Raindrops falling, close proximity, hands held, tender smiles...so close, yet so far from each other.
Not so easy to put the tension aside and neither is the dilemma each is burdened with.
Arnav with "what salve do I apply" and Khushi with "what salve can help my hurting heart".

What thrills me in this chapter is Arnav's continued introspection and realization about the pain he has caused Khushi; his helplessness about what to do; his easy thoughts of retreating to be quickly replaced by his promise to never break her trust in him again; his effort at controlling his impatience and being understanding of her unreasonable procrastinations. Arnav is in love, but more importantly he is understanding what "love" means.

"Let's make enough happy memories to help us live thorough the painful ones". I am so happy he said this instead of "Let's forget the past...".

"I'd always wanted to kiss in the rain"..."I wasn't always this grim old soul I've become now, you know..", he said lightly but his voice trailed off with a faint tinge of melancholy...
Made my heart hurt & soar; he is finding himself again slowly.
In the past I have said that in his quest to slay Khushi's demons he would also slay his own.

To err is one thing, but to own up the committed errors, to introspect oneself from deep within and to make resolutions not to make the same errors and finally work towards positivity requires lot of courage and I love Arnav for this.

How many men in this world can do this? Most of the people are either defending their actions or not acknowledging or accepting that they have wronged. But this man not only accepted his mistakes but blames himself for all the sorrows Khushi is facing.

I hope Khushi realises that "To err is human but to forgive is divine" and I hope she lets bygones be bygones and agrees to start their life all over again/
