And I had imagined many which wayshow Arnav might have cheated on Khushi, but this was the worst possible way! Bringing the other woman home especially where his wife had given her everything to make home sweet home, her devotion towardsthe marriage and its sanctity! Oh my god, this is something so unforgivablefor any woman, how much ever meek she might be… Surrendered Khushi is going to be Arnav’s worst nightmare now… He had gone too far to even make a come back in my eyes!

It would be interesting to know after assuming Khushi chose a kid over him, did he continue with Lavanya? Lavanya must have tried everything to pursue him in last 3 months or Manali’s actions put apermanent dent? Initially Arnav only asked Lavanya to stay low for few daysduring initial divorce application so just curious! How did Khushi get to know, Did Aman tell her or Lavanya / Manali sent her pics / texts anonymously? Waiting for the reveal.. Khushi should let Arnav find on his own and not tell him like last time..

You surely won brownie points with Khushi’s heart wrenching confrontation to Arnav and dialogs were super!

Khushi hurting her own hands to get rid of other man’s touch versus Arnav getting the other woman to his homebelittling his wife! Stark contrast, Khushi, the epitome of loyalty versus Arnav, the despicable betrayal!

Khushi even now can choose to studyor do something on her own to come out of these feelings and be herself! He is not worth it! She hasn’t realized her potential; she was able to walk away from Arnav with her head held high, showed guts to face Shyam after tramatized past with him, stood up to him and rejected him on his face! Bravo…

Now that she is back in Mumbai, shehas other ways to live life which will be less pathetic in her own words…

- Swati

Thanks a lot Swati. Much love ♥️♥️♥️

To be able to write Khushi’s feelings in this chapter became actually tough for me. In my head, she was trapped in such a hopeless spot that I was unable to find words and sentences. I have deleted and rewritten these paragraphs more times than I have ever done. At one point I was drawing from own experiences, and friends around me. This chapter was as hard for me as writing Darmiyaan’s end.

As I said to Raji, we will soon get what gaooened with Arnav and Lavanya out of the way. How Khushi found out is most likely the next chapter. I don’t promise things in advance because at times I feel like writing about their past is more important. But yeah, all these answers are just around the corner 😊

The contrast between Khushi’s reaction to Shyam and Arnav’s dalliance with Lavanya as you pointed out, in my head just cements how far away they actually are. Emotionally. As many readers pointed out, the distance doesn’t even seem conquerable. If I can be honest for a second and give my personal opinion away from the story, even I don’t think it is.

I agree with the last point. She has better options in Mumbai. Question is, does she have the willpower and means to do it. As she said, the families now think they’re working on the marriage while this time, she is okay with the facade. She even said to Arnav she will manage Lucknow. The only thing she had indirectly hinted at, is that she is no longer willing to work on this marriage.

As I read the title, I was thinking it was so apt for Arnav. He realizing his mistakes, his love for Khushi, he would finally go and talk to her. But by the end I was crying.

How will it make a difference now. Khushi is so broken. Her self esteem is so low. The entire Shyam episode, I was feeling so angry that it made her feel so helpless, caged. She was so tired fighting all the sick mentality, her own pain. Her unsuccessful attempts of making her parents understand her. And lastly feeling like a burden and not finding love and care where she craved it.

It broke my heart when she told her mother that everyone just assumed she would be happy to go back to her husband and she didn't have a say in it, even now. Her refusal to say goodbye to her parents and lastly when she told Arnav that she wasn't anything without him by her side. How small and insignificant she sees herself. She was even choosing to go back to her previous life just bcoz she didn't have anywhere else to go to. That is just so sad and infat.

And she knows about Lavanya. How, doesn't even matter. It must be so painful for her.

It's so late for Arnav to realize his mistakes. I don't know what or how he will do now. I just wish that with time Khushi learns to be confident, and happy with her life.

Brilliant writing Arpita.

Shereen….thank you love ♥️♥️♥️

Yep, Arnav may have all the shiny armours and the world’s possessions at his feet to save Khushi from problems, but he, by no means, is her perfect knight.

