Completely agree TM.
I started watching the show for it's novel concept and Ronit Roy making a comeback on TV. I had great expectations from the star cast and the premise of the show. I should have been forewarned when I realized it is an Ekta show. There is no logic, no sense, no story and only OTT dramatics and all-powerful vamps in her shows and leads have no character.
They have a brilliant story line, but they mess it up with so much nonsense and ridiculous plot lines.
First of all, I never could get my head around the fact that both parents NEVER contacted their other kids for 15 years, based on a stupid deal they made. Especially the mother. Also, fine they didn't contact them, but the whole " mere bacche, tumhare bacche" is so wrong on so many levels. At their age (prob Neil-Ragini being 40-45), one would expect more maturity and a sense of parenthood towards ALL their kids, not just the ones they brought up.
Then, when they meet, instead of behaving like mature adults, we see them behave like 20 year olds, trying to outdo each other with jealousy. Fake marriages and fake relationships with other people, just to boost own ego and put the other person down. Do parents of 5 grown up kids behave like this? I had more expectations from Ragini, because she was shown to be a very steady headed person in the beginning, but in front of Neil, instead of letting him see how she has single handedly raised her kids and been successful, she wants to show him that she can be tolerated by another man, if not Neil. Who the hell does that? Their concern isn't around their kids, it's around each other and their perceptions of the other person.
Pam's hatred for Ragini is one thing, her viciousness towards the other kids is weird. They are ALSO NEil's kids for god's sake. Who behaves like that? Nivedita has also come too early in the story line. This isn't Ekta's teenage love stories, but the whole making each other jealous part is so juvenile and so unfitting for parents of 5 kids who are 40 years old.
The way I envisioned the show was about a divorced couple, meeting after 15 years, and a mature development of an old relationship, due to their kids. Even their divorce I expected to be on grounds of two strong headed people, both egoistic, working couple who fell out because of differences. But 15 years later, being different people, they slowly rekindle their love and relationship, and the interactions of their kids who've lived apart. Truly, the show is butchered already and I have no interest of watching it further, as knowing Ekta, it can only go downhill from here.
