I don't look like a vamp. There is no over the top dramas which normal negative character's do, but yes I do bring to table a certain amount of sophistication."
Remind her that the show is not doing very well on the ratings front and she says, "I am an actor and I don't really pay attention to numbers, one does not know why shows click? Having said that we need to also accept that most shows on Sony don't do well. But this show has potential for we have great cast of Ronit Roy, Pallavi Kulkarni and Ashwini Kalsekar. Plus we have Ekta Kapoor as producer who had earlier delivered Bade Achhe Lage Hain for Sony as well. I am getting lots of positive feedback for my character on social media as well."
Besides Itna Karo Na, Sayantani is also doing the mythological Singhasan Battisi on Sony Pal. "It is again doing well and is the only show on the channel which is getting traction. What I like about it, it is again different from my previous shows. Over the years, I have always done varied stuff e.g. Nagin, Dare 2 Dance, Commedy Circus, Bigg Boss and Adalat etc."
