Secondly Khushi being the sanskari girl knew about all the rituals of marriage etc . She always knew that how she got married to Arnav and was fine living with him in the same room. So why all of a sudden one find day she realizes that her wedding is incomplete and needs to perform all the rituals. She did not want to consummate her marriage as they had not done Saat pheras. You know what is funny that they do actually consummate before they got married. To me it seemed that she would have been okay with her once he tells her that he is doing all these because he loves her. Also note, that she also voices her feelings only after he blurted them on her face.

Well I am few of those people who didnt wanted remarriage track.. but then .. lets me give it a try... I believe khushi was with him in his room as his wife.. They were married and indeed staying together as husband and wife.. At that point of time.. you can call it compulsion due to her sister..or clause that she wanted to just go away when 6 months are over as per their contract.. It was against her beliefs...but indeed it was contract between them... however.. when they stayed together...they came close... and khushi had trust in him...trust which he keeps too by not coming close to her... However when everything is sorted ...misunderstandings cleared..shyam thrown out...and they coming together... I think whether it was nani or dadi who points out about importance of pheras in marriage...Then she realised...that they didnt have one...for the girl who has deep faith in rituals... this seemed an important one...which might not approve their relation in eyes of God..

Welcome to yet another edition of Reflections, Q & A day today ... first of all thank you guys for ur kind comments & encouragement to all the writers here on DC .. Most of us are first time writers .. & the encouragement we receive here pushes us to stretch our boundaries.

As promised on DC 93 ... SuperMom1 .. here is my take to the queries u raised .. Must say the queries were fantastic ... I hope I can do justice to the same with my take ..

Supermom1's Query 1:

After the kidnapping when Arnav calls for the first time and tells her "I love You Khushi" Stop crying I am fine. At first Khushi is shocked on hearing that and then next she thinks is that something is definitely not right, as ARnav said those words to her. Did she really believe him when he said that after what had transpired once she found out why he married her? He does ask her how did she find out that all was not well with him, when she first discovers him.

My Take:

Lets first retrace the call ... by the time Arnav calls .. Khushi is already antsy she knows something is not right with him .. she knows he did not board the London flight .. & she knows he did not make contact with anyone in London .. she has a frugal message from him .. of his reaching ...

Now the message is her first indication something is not right with him ... cause ...according to her the way they parted the last person he would send a message to would be her ... & not a single mention of Anjali in the same ...also they were never shown to have that kinda relation.

Finally when he calls ... & the phone is finally in Khushi's hands .. just like without Khushi vocally sobbing he knows she is CRYING ... Similarly without him uttering a word she can read his distress

OK OK .. lets explain this a bit better ... go the second mehendi during the second shaadi .. Khushi is mad with Arnav .. & NK plays messenger between the lovers ... he hands over the phone to Arnav & says speak to KHUSHI .. they both just keep looking at each other ... they don't utter a single word but the message was received ...

These 2 if they can sense each others presence when in the same vicinity .. they can surely pick on each others moods ... eg .. during Khushi's post kidnapping return to GH .. Arnav senses all is not well with her .. & keeps reassuring her .. I am with U.. tell me whats wrong .. .but she refuses to divulge ...

Now for the main I love You Khushi ...

Ok lets retrace Arnav's steps before kidnapping ... Just before he leaves for Check in at the airport .. He asks her a Question ... "Tumhe Kyon Farak padta hai" & she replies ... " Baat aapki hai isiliye Farak Padta hai" ... finally the answer he was asking from so long back ... he gets .. yes IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE .. YES SHE CARED .. This was KHUSHI saying ... I LOVE YOU ... ( please note once again unlike what most thot it was Khushi who makes her feelings clear)

Now note when does she say this ... she is in extreme distress .. the love u is her last ditch attempt to hold on to him .. what's more its her PARTING gift to him ... he was going away from her .. she does not know when he comes back what will happen to their relation ... she does not know if they will be together .. she does not know if he will trust her .. she does not know if they will meet again ...

& so she tells him .. the one thing he wanted to hear ... FARAK PADTA HAI ...

This was the doobte hue ko tinke ka sahara ...

Now lets take Arnav's call ... is he not in the same position .. he is kidnapped .. he is being held captive forcefully .. his family is not aware of his being kidnapped .. meaning there has been no ransom demand ... he has no clue if he is going to make it out of there ... the one person he had hurt in his life ... was KHUSHI ..the one person he had loved in his life was KHUSHI ... That person as he was leaving for this mission .. said ... I LOVE YOU ... those were her last words to him .. is it not fitting that his last words to her would be ... "KHUSHI I LOVE YOU" ...

Both of them were flirting with this FARAK PADTA HAI forever ... Khushi only agreed to say this ... WHEN IN EXTREME DISTRESS .. it was coerced out of her .. due to her complete inability to convince him ... she read his SADNESS as well in the airport ... SO while she was saying the answer to the question he always asked her ... she was communicating her DISTRESS TO HIM ... But whats more SHE WAS TRYING to ASSUAGE his Distress as well ...

Which is mirror reflected by Arnav ... when he calls her .. while at one end he is trying to assuage her distress which he can feel .. on the other end .. he is communicating his DISTRESS as well ...

Now about belief in the Khushi I love U ...

Lemme ask u a ques ... did she need the " Khushi I love You" ?? Did Arnav need the " Hum bhi aapse Love you dammit?"

Nope .. words were never needed between these 2 ... they both know the other loves .. that belief shakes & rattles some .. but deep down they both know they love each other .. its an acknowledgement which occurs between the 2 on Diwali .. on a deserted pool side .. when he makes her wear that payal & then attempts to kiss her ..

