As asr said "kya kya karna pad raha hai".. what all he had to do to bring her home.. as a fan/ viewer i will do what all i need do to, that is sit through the rituals that were not necessary in the first place, to see both these on the same page.

Ofcourse for me the essence of IPK will ALWAYS remain the first 200, until they both screamed "i hate you" on that pool side...and some where there my love story drowned...taking me along...

words to the effect... rushing through my mind, excited.

they both were so good and she later, in that yellow saree walking up to dm, angry, hurt, a young girl with absolute faith, a woman taking birth in her... just one shot i think, yet so much in sanaya's whole demeanour.

was just chatting with cyn on my epi 2 thread about this nature of love business, the need for hate, perhaps defilement, even if unintentional, in it.

indu, that i hate you is to use very young language, epic. no wonder we all sang and danced and sounded crazy while discussing it.

the one thing that always made ipk work for me was that despite all hindi serial dizzying additives, it felt real... utterly. the man woman thing felt right, and love... at last something that delved into the very nature of it without assuming silly things or being afraid to just go right in and check it out.. i love that understanding of love in this story... and of course, that two fine actors, both exceedingly good looking and in perfect sync, their chemistry stunning, were telling me all this just made it perfect...

if i liked kidnap it was because there continued to be an understanding of this real emotion at one level. though yes, that khushi shyam thing was bizarre... again trp being its main quest.

yet that first time she acknowledges her feelings... that sensing of each other, racing into his arms, the growth of trust beyond material proof... the hut, the telepathy, clifftop... i connected many times during that phase.

khushi seeing him being carried away and not falling apart... actual exploration of khushi's emotions... they missed many opportunities i agree.

for me i felt that finger on the pulse thing vis a vis an emotion right up to august 1, even if i had started missing many things and coherence of story telling was a major issue. the contract thing, for example. after the first august fight which ended so thrillingly, we should have seen that resolving in some way. but nothing. it was as if a curtian were drawn and when it lifted, i was seeing a different ipk.

yes, dadi has a lot of deadly asr, yes remarriage has tonnes of sexy asr khushi moments... but i felt my story had ended, that exploration of a feeling i missed.

came through on a couple of occasions... asr defending patni's status, place. his beautiful suhag raat and terrace madness, and episode 248, farmhouse, a moving acceptance and submission, i even loved the black saree dance, something intimate and asr khushi there.

but other than that... not really my thing. if anything, it made khushi's character feel weaker than it was. episode 2 shows a girl with an inner strength and the complete steel of the innocent, loving and pure hearted. she could hold her own even in that chaotic situation she found herself in... and walk out despite everything, get back home on her scooter and face everyone, say what she had to even though her heart was messed up, her emotions and sense of being in disarray. to settle those she made jalebi later. this is no ordinary character, cutesy little girl. somehow sanaya made everything that defined khushi valid and painted a tough smart clean unbelievably cute girl. and one surprisingly strong (minus big bhasahan a la hindi shows if i may add).

even on the night when he married her... such poise, such beauty and strength. i never pitied her, i felt for her and admired her.

so the night she leapt out of bed and declared her marriage was not real though five minutes ago she was his patni... something broke in my heart... this was surely not the girl i had seen before. there were many ways to write that rejection by her on suhag raat, i can't really like the way it was done.

if they had no real story to tell, bringing her back with him from gh and resolving the contract issue and ending with a beautiful little ceremony with asr khushi notes... like kangans, the letter from maa, stars, dm and just the family would have been good i think.

the khushi i knew would never ever not give respect to and accept a wedding performed before dm, whether it's legally valid, socially ratified, conventionally beautiful or not. in her heart she'd never be able to not abide by this marriage of hers, exactly as she wasn't.

actually nothing after this point worked for me... that mother's garden especially irritated. so saccharine sweet. the idea was not bad, but can't say i like the execution.

anyway, we are going back to the beginning soon... yay.
