"Alvida Amma, Buaji, Babuji... Apna khayal rakhiyega..." {Bye Amma, Buaji, Babuji... Take care of yourselves...} Said Khushi hugging them with her moist eyes while Arnav joined his hands in front of them bidding them adieu.

Arnav and Khushi walked towards their car and placed their bags in the back seat as Khushi snatched the key from Arnav and occupied the driver's seat.

"What the!" Arnav uttered as he saw Khushi take up the driving seat. He shook his head hopelessly and walked the other side to sit on the passenger's seat.

"Khushi first put your seat belt on" Arnav ordered her while Khushi made a face and looked at him

"Rehne dijiye na Arnav-ji. Dekhiye abhi toh kaafi raat ho gayi hai toh zyaada traffic bhi nahi hota... Aur upar se hum aapki tarah ootth jaise nahi hai toh Hume aage acche se dikhta bhi nahi.. Pls.." {Leave it na Arnav-ji. Look now it's too late night so there won't be much traffic... And I'm not like you tall as a camel so I can't even see ahead properly... Pls..}

"Khushi... It's not safe... Please.." Arnav pleaded his stubborn wife to understand who agreed reluctantly and put on the seat belt before starting the car.

The car jerked as Khushi tried picking up the car's speed.

"Dammit... Make it slow Khushi... Don't push so much of the accelerator.. Yaa.. That's better... Keep up with the same speed..." Arnav taught her while Khushi with her left hand saluted him and said, "Yes sir. As u say"

Arnav had been stubborn on making Khushi learn driving the car. He said that if she knew how to drive, she could go anywhere anytime she wants and doesn't have to wait for the driver or Arnav. So here it is... Khushi is learning how to drive the car with Arnav being the teacher.

Khushi had worn a beautiful embroidered salwaar with the mixture of light and dark blue. She looked heavenly in that salwaar with her hair open. Arnav saw Khushi fight with her hair fringes that came in her view while driving. Arnav smiled at his crazy wife and then tucked the hair fringe behind her ears brushing the back of his hand to her skin.

Khushi stiffened feeling Arnav's closeness as he leaned towards her and whispered, "You are beautiful"

Khushi closed her eyes for a split second and again opened them being reminded that she was driving.

"Arnav-ji please don't disturb me... I'm driving..."

"Yaa... So drive... When did I stop you?"

"Offo! Arnav-ji please... You know I'm still learning... What if I lost the balance?"

"You are scared a lot Khushi... Main noon na... Main tumhe kuch nahi hone dunga..." {You're so scared Khushi... I'm there na... I won't let anything happen to you...}

"Woh toh Hume pata hai... Par aapka kya? Agar aap Hume bacchayenge toh aapko kaun bacchayega?" {That I know... But what about you? If you'll save me, then who'll save you?"} Khushi asked trying to sound sarcastic.

"Mujhe..."

"Leave it Arnav-ji... Please let's not talk about it..." Arnav understanding Khushi's fear for him tried changing the topic as Khushi once again focused on driving.

They were on the old highway which usually was less used, when suddenly Khushi's eyes widened. Arnav seeing her scared form looked ahead to see a speeding truck coming towards them. Both of them were too horrified to think anything. The road was very narrow and hence not at all a chance to give way to the truck at such a high speed with which it was approaching. Khushi turned the wheels towards the left trying to avoid the accident but alas! It was too late.

The truck was too fast and it was too late to turn the wheels. Even while trying to turn the car, the truck hit the car making it fly and drop hard on the road as it rolled a bit and then finally turned into ashes.

Arnav groaned in pain with his eyes still closed. He heard the car rolling and felt the heat of the flames. He so wanted to open his eyes when he heard Khushi whimper but he was too hurt to open his eyes.

On the other side of the road laid Khushi flat on her stomach. She groaned in extreme pain as she opened her eyes hearing Arnav's painful groans. She needed to be with him. He is in pain. She can't leave him like that.

Khushi tried getting up but dropped herself down drained from all the energy of her body. Somehow she managed to lift herself a bit and found Arnav lying on the opposite end of the road. She, painfully, crawled across the road to reach her husband. She had by then started crying heavily thinking herself to be the reason of Arnav's condition.

"Arnav-ji..." Khushi tried speaking while her voice came out in tattered whisper.

"K.. Aah.." Arnav tried speaking but couldn't bring himself to even utter a word.

Khushi started crying harder seeing Arnav 's condition. He was weak. His face was bleeding, he had a few scratches across his face and some over his limbs.

Khushi knew she had to be quick. Arnav was diabetic and a diabetic losing so much blood isn't good for him. Khushi searched his pockets to find his mobile in a bad condition. She was helpless. How can she call the emergency? She didn't have any means to save Arnav.

Khushi patted his cheeks to wake him up, "Arnav-ji... Arnav-ji... Please apni aankhein kholiye..." {Arnav-ji... Arnav-ji... Pls open your eyes...}

Arnav tried and tried harder each second to open his eyes but always ended succumbing to the pain. He has been trying to open his eyes since the time he had heard Khushi scream while they were hit by the truck. Slowly, he lost all his energy as he welcomed the darkness to engulf Jim not before he heard a soul-riping scream from Khushi and then all went blank.~*~*~
