But glad that she did the lists, it should help her get over Aman that much faster. When khushi looks at cold facts & realises that she really had nothing in common with the asshole, she will be forced to think about why she turned to Aman and hopefully that will lead to a lot of other realizations.

So like Khushi was wondering, does the great ASR regret how he reacted to what was presumably a declaration of attraction/ love/ infatuation by Khushi? Which pushed her into Aman's arms? Does ASR beleive that he was responsible for the two being together so in a way he is responsible for Khushi 's misery? Or does he regret not being in Aman's shoes? Or both?

Love both the lists!

And what's with the cap?

And now that I have eaten humble pie( in my earlier comments), I must confess I like this crazy Khushi!

Thanks for the detailed and awesome review!

Loads of good questions, hopefully you will find the answers to them soon :)

I told you that there were more layers to Khushi than what it seemed initially! Glad you are now enjoying this Khushi! :D

EDITED:

Ok, after reading all the comments so far, I see everyone is wondering about the dream, what it stands for and if Sheetal is making an entry soon. I can't say anything about Sheetal's future presence in the story but I can for certain say that - to me - the dream represents Khushi's fear. She has started liking Arnav again, being attracted towards him again if she wasn't already since ever. But being betrayed by Aman, the man she believed she loved and was to marry has planted a seed of fear deep inside her which will always be there now. The fear is being cheated on.
After being asked by Arnav if he had a chance, she's forced to rethink, reconsider whatever happened between them and the recent days, his supportive manners. Who wouldn't like that? She's obviously pushed towards him deep in her heart, and after the question by Arnav + thinking about their past again, her unconscious mind is is forced to think of her and Arnav together, no matter how less the chances are but it's worth a consideration, right?
Now next comes - what if she gets betrayed by him too? What if Sheetal (she's representing a second woman here - it musn't be her always but as far now Aman had betrayed her with Sheetal, so she is the one associated with betrayal for now in her mind) again comes between her and her man? Her unconscious mind is acknowledging these facts. She's scared of being cheated and hurt again. And her dream is a result of this fear.
On the one hand Arnav - the man she loved first pushed her away from himself in a rude and harsh way which led her to make herself hate him! On the other hand another man whom (she believed) she loved cheated on her, hurt her in a way even harsh words can't.
Now combine these two. She gives Arnav another chance despite being hurt by him once already, but this time he too cheats on her, hurts her more than his harsh words ever could. Her deep fear.
This is my theory. That's how I'd decode her dream.

As to the Saree - I think all the commenting readers collectively had concluded after the first few chapters already that the Saree Aman presented as his art was actually designed by Arnav, just as he lied about the cap being his...or had she just assumed that it was Aman's cap? But about the Saree, we all knew already after the first chapter that it is certainly designed by Arnav and not by Aman. He had lied to Khushi. Even about him lying to her - different theories we're presented about it that time.

What I just now think about is, could it be possible that Arnav had in his past a relationship with Sheetal? Although I doubt it, and to be honest I don't actually remember anymore if anything was said about Sheetal and Arnav sharing a past or anything. They were just classmates I guess.
But if it would be revealed that Arnav did share a past with Sheetal, then it would again put Aman into the bad light. Not because he was cheating on Khushi with her only but because the person he chose to betray Khushi with was Arnav's Ex. And if you put one and one together, then we van conclude that both Khushi and Sheetal were associated with Arnav in a romantic manner - which would imply the impression that Aman was deliberately doing this. Considering he chose to go on with the marriage despite having started an affair with Sheetal, he intended to hurt the girls and by that Arnav. His real target was Arnav and he used both of the girls for some sick game he was trying to play with Arnav. But that's just a thought which requires that Arnav shared a past with Sheetal and Sheetal didn't know about Khushi.

And about the lists, its scary to see actually how Khushi was actually about to marry a man like Aman. Not because she didn't know him or that they didn't share any mutual interest or habits, but because she had been so blind all that while. How couldn't she notice all these things before already. I don't know if anyone agrees or not but Aman in this story appears to be the Shyam of this story. He's double faced, cheats and lies to people very close to him, frauds them and yet they never notice it. They never notice what a douchebag he really is because he has created an all goody goody and charming impression of himself in front of them. It's frightening to actually admit that such people are very much real, even outside shows and fictions.

