Part 3

He reached the mansion the next day morning.He didn't inform the Raichand family about his visit.He was feeling very hungry and asked the locals whether any hotels were there.There were no hotels but only small shops.He decided to buy some eatables and when he was approaching a shop nearby Garima came there to purchase something.She was surprised to see him there.

Garima:Arnav beta,why are you here?

Arnav:I came to see the mansion I bought last week.Garima didn't ask which mansion.

Garima:What are you looking for?

Arnav:I..I actually was trying to buy something for breakfast.

Garima:Please, beta,please have it from our house.Please come with me.

Arnav:No,aunty,please.I don't want to trouble you.

Garima:No..It's a pleasure.Please.

Arnav went with Garima and he could hear his heart beat as he was excited to see Khushi.They talked on the way.

Arnav:Aunty,Who all are there at home?

Garima:My daughter Khushi,my sister in law Manorama.

Arnav:What is your daughter doing?

Garima:She is doing graduation in a near by college.

They reached the house and Garima unlocked the key and opened the door.

Arnav understood that Khushi was not there.

Garima:Khushi went to college and Manorama is with Rajeshwari.Beta,please be seated.Breakfast will be ready within a few minutes.

Arnav could feel her perfume which evoked an intense desire to see her.The living room was very neat and tidy.He looked around the room .There was a table and a chair near the window.Some magazines and books were kept neatly on the table.And beside that there was a beautiful photograph of her.He took it in his hands and stared at it.He took his mobile and clicked at the photo.

He moved near the window.He could see his mansion through it..

After a few minutes Garima served him breakfast.

Arnav:Food is very delicious aunty and thank you very much.

Garima:It's my pleasure.

Garima: Beta,are you going to Dhyan's house?

Arnav:Not now.later..Bye aunty and thank you once more.

Khushi was very shocked to hear that Arnav came to her house .She could feel the smell of his perfume. She sat near the window and was thinking about him. She could not believe that he was in his house. What is his intention?

After returning to Raizada house,Arnav asked Aman to start the renovation work on the coming days.

Aman:Did you meet her?

Arnav:No..but I went to her house with her mother.

Aman:You are shameless..

Arnav:After renovation, I will spend my weekends at the mansion.Please arrange two or three staff always there.

Aman:Arnav,yours and the Raichand family will be annoyed if they realise your true intention.

Arnav:I don't care. I have not married Ananya.I'm not their slave.

Aman:But you are going to marry her know?

Arnav:Not decided.

Aakash was amused to find Arnav with a set of binoculars the next day.

Aakash:Binoculars?

Arnav:Yes, so that I can have the beautiful view of the village from my mansion.

Aman said meaningfully:The surroundings are very beautiful and your bhai is mesmerised by it.So he is going to spend his weekends there.

Akash: good idea!I'll also come with you.

Dhruv:me too

Arnav glared at Aman:No...I want to be alone.

Dhruv winked and said:We understand your real motive.

Arnav didn't reply.

One month passed by.Raj(Arnav's lawyer) was waiting in the living room of Raizada mansion for Arnav.He heard the clink of bangles from upstairs on the left side.He looked up and saw Asha, Arnav's youngest sister,standing there giving flying kiss to him.He was totally embarassed and afraid.He was looking around and saw Arnav coming through the opposite stairs.He at once stood up and after a few minutes left with Arnav.Asha sent messages of love to him and he could not concentrate on what Arnav was talking.Arnav glared at him .

Arnav:What's wrong with you Raj?

Raj:Nothing sir.

Arnav:Is something bothering you?

Raj:Nothing..really.

They went to the office and Aman joined them after sometime.

Aman:Arnav, the coming Sunday,myself and Pooja plan a get together.Please join us.Raj, you also please join.I'm going to invite Aakash, Sruthi(fiancee of Aakash),Druv ,Anjaly, Shyam and Asha.

Raj:I'm sorry.I've some other engagement.

Aman:Just be there,after that you can attend the other programmes.Raj left.

Arnav:Aman, the renovation work of the mansion is almost over.I'm going there today.I'll return only tomorrow night.Please don't mention to anyone where Iam.I just mention that I'm going for business .

Aman:How will you manage alone?

Arnav:I'm not a small boy.

Aman looked at him keenly:Arnav, I hope that you are a gentleman and will remain so.

Arnav smirked and kept quiet.

When her Amma was in an afternoon nap, Khushi started her wandering through the woods .She could see the local people sitting in front of the long verandhas of their houses and chatting.She walked further and stood near a small stream .She could see the old mansion just opposite of where she stood.The baba in the mansion loved her as his grand daughter.He died in the last month and his children were going to sell it.She had no idea that Arnav bought it.She entered the court yard of the mansion and walked through it enjoying the chirping of birds from the banyan trees .The place was very familiar to her since childhood.Her amma always warned her not to wander here and there alone.

She entered the large hall which was beautiful with elaborate wooden columns and carved screens.Suddenly she heard a car stopping near the entrance.She felt afraid and hid behind the huge door and watched.She tried to scream but sound died in her throat when she saw the person coming through the front door.Her hands moved towards her lips.The memory flashed through her mind.He was coming near by. She closed her eyes and prayed.He entered the room where she was hiding.He walked past her and began to climb the stairs.That was the opportunity for her.She fled with all her strength.He suddenly turned as he heard the sound of Payal and saw her running holding her skirt.He was quicker.He caught hold of her before she could escape through the front door.She screamed and struggled to get free but he picked her up in his arms and took her to a room nearby.He laid her on a couch there and looked deep into her eyes and asked:You know why I bought this mansion?

Khushi was trembling with fear.She found her voice.

Khushi:Don't touch me.Go away.

Arnav:This is my house.He whispered:I bought it to be with you,to see you.

Khushi:This is madness.

Arnav:Yes, Iam mad about you.

Khushi:You are going to marry Anu and flirting with me?

Arnav:I'm going to marry you,not Anu.

Khushi was shocked.She rolled her eyes.

Khushi laughed.She said: Now I'm very sure that you are mad.

Arnav was very angry.He shouted:Arnav Singh Raizada never begged any girl to marry him.

Khushi:We don't know each other.We met only once.How can you offer marriage to a stranger?

Arnav:The day we met,the moment I kissed you ,I realised that you are meant for me.

Khushi blushed and was embarassed.

He bent to kiss her but she pushed him away and ran to the door.He was quicker.He caught hold of her and closed the door and pressed her to the door and looked deep into her eyes and slowly kissed her eyes.His eyes went to her lips.But he saw fear and helplessness in her eyes.So he immediately released her.He whispered:You are mine,mine forever.

Khushi's eyes were filled with tears:She whispered through tears:Don't play with the emotions of a girl and please don't come near me anymore.I love Rajeswari aunty and family very much.

She fled from there.

Arnav was disturbed and irritated.
