I have to say that whatever little they showed of him in those times of kidnap was really good to watch - different - almost as if some distance from the daily grind of shooting for the show had brought a subtle newness, an awareness of another kind in the portrayal, and a subliminal genuine "missing" (or maybe that last bit was just my imagination)-- i felt it all the way through the track. And however silly the means, this particular "track" had an objective, i felt...separation of lovers so they realize what they have with each other. Even though when i first watched i had no idea that the real objective was to fill time till his return... but then by the time we got to his kidnap, i had given up on trying to make sense of things...i was hanging by that fragile, gorgeous dori alone...waiting for them to come together and feel each other in ways anew.
Distance, they say, can be magical in love...so true that. And most certainly for arnav and khushi...
And the "conversation de telepathy" blew me away... my sun moon and stars it was, in those feverish, sleepless hours of watching one epi after another and waiting for them to reunite..
What didn't work for me - the maudlin khushi.

Ze sanak is seen in varying degrees in ladkis on this forum. It is seen at a greater level in one ladki in ze Singapura, where a heightened state is reached at the witching hour. Issk, absolutely agree separation is necessary in a love story for emotions to peek.. Kidnap track indeed worked until their first union, in the hut.. Later one month it felt deliberately dragged.. But yes viewers knowing about the unavailability of the actor may have seriously impacted the way they perceived it.. that it was an intentional filler effort.. Even that way first one month worked beautifully.. after that is when the offscreen matters were discussed as much if not more than the on screen.. focus was not on the story anymore ..

sometimes I wish I didn't know anything off screen and just enjoy what's shown on screen.. I am sure that would be bliss..

But when Khushi's finally saves him the second time, replacing all that oil wth water.. The minute he realized it could only be Khushi who would do that.. Khushi kumari Gupta Singh Raizada.. The smirk on his face...million bucks.. Aankhen tho taras Gaye the tab tak..