And the list with Arnav, well, at least she's acknowledging all of his positive things too. Including his bedside manners which implies an impression on me that whatever happened that night, it wasn't just a matter of a little while, of an hour or two, it was more. She was lying in his arms, she saw his bedside manners - if I'm not misunderstanding anything - and it has to be long enough for him to actually ever have a chance with her. According To me, that night is only so special and so much mentioned because that was the night their quarrel in a way we witnessed started and they parted as lovers if it can be said so. It already had started on the night of La and NK's wedding even if without or very less progress.

Now the question stays what actually happened that night, to what an extent did they both go in their relationship and what's the matter worh Khushi and her family.

I am waiting impatiently for the next chapter.

I do love the essays you write for me 😳😳😳 --- and it's such a shame that I can't reply back to it properly and have a discussion with you. So once this story is complete, I promise to come back to these reviews of yours and Pooja's and talk to you guys about it!

No reason for me to hide the fact that you have pretty much decoded the dream correctly. It does feed off of Khushi's insecurities and fears---though entirely subconscious as I don't think she's realised that she has this deep-seated fear inside of her just yet.

And I'm going to mention this, only because I am not revealing anything new, it was in Chapter 8, Sheetal is Arnav's ex. Make what assumptions of that as you will.

Haven't we all met that one girl though? Who is completely blinded by love, who fools herself into believing that this was the guy for her that despite what any of us (her friends, family) tell her how wrong he is for her, she refuses to see it. This is usually the case with some women who are trapped in emotionally or physically abusive relationships---they find reasons to stay with the guy because they don't know any other way, or they hope that the man they're in love with changes, or they think that things will improve or that they will be the one to 'fix' this guy or they just don't want to admit that the guy is bad news. In this story, Aman is not abusive but that's even more of a reason, I think, for a girl like Khushi with evident family issues---no one but her best friend to rely on---to fall into this net of safety that Aman offered her. To think that she has found all that she was looking for---simply because she didn't know better.

Now that there is separation, she isn't living under the same roof as him being suffocated by his charm, knowing of his infidelity---she is forced to be objective and through her lists she has shockingly discovered how wrong he had been for her and as she admitted, how blind she had been!

Not too long for Chapter 17, I'm writing is right now. Should be up when you wake up!

Ok, so here I am with my analysis. I am so sorry that I couldn't be able to comment earlier.

Chapter 15: Arnav and khushi's convo felt very real. It was the much needed thing we have been looking forward to in order for them to break the hard shard of ice between them. Aman and sheetal both have been addressed, so there won't be any major bone of contention the next time these people are brought up in their topics. I have been trying hard to find out any other proofs of arshi's supposed one night stand. And I'm only getting more and more certain with each update. Have always felt that there must have been some hot attraction brewing between the two starting from the first. Exactly when it happened, I am not sure, but it must have occurred somewhere in the week after the three of them first met at La's wedding. Aman must have already told arnav that he liked khushi and was planning to ask her on a date. That's why arnav must have cruelly distanced himself from her after supposedly spending the night with her. His question about whether he stood any chance with her, only shows that it wasn't just a momentous night of lust and passion. It was something more serious. And that mutual attraction was perhaps addressed by both of them before, during the time they spent that night. Maybe in states of extreme drunkenness. But arnav's rude behaviour later on had damaged their entire equation.

Pari is right in mentioning that aman really is like that snake shyam. Just like him, aman knew how to make people fall for him, and either hide his flaws or make people be indifferent towards them.

Chapter 16: That was a fun chapter! Khushi and her list! Haha, it's only from her list that she has now become more coherent of how wrong aman had been all along for her. So, she concluded that it was not entirely arnav's fault that aman was all involved with his work. He himself was a workaholic. In one of the earlier chapters, aman did try to save arnav's image by saying to khushi that he too loved his work or something like that, when she blamed aman's inability to spend time with her on arnav.
And the list on arnav? Well, I must admit that that you dear writer, have given such a delicious characterization of our hero, that I can't help drooling on him. The list only goes on to show what a remarkable specimen of a man he is. How can someone overlook such a person for someone like aman?