You’re right. Till now every reader was concerned about Khushi’s heartbreak regarding Arnav. I am so glad with this chapter all of you focused on just how broken Khushi is after all this trauma. I love how the primary concern is for Khushi to find strength in life rather than for Khushi to find Arnav. This observation makes me really really happy 😊

It’s time for Arnav to use that sharp brain of his and realise that maybe his fears were true. Maybe he really is too late.

This chapter to me is about women. It is about a complete breakdown of a naive, loving trusting person. We need to learn life lessons but one wishes that this is not how our beliefs in our loved ones ,our values are shattered.

I would not in my wildest imagination predict the sequence of events of this chapter. It does fit the characterization, the enviornment and story progression. 🥰

You have amazingly build up Khushi ultimate breakdown.

Right from the day spent with the entitled Shyam, his physical manhanding to get Khushi attention, then his ultimate weapon that 29 year old woman behavior will be reported to her dad!

The old men of the village with the dicta of right moral behavior for women..to call the panchayat for her public humiliation..adds to her distress. Rubbing a pumice stone on her wrist to rid of the sleazebag touch.

Khushi had cometo Umanagar to her loved ones after Arnav filed for divorce..with a belief that this is her "home".

Arnav arrival is like the messiah for her family. No one asked Arnav why he filed for divorce or why he wants to work at his marriage. The ultimate betrayal they just sent her back with him.

"Today, I realized, Arnav, that my life and I are worth nothing if you are not standing by my side."

One wishes no one should feel so alone and hopeless but sometimes that is needed for us to rise and live again.

Coming to she knowing about Lavanya and the affair. Few more lessons of life for the successful, powerful, very astute Arnav.

Beware of a scorned woma(e)n and be careful of the company you keep.

My guess had been after Arnav discovered the torn note..he will ponder who gains if Khushi does not fight for their relationship.

Manali always gets La what she wants..so to me somehow she or her minions told Khushi something on their anniversary day.

This additional information about their affair seems new. Maybe they contacted her..send her pics. it is half truth. But they have outfoxed him and two can play game of revenge. Hurt where it hurts most.

Do they manage to salvage their relationship..to me it really depends on what was wrong in it and can it be salvaged. They do need professional help and it is more than Payal and Akash.

Thank you for an amazing chapter..enjoy the wedding festivities Arpita

You show the mirror to a society formed around patriarchal norms and steeped in misogyny. One where women are more often enablers, Shyam's mother is one such example. Where a few men have power over many, and dictate how women should behave, what exactly their roles are. This is not the olden days, this is the now and here, if the news about khaap panchayats are anything to go by.

I didn't comment for the last chapter, my friends said all I had to say. We wondered why Khushi put up with things, why did she even take the decision to meet Shyam, when it was clear that her gut feeling was to have nothing to do with him. Which proved to be correct. I don't feel any sympathy for her parents, at times it is necessary to stand up for what is right, whatever the cost. I know it is easy to say that, but I don't get this defeatist attitude. Maybe its my privilege that makes me blind to such things.

So like some of us were thinking, it appears that she knew about his thing with Lavanya. It is not going to be easy for him. Whatever happens I hope she gets to make the call about her life.

Your story makes us feel a plethora of emotions, reading it is like been on a roller coaster. My heart feels heavy today, weeping for the sunshine girl who feels she has been let down my all she loved and adored in her life. She has no more safe places left, somewhere she could run to in times of trouble. How sad that she feels her very own parents don't have her back? And man she loves, who is now here to safe guard her, has betrayed her and robbed her of her sense of trust.

Why did khushi never removed sindoor and mangalsutra when she was aware of his betrayal? It is clearly said that she just don't want to work on this marriage then why did she never parted with the marital symbolism??

About update,it was simply superb and felt to cry along with khushi when she remained so helpless.None of the family members asked her what she want rather they were thankful to arnav for his arrival...khushi remained as a lonely soul without anyone to back her and devoid of a safe nest to lay...that was a heart breaking juncture....and she knew about La.From here what is next remains really will be nail biting to read esp about La & arnav.

