And it then occurred to him, that if not for the safe haven that this office was, he had nowhere to go, not even his home, given her presence.It had been an extremely tedious task to live through the nights, with her around him. And yesterday was no exception.

Feeling claustrophobic, more defenceless in the present situation, he decided to seek help from his very trustworthy and steadfast protege, Akash Garewal, who stood a few feet away from them, monitoring the proceedings with his hawk eyes. It took him a second to get into action, just when his mentor gestured towards the agitated old man, who was still busy reading the content aloud.

And the carefree giggles that had once filled his being, rang in his head as if he had been living in the moment. The peals of laughter, chuckling with joy and the happiness of living without abandonment cocooned his forlorn being.

And despite the circumstances that plagued Akash about his employer, he felt his heart go out to the compassionate and loving young man, who had not wanted much from life except love. But of course, fate had other plans.

A warm welcome to all the new readers here. Thank you for your presence and interest. I see this is our first journey on a fanfic together and I do hope to leave you all spellbound with the stories to follow. And a heartfelt gratitude to all my readers who have taken time to read and comment for WA. Thank you.

I hope the pointers address some of the confusions/ queries, once and for all.

1. WA doesnt update to a schedule, since I am already involved with my other on-going projects, along with the publication of Wedded. But I do update diligently and you can be sure of that. So expect the update from a week to two, anytime.
2. I have been told that the satire narrative of WA has been welcomed and much loved wrt the subjective narrative of Wedded, and so I am not looking at increasing the length of the updates, let alone reworking the narrative, or changing the undertone of the updates. I hope that is not debatable anymore.
3. The chapters go through four levels of Editorial Assessments before they are published online and offline weekly/ bi-weekly. Certainly there are critics involved, who know where the story is headed and what should go out in each chapter. We are catering to a large section of offline audience and the online mediums too. But, there are parts of the story that I don't agree with while the chapters go through Editorial Edits. However, letting the better reasoning prevail, I go with my gut feeling because I trust what I am doing, I trust the team and I am writing and presenting the story because I felt the readers were mature enough to handle subjects that delved into varied hues of human psychology. And I would really appreciate it if you all can patiently and respectfully give this a fair chance, please.
4. While the story is not a business journal or a mini dictionary, there will be ample use of business jargon while portraying the professional aspects in the story and vocabulary to bring out the best in the updates within a short and crisp outline. You can always read comments, read my reverts, read quotes in the beginning of the chapters and get the requisite help. I do revert to each and every reader, but I am being cautious to not put forth any clue that will divulge the story-line. I hope you can understand my predicament.
5. The problem with an on-going story is that one needs to be more patient and less assumptive while getting through the updates. Hence, jumping the gun with assumptions, like Arnav is cheating on La with Khushi (in case he acts on his attraction) or Arnav is cheating on Khushi with La( the case of the ring), are absolutely baseless and redundant for the simple reason that you dont know what is on my mind and how the story will unfold. Also, I mayn't condone cheating or even write about it, but its very real and there are people who write or read about it. That said, Wretched Affections is going to have monotones of genres overlapped, the story is complicated, and it needs a thorough reading of all chapters to get a hang of it. The story will have mature content and the protagonists will NOT be goody-two-shoes, walking out from the Bible. The protagonists are both flawed and there is going to be a backlash from them both. So if you are looking at a happy-romcom sort of a story, this aint the one. It is a satirical episodic, that focuses on dis-equilibrium of life, both professionally and personally and it maybe unsettling at times. And this is what it is because I am not going to change it. But I promise to give you a story that in my critics language is, STELLAR.
6. It is the festive season and with the travels and guests, I assume most, if not all, readers would be busy. Keeping that in mind and because the story is still new, I will be leaving the chapters open for a while. However, like Wedded and keeping in mind the upcoming publication and to avoid plagiarism, I will be closing the chapters in a bit. I cant point out a day or time for its closure now, but once I feel the story has got its cumulative readers, the chapters will stand inaccessible. Typically chapters are open for a week and then they are locked down. Regular readers who miss out on a chapter or two, can touch base with me and I will help them around, anyhow. However, for that one has to be a regular reader.
7. Pls note, your likes, following the blog, sending me buddy requests, silently reading the chapters, will not make you a regular reader or give you a place on the private blog where I will be shifting WA, in a bit. The story is still new and hence, its accessible. But the old readers will vouch for the fact that once I close the chapters, I will NOT open them for anyone, whether you are a new reader, an old one, veteran or anyone. I did this with Wedded, knowing very well that I am declining a chunk of readership, and I will do it with WA. So if you miss this story, for whatever reasons, please feel free to buy the book when its up and out. But if you stay put, pls take a few seconds and drop in a word/ line/ anything to let me know that you are reading this.