He had good bedside manners.
Ok, I was confused about its actual meaning. And this is what i got:

"The ability of one to cope with the abrupt surprise the morning after interaction with a female, whom the night before appeared to be quite striking and statuesque, but now appears to be repugnant, uninviting, and reminiscent of snuffaluffagus."(Urban Dictionary site)

One example will be when someone flees or avoid the scene after finding out that he/she spent the night with someone resulting from a drunken night. It means having total disregard for what had happened before. So, arnav also did something like that. And this is what khushi meant by bedside manners perhaps?? My assumption is that either both of them or at least arnav must have been totally drunk when it happened, and so carried it out. In the morning after, he remembered aman mentioning that he liked khushi, and then his callous behaviour of ignorance followed. I can't go on to say that arnav shouldn't have done that, or even khushi shouldn't have done that, if this happened after aman's confession. Because, in this story it has been seen that almost all major characters, including arnav and khushi have their own set of flaws. They are not the goody-two-shoes kind of fairytale characters. So, I will refrain from trying to see them spotless and putting them in frames of complete white.

Anyway, I think arshi has shared a very uncomfortable equation whenever they have been together during the khushi-aman courtship and right after his death. So, it mustn't have been a small incident that happened between them. It definitely must have been something intense and complicated, something which had the potency to shake their relation to the extent of bitterness.

And that mysterious cap again made an appearance in her dream. I totally agree with pari that the dream is nothing but a consequence of her insecurities and fear which aman had left in her.

Looking forward to the next!

Don't apologise, life happens! I understand that writing long reviews for fan fictions is low on the priority list when life gets in the way---and as it should be, to be honest!

But it did put a smile on my face when I saw your review, so thanks for taking the time :)

Yay, for real convos! I'm going to admit something here, I take a lot of inspiration for the setting, scenery and mood of the story from my own personal experiences lol! Like being up on the roof, being handed a jumper and the emotions attached to this haha ... I suppose that's what makes it relatable? I don't know. It's tough to write in first person and write about emotions and feelings without injecting your own personal experiences and expectations into it.

Like I said to Pari, there are so many parts to this review that I would love to dissect and discuss, however cannot due to the secretive circumstances of this plot. But once I complete this fiction, I promise to come back and discuss some points that you have raised as they are interesting!

I hadn't originally intended for Aman to be characterised similar to Shyam---but now that you both mention it, I can see why you would associate them both to be similar personality types. It makes sense.

@bold, I do love this characterisation of Arnav too! 😭 Why doesn't he exist in real life? Despite his obvious flaws, he is a bit of a prince charming, isn't he? **Drool!**

I'm just going to say this: Urban Dictionary is not the most reliable source for definitions in this case.

But you are entirely correct---no one in this story is white...they're all grey characters but I think that's what makes them so interesting to read about! No one in real life is a goody-goody, we all feel envious, irrational anger, pettiness, glee, love, lust etc that's what makes us human!

Oh, I am wrong then. So, bedside manners is just in the literal sense. Well, on other sites, its meaning was related to a doctor's treatment of his patients, and in urban dictionary it had this other weird meaning. Hmm, so it has nothing to do with how he reacted the next morning.

How could I forget that? Sheetal was arnav's ex! It raises another question..was that the first time that aman met sheetal at Massachusetts? Was sheetal involved with aman even when she was with arnav, leading to their break-up?

Now that Kitti confirmed about Arnav and Sheetal, you think Aman was doing this deliberately? Getting into a relationship with girls Arnav has a past with. Aman was t that Great of a friend and a person as we can see. He lied to Arnav and Khushi, his other friends so easily and in a way manipulated Khushi against Arnav maybe.

I doubt Aman was very well aware of Arnav and Khushi's night or whatever they shared. Maybe he was jealous of Arnav and wanted to have everything Arnav has/had, which would explain that he started an affair with Sheetal and was going on with the marriage with Khushi. And Aman lying to Khushi about the Saree Arnav designed didn't go well with me that time too already.
Aman must have been jealous that Arnav is so perfect, looks good, has money and fame, has designing skills etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if later on Arnav discovers some kind of loopholes in AR finances caused by Aman.
