Kate, Sohara, Indi, Issk, About those ride ons and linens

For me, bike is NOT a thing for ASR...just accepted in Indi's story.. may be he is too hot inside out, carried too much of an aura... that it felt like getting diffused on a open vehicle.. and bike is too youthful I thought.. too carefree.. ..not him... his youth is in his confidence, success, energy, raw passion he exuded .. and for me bike certainly wouldn't work for ASR-Khushi type romance...

Again, 3 piece suit is what defined him for me.. loved loved him in those ...inspite of those flabbergasting polyester shiny ones...perhaps it is to do with Barun's otherwise too boyish looks if he is not in those formal pieces... yes that white did wonders...it may have to do with the time it was used a lot as well.. Payash wedding.. flirty ASR.. who can resist?? but can watch him for ever in those blue and light purple shirts (bed break, "hum tho aap hi ke hain" times) under that blazer.

But the man in 3 piece suit driving that SUV.. my quintessential ASR!!! Miss him!!

yes that man... saw the suit vm? love suit, love waistcoat. in that black shirtleeves too, but always with a suit in the offing. aye hai.

okay, horizon, point taken about bike. no bike for asr. thanks for accepting that in my story... but yes, that bike as i took pains to explain, came later, when he felt he could give vent to certain things.

what a man. where is he.

issk,

i read your note on safed and kurta not right, and remembered writing something about my love of white and hate of that kurta during the crooner days. i also had been delighted at the way he said stupid in that epoisode... "stoopid" not "stewpid", basic and just that way, just like me. stoopid. i like.

okay here it is:

this post is dedicated to a man i adore and a kurta i did not.

time i got some dislikes and tamatars and jooteys and stuff. good for the soul.

seriously, i am a white addict and i could die of a kurta od. grew up in delhi during the guru kurta days, hep girls wore khadi, silver, and kolhaps (lingo from merawala purana zamana), handsome men wore khadi kurtas with chang pyjamas, usually at home, often white. or, i still remember falling flat for a friend of my uncle who arrived in his beetle in shocking pink khadi guru kurta and jeans. 40 odd years, still the pink looks cool.

i spent the better part of my twenties and thirties in khadi kurtas and shalwars. short, solid shades, loads of whites. still have some stacked in my cupboard a la our man. our reasons are different, that's all.

so. if he wore a white, plain, simple, sexy, long or short khadi or linen or fine muslin kurta with narrow pyjamas and glided down those steps in slow motion, i'd be dead and not posting.

embroidered kurta in unknown material just doesn't do it for me. or for this man's sense of fashion. i adored him in weird purple, because it was true to this guy's ishtyle. but yeh bilackbuster surprisiya, kuch flat fall kiya.

of course, he didn't buy it, his di did. and her choice is what it is, but surely she knows humarey chhote's tastes, or does it not matter?

ps: i just noticed the cuff with wide bead jhalar. someone really doesn't know her brother, does she?

Wanted to share this brilliant write up by Ipoona about their colors popped up in a discussion on another thread, .. thought this is relevant here as we celebrate the festival of colors... Arshi Holi!

Onto colors again ... Finds her in his closet ... Red ... Teri meri ... Green ... Another first ... Non compliment compliment ... Yeh rang tum pay ... Don't you love him and want to smack him at the same time ... Forced wedding, red blue ... Red green ... Kidnapping rescue ... Red ... Hut near consummation ... White ... His private suhag raat ... Red pink ... Their consummation ... Black ... Wedding day ... Hated the outfit, too much fabric ... Too much jewelry, Pink, Gold green ...

But THE moment ... His second turn to stone, spellbinding moment... Photo shoot ... Red ... I keep repeating he fell in love the first instance he saw her ... But that moment can only be acknowledged once they are at peace ... Like maybe at the consummation ... Or maybe years later ... But the photo shoot is an immediate, instant, undeniable, admitting ... Never backed away from. He never ran away from his desire ... He is overrun by it ... Hates his lack of control ... But enjoys it ... Caressing the pearls ... Thinking about the first dark encounter ... Her in the red sari ...

Red, is sort of set up as a signal for us ... a color of his passion ... Desire... was presented that way ... She wears red ... Office store room ... Closet ... Return to RM after bandage engagement ... Dress up at La's engagement shopping spree ... A sort of dialing the clock back to its original spot ... Return to base ... It ties the story telling ... Won't say every ... But after each major conflict ... Her return to him is in red ... Like a thread that ties her to him ...

But does he not desire her in green ... In her yellows ... He can't keep his is hands to himself at Teri meri ... Khar that is another ... His dream Teri meri... White and blue ...

Like I said I have no point to make except agree that red was used as a highlighter ... A code for his want ...

But he desired her in every color under the sun ... He wouldn't have cared if she came in a drabby brown ( I love brown by the way ) But the story telling ties it to his memory of the girl in that red sari ... The one who stole his breath ... So it was important she wore red that day ... But would the scene be any less powerful if she had worn the blue ... Maybe not ... But maybe would have lost that one layer ... One tie back ...
