At first i also used to thought that it was khushi, a small town filmy dream girl story, then it turned into Arnav Singh Raizada story and then the story of their unqiue nameless love. Actually the story of simple khushi evolve when charismatic and imperfect ASR cross her path which shook her every notion and belief and test her and then she also did vice versa and had equal impact on Arnav life. There lovestory wasn't a conventional one and Gul khan made it sure that is why its start, especially first 50 episodes, which are unmatch.

hi javeria... thanks so much. lovely what you say.

the most usual yet unusual love story i think of it as... because it was specific, about khushi and asr, not just every man and every woman... nothing was generalised in the beginning... only later, they started to make it conventional...

and i do think, barun with his spectacular looks and acting made the story more asr oriented unlike any of our tv serials, even the most popular love stories. the more i look the more i feel his connect with the audience tailored and crafted the story slightly differently from what might have been thought initially.

i think most television drama is evolving work and nothing can be totally water tight... very intersting this medium.

must be a heck of a challenge to write a really good drama series.

episode 9

while watching the episode this morning, it struck me that this was really khushi's episode, wasn't it? it was all about the girl who had walked into a house by mistake and gotten left behind in the bakri ka kamra, while bakri s(also known as evil sorcerer who can change the side entrance to his room into a bathroom and make swimming pools and rooms and other things fly, especially dupattas)🤣 was not around.

yes, that bundle which i couldn't figure out, wrapped in shiny tissue, was perhaps a metaphor for her... a bundle of all sorts of mad fun things and a bit of sadness, plenty love and cheer, extreme darti hai par karti hai, inimitable sanka, a willingness to be good no matter what and believe the best of people, fanciful imagination, a girl with many facets almost all endearing (though she could be stubborn as h too and sometimes unthinking) and one with dreams, even if it were of a laad governor who had to be vanquished with derisively flung cold hard cash.

this was her episode and sanaya was absolutely wonderful. (she was indeed) have i ever seen such a host of expressions on any face and not felt it was overacting? khushi went through many emotions today. and i was with her all the way when she heard "arnav" and instantly felt something but then that awareness found a comic outlet in her lovely gesture as she made another mistake and thought chhotey was this little boy, chhotu... i grinned. her why are my ears ringing with that awkward expression was classic. she was a fey creature. not really a perfect fit in a big city among the wealthy and yet she did fit...

but iss pyaar ko became the love story of arnav sigh raizada and khushi kumari gupta in the truest sense thanks to the incredible chemistry between the bakri and the potli. and it presented perhaps the only really stunning male protagonist my tv has ever seen. actually, why tv? asr is asr, no matter where and which screen.

iss pyaar ko was initially called vaidehi... definitely the story of a girl... a fairly sacrificial one i get the feeling. thank g for sanaya irani and barun sobti whose fabulous acting and extraordinary vibe took us far away from that rona dhona achhi ladki bahu beti come let's all weep together comfort zone of indian television.

couldn't agree more. I didn't know Sanaya Irani before this TV show and since I discovered her have to say that I fell in love with her (well not literally I prefer man 😉) but she is in my POV the ultimate goergeous and talented actress among nowadays bollywood actresses a fey creature indeed, she can deliver in such unbelievable way shifting from hilarious moments (I laughed my head off) to serious dramatic moments (where I ached for her) and it was never too much you never feel her overacting (unlike many famous bollywood actresses), never funny to the point of ridiculousness and never dramatic to the point of becoming bothersome, it was just the perfect dose.
I can't picture anyone else in the leading role other than sanaya and Barun, thank god for them, otherwise IPK wouldn't have been the same.

hi anabrissa,

thanks. i too met sanaya irani here for the first time and i absolutely agree she is better than most actresses i see these days. love her way, her grace, her voice and that smart intelligent acting. she is one of the rare ones with that sense of comedy of hers, great timing and such beautiful handling of moments... imbues character into everything. yeah ipk would not be a show i am still watching minus those two. perhaps the most powerful jodi i have ever seen.
