Hi Arpita,
Firstly I apologise for not commenting earlier….
I love love love the story and you are a Brilliant Writer! The way you evoke emotions in your readers is incredible…. Every time i read a chapter… i would feel sooo heavy…. Sometimes i would take several breaks while reading, just to gather my self… especially during the previous chapter (chapter 8). I had wept towards the end, after reading khushi’s letter… such is your writing…. You manage to make us feel so deeply for the characters…. Kudos to you….
Now coming to the story, i always had an inkling that Khushi knew about lavanya and more so after reading chapter 8. I guess what changed in a day for Khushi was her learning about Arnav’s infidelity. In Lavanya’s Interlude, Manali says that Lavanya might just get what she wants now…. So i feel it was Manali who called Khushi on her anniversary and told her about Arnav and Lavanya. Not only that, i guess she played on Khushi’s insecurities and told her that she is a misfit in Arnav’s world and that Arnav is truly unhappy with her…. I believe Manali did that after Arnav told Lavanya in the Prologue that his divorce with Khushi doesn't mean that he is planning to marry her…. I guess Manali did this to drive Khushi away from Arnav, because she always knew that Khushi was Arnav’s weakness… i just hope that the version that khushi know’s (where he was sleeping with lavanya when she was in lucknow, that too in their bed) is fabricated by Manali…. If this version is true, then Arnav doesn’t deserve her forgiveness and a second chance…
My heart goes out to Khushi…. Everything that she believed in turned out to be an illusion and everyone she loves have only disappointed her, including her parents! I just want her to emerge stronger and confident…. She deserves happiness! How much does she love Arnav…. The letter gives a glimpse of her immeasurable love and her words - “i love you enough to overlook nearly anything” just shows that all she ever wants is him and only him! But does Arnav really deserve that kind of limitless love? Yes he has accepted his mistake, but can he undo the hurt? Where is the 24 yr old Arnav who was tormented by the thought of losing Khushi? Is he the same guy who was irritated by her mere presence and wanted to leave her…. What has changed over the years to bring about this change in him?
I feel Arnav always has preconceived notions about things and then changes his mind. Be it his marriage with Khushi, when he thought he wouldn’t really like her to later feeling that she made his life better and that he loved her…. Or when he thought that Mahesh was an amazing boss and then resented him later…. Similarly, Arnav thought that divorce was the best solution because he assumed that Khushi was unhappy with him because he didn’t want children…. And probably also because he could no longer stand her for reasons which he can not even recollect now! Now, he realises that it was his biggest mistake…. But alas, it is a realisation too late…. If only he din’t assume things and communicated instead. He knows that Khushi is a sensitive person and doesn’t say anything that might hurt the other person, so he should have been the one to take the initiative and talk to her about how he feels and what he thinks…. Communication is the key in any relationship but arnav seems to go off it everytime there is a crisis in his personal relationships (including his family). Now how is he going to redeem himself and make Khushi believe in him… She was begging him to give her something to hold onto in the letter and he gave her none. Infact, he snatched away the remaining hope through his infidelity and the way he chose to broke the news of divorce….. if he loved her enough, he wouldn’t have discussed divorce with others even before discussing it with her….. he some how fell out of love in his journey to fame and power….
I hope this is the resurgence of his love for Khushi and Khushi’s resurgence of confidence in herself.
Thank you Arpita for writing this beautiful story….. somehow it feels so personal… maybe because i’ve kind of seen bits of the story around me… through this story you are keeping alive two characters that we’ve all fallen in love with 12 yrs ago…. IPKKND was the only serial i’ve watched so far and Arnav and Khushi were amazing! Obviously coz of the writing and of course Barun and Sanaya…. Their chemistry was something else…. You and several other talented writers have kept these characters alive through your writings and are satisfying the fandom who were very upset when the show ended!
cheers to you👏🏻