Yep. A very strong point. Women like Shyam’s mother, who clearly know their precious sons are in the wrong, are the enablers. She’s definitely the reason that a young Shyam was a hoon and a grown up Shyam is an entitled a hole.

Parents and society are a weird thought experiment to me and over the years I have pondered about this topic a lot. I get it. Sometimes I think that if a couple in a situation like Khushi’s parents, choose their daughter and revolt against the very society, what do they have left in the end. Life is supposed to move forward. Their child will ultimately move on and go away. In Khushi’s are they could let her work as she wanted. And they will end up having not only an unmarried, alone daughter for whom they will not only be worried till their last breath, but they will also lose the social security that being in a community actually brings. They’re not people who can just uproot everything and move away just like that, even though it was something Khushi’s father considered once. In that context, I can understand their reaction to Arnav.

Is that right? Absolutely not. In an ideal scenario, the society shouldn’t bug Khushi, or any other woman who chooses to live her life without a partner. But unfortunately, we don’t live in a world like that.

I would have also wanted Khushi’s parents to have a bit more empathy towards Khushi’s mental state. I get it they’re worried about her future, but it doesn’t take away that she was vanishing in front of their eyes and they thought the only solution was a man. Arnav or otherwise. But I’ve seen far too many incidents like this one. They just had to be these grey characters who are trying to do good and in the process, ruining everything

Thanks so much for the kind words about the FF. You guys are just the best!!! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰

thank you ☺️ 😊😊

Good point. Khushi comes from a world that is way more conservative than the one we are used to. I don’t think she was ready to part with her marital emblems just yet. She had also mused and had gotten worried about Arnav when Shyam mentioned Mamta’s death. As much as she has been hurt, she had not been able to part ways with her values which have been instilled in her since childhood. Even Arnav thought that she may not even believe in the concept of divorce.

But she did agree and left him, and kept following her duties from far away. She may still consider herself bonded to him by a pious bond, but she’s been hurt pretty badly. Losing parents support might just be the last nail in the coffin. Let’s see how it unfolds :)

Thank a lot 🥰♥️♥️♥️

Yes, as much as this chapter was about Arnav coming to terms with the fact that he has made a blunder and he terribly misses his wife, the essence of it was all Khushi’s PoV.

She’s shown signs of giving up almost all this while. She had been vehemently against the idea of Shyam and still gave in for her babu Ji. Meeting him did not give her any solace, in fact she was more agitated with his mother too. During this entire ordeal, the only thing she had a control over was her connection with Arnav. She was still hurting, possibly in love with him, but the woman had enough dignity to walk out and then break the contact completely. This was the only time she was a little assertive, when she told her bua ji to never ever call Arnav.

And that has been taken away from her right after Shyam put her in such a situation and a Panchayat meeting loomed over her head. Her parents wasted no time. I responded to another reader earlier about what I genuinely think of her parents actions.

Any person, even as giving as Khushi, is bound to snap then. She had refrained from talking about Lavanya for so long but finally blurted it out. At one point, the feelings are filled to the brim and you have to let it out. Did she choose the right person in Arnav for her breakdown, the story will tell.

And yeah, they do need professional help if they want any sort of reconciliation 😅

Dear Arpita I have been reading here and elsewhere the discussion after the orevious chapter.Very emotive. So much has happened in the last chapter.Khushi manhandled by SJM and the village panchayat to decide the fate of Khushi as she was seen frolicking with a man in the grove.I wonder if Shyam went to the village elders and told them to hold Panchayat and force her to marry him

But she was saved by Arnav who came like a 'knight in Shining Armour' and carry her away back to saftey.Well he is that saviour in the eyes of Khushi's parents.

In the time when they separated Khushi realised that she is nothing without Arnav . Arnav told her that they will attend the marriage council and try to work things out but for Khushi it is too late. She cannot forgive him that everytime she went to Lucknow to mend relations with his family he brought Lavanya to their marital home and bed.

She is ready to stay there but not with him.

For Khushi the marriage is over and no counselling is going to help. What will Arnav say to her now?

Thank you Arpita.Enjoy the weddings and see you in 2 weeks time.

I am looking forward to all the comments by my friends and fellow readers.
