------------------Chapter-4------------------{5}

These are Khushi's anklets.

Arnav stood up as his heart beat quickened and he took a step near the lady.

"Khushi" Arnav whispered and he thought maybe he heard the lady's breath get hitched.

He took a step more near her and placed his hand over her shoulder as he came in front of her and his eyes grew wide in shock. Was he dreaming? Was he imagining? Was it real? Was she...?

The words dried in Arnav's throat as he stood their unblinkingly staring at the lady in front of him who is surprisingly none but his own beloved wife who was announced dead by the doctor months ago. Arnav felt sensation in the pit of his stomach as he stood there analyzing the situation. He was still unsure of the lady in front of him to be Khushi.. His Khushi. If she is Khushi and that too very much alive then he was sure to sue the doctor for being careless enough to announce his wife dead.

"Khushi" Arnav whispered once again as tears rolled down his cheek pushing back all sort of thoughts but only one thing mattered to him and that was that his Khushi is very much alive and safe. She isn't dead as the doctor had announced her to be.

Arnav looked at Khushi who was equally pleased to see him and had continuos tears rolling down her cheeks and disappearing in her pink colored salwar suit. Arnav's gaze moved all over her contemplating of his next step but his mind was gagged.

He just want a confirmation that the person in front of him is his Khushi and none of his hallucinations. Arnav sank down on his knees and without a word more, took Khushi in a tight embrace. He din care if she was for real or his stupid crazy hallucination but all he cared was for, he is selfish and he can't stay away from Khushi even in his dreams or the worst nightmare too.

Arnav felt his T-shirt at the back crumble a bit and he tightened his hold around Khushi as he felt her shaking knowing well she was crying just like he was. They weren't the tears of sorrow.. They were of happiness... They were of hurt.. They were of pain.. Pain of separation...

Arnav closed his eyes as he sighed in relief. His Khushi was with him.

He didn't want to break the hug but the shriek left by Payal and Anjali caught him off-guard and he felt Khushi squirm in his hold.

Payal and Anjali who had seen Arnav's absence were worried for him and so had gone in search of him when they came across the shocking yet surprising site. Their Khushi... Their sister was sitting right in front of them all well. She wasn't dead. All these months they were crying over Khushi's death but she was alive. They had questions buzzing in their minds. Khushi had to answer many questions. But it wasn't the right time.

Payal & Anjali walked hastily towards ArShi and kneeled on front of Khushi not at once noticing her sitting on the wheel chair. They just hugged Khushi to their heart and she's tears while Khushi responded the same emotions. They had a happy reunion. Happiness had once again knocked the doors of Shaantivan. But was it all? Was it the end? Do they know all what had transpired in Khushi's life in these past months? A big hell NO!

Khushi was happy.. More than happy. She had been craving to go to her family and hug them and satisfy herself that she has a family who will support her. But the fate had something else written in her life. Khushi smiled tearfully looking at Arnav, Anjali & Payal.. The three special ones for whom she lives. Khushi's eyes stayed fixed on Arnav who had his eyes only in Khushi. Arnav tried to give Khushi a small reassuring smile but failed miserably as his insides swirled with all sorts of emotions he felt.

Payal & Anjali who noticed the silent exchange between Arnav & Khushi asked them to go home. They knew there were questions to be answered but that could wait. Every damn thing in the world could wait except taking Khushi hone rather she gets invisible into the thin air.

Arnav and Khushi were left alone as Anjali & Payal sprinted towards the family to share the happy news. There was an unusual & weird silence that had thickened the atmosphere between Arnav & Khushi. Khushi din dare to look up in Arnav's eyes anymore while Arnav stood at his place looking at Khushi with love filled eyes along with questions that started popping in his mind as he thought rationally of Khushi. But all could wait. His Khushi needs to be taken home for now.

Arnav took a step forward to Khushi and lifted her up in his arms as he heard her gasp and look at him with her big doe eyes. Arnav started walking towards the group of the little kids and passed on the ball to Sri who thanked him but just looking at Khushi with all her innocence in eyes. Arnav promised to come & meet her soon and then walked towards the car.

Placing Khushi safely on the passenger seat, he occupied the driver's seat. Khushi's breath hitched & her eyes went wide as she saw Arnav leaning a lot close to her. Khushi shut her eyes tightly as her right hand clutched the salwar at the place where her heart situated. Arnav stopped and drifted his eyes to Khushi who had her eyes closed and was taking deep breaths to calm her rapidly beating heart. He smiled a little only for it to change into a smirk as he saw Khushi open her eyes & look into his eyes. Time had as if stopped for both of them. They both kept looking into each other's eyes only to see it filled major with love. A lone tear fell from Khushi's eyes and she averted her gaze from Arnav knowing well how much her absence had affected him. He has grown leaner and his eyes are hollow. She felt guilty & was unable to look at Arnav. Arnav leaned more and took hold of the seat belt. He fixed it securing Khushi and once again looked at Khushi who had clutches her salwar and once again had her eyes closed. Arnav leaned in once more and kissed Khushi's left cheek while his hand rubbed the tear off her cheek and he whispered in her ears, "I hate seeing tears in your eyes Khushi"

Though not first one.. I'm glad I'm still in the first page.. 😛

Every time I start reading your update na Baccha? I have to think about the words in dictionary to use for you which yet didn't roll out of my mouth. You have such a passion for writing, and it shows in every of your word.

Usually though, the updates with no or very less interaction causes a boredom to readers. I don't blame anyone, it's how the mind works. But in this update, it was so delightful to read it. I have never felt the lack of interaction through out the update.

The feelings of Arnav were very beautifully written. His happiness on seeing and getting his Khushi back in life, the anger on the doctor who dared to lie to him, the confusion on what had really happened, everything was perfectly blended in explaining his thoughts.

As for Khushi, she is nervous? Why? She is happy too seeing Arnav after such a long time where they've spent apart from each other. But what is the reason behind her missing out? I clearly remember you saying there are no villains in the story. So going by it, did Khushi herself disappeared due to the accident or something?

I had to smile at Anjali and Payal's reaction. Getting back their sister had elated them and it was shown though brief but perfectly!

Waiting to know this now... What is the reason behind Khushi's disappearence? That's the only question I have now in my mind...

Finally, Arnav got his Khushi back!!

Waiting for the next Baccha!