Ok OK .. eg de doon ... Khushi is banished back to GH by wicked dadi .. Arnav recalls all the problems & insults he has dealt her .. he comes to GH & apologises to her ... she cups his face gently & says ... u don't need to apologise .. ur love reflects in ur eyes ...

Did u never wonder why in a love story .. there is NO I LOVE YOU TRACK ...(it is the biggest TRP churner after marriage .. yet the makers sacrificed it) there is no .. noise or track created for the ilove you ... that's cause from day 1 .. both are aware of the love for each other ... both know FARAK PADTA HAI ... so much transpired between the 2 .. so much they have gone thru alone ... the fact their love was a secret .. their marriage & its reality was a secret ... was the reason .. a I love you track was not needed ...

My Take ...

First of all ... lets get one thing very clear ... While their first marriage was not completed with Pheras ... it was a legal union ...

Arnav himself has alluded to this a million times ...now lets look at this statement for a moment ... during the kidnapping track when Shyam takes Khushi to meet with the fake " Mr. Roy" .. Khushi knows she is being tricked ..as she had met with Mr. Roy in the past ... now that's ur indication from the maker ... that the marriage was legal ...

The other indication .. this was Arnav Singh Raizada .. who believed at the time of his marriage that Khushi was in love with Shyam .. Shyam who was a lawyer .. do u think he would not take that into consideration ...

Now since this is a non issue ... it was never explained to the audience in its entirety ... since like their love .. their reason of the first marriage was never to come out either ...

A sacrifice of this magnitude from both .. if it had to be spelt out .. then the gesture would fall FLAT ... hence the same was never explained to the audience ..

Now having this out of the way .. lets get to the day of the marriage ...

At first Khushi is estatic .. she sees her love being OPENLY RETURNED bY Arnav there is no LA as an issue to contend with now ...

Its this super estatic & excited Khushi who walks up those terrace steps ... only to have her bubble brutally pricked ... by the evil Shyam .. his coming on to her RATTLES her completely ..the fact that the guy had the GUTS to do this when there was a full house happening below ..blows her .. she is rattled .. she is completely shook up ...

Then suddenly in the midst of the shaadi .. Arnav pulls her to the side near the poolside ... & the first thing she sees is that there is NO LOVE being REFLECTED in those eyes anymore ...Nor is the touch hugely tempered with gentleness & he is back to the shaitaan mood ... & he blackmails her to a marriage ... the whole thot of marriage without the consent of her family .. a marriage without the presence of her family ... a marriage without any ritual .. & what's more a marriage which starts on an END DATE ... she is further rattled ..

Here she thot her dreams were going to be fulfilled ... YES THEY were .. BUT they turned out to be a NIGHTMARE ...

Its this girl who is pulled into a deserted mandir ... a girl so grief stricken .. not only has her world come crashing down .. by the thot that her sisters unfortunate plight could be repeated & once again inadvertently she is the cause ... her heart is a million bruised pieces by now ... her every dream lies shattered on the pool side .. where she dared to dream ...

Now I ask u .. HOW CONCIOUS WAS KHUSHI at this point of time to her surroundings & what was happening to her ... ????

What did the pheras mean ... for her marriage was not just pheras .. for her marriage was RITUALS ... for her marriage was A TRUE LIFE TIME COMMITMENT ... for her marriage was a blessing which your elders bestow on u .. with their consent & good wishes ... which of these happened ... all she sees is a mangal sutra & sindoor on her head ...

Now pause here a moment ...

For both Arnav & Khushi .. that walk up the terrace step on that fateful day was a promise of commitment & promise of love ... they were committed to each other when they went to the terrace ... when they stood below the terrace .. they were committed ... BUT .. the only difference was there was MISTRUST ... there was SADNESS ... there were SHATTERED DREAMS ...

The 6 months that their marriage lasted .. were based on Arnav fighting to keep her in it ... yes she took his name ... but she fought tooth & nail to leave him .. while in anger & while in love ... the fact that this marriage did not go thru with the rituals .. was not something they ever thot off ...

Now take a flash of all the FBs u saw thru the 6 month marriage track .. baring the marriage day ... NOT A SINGLE FB of the MARRIAGE IS SHOWN .. till these 2 finally accept their love .. (post kidnap track) ... that's to show ... that day was a BLANK to both these people .. not a day they would like to recall .. not a day they want to remember ... but both of them with the strength of their love were committed ... Now that's the reason ... NEVER was there any PROOF of KHUSHI's innocence ever PROVIDED ....

Now the reason for the second marriage ... the second marriage would not have happened if KHUSHI did not want it ... if it was about his family & wicked dadi .. the marriage would not happen .. as Arnav would make it clear this marriage was legal .. & he was ok with that ... the reason the second marriage happened was ..

1. 1. he had illtreated this girl so much from day 1 ... this was his apology to her .. he wanted to show her .. he WAS HER RAJKUMAR as well

2. 2. his family had gone thru its worse days ... what with Shyam being thrown out of the house .. a marriage in the house will bring back the bonhomie .. & happiness to the women ..

3. 3. he had deprived her of a BLESSING from her amma & babuji .. when he whisked her away to get married ... he could not deny her that chance to regain that blessing

4. 4. finally .. marriage means happiness ... happiness means Khushi smiling ... & we all know it was always about her smile for Arnav ...

Now on the abandoned hut during kidnap track ..(which was originally going to be their consummation scene .. which was abandoned since Barun increased his leave days) Khushi was shy .. but the con was to happen ...

Now to be brutally frank when I first heard that the CON happened .. I was shocked myself .. like I said before I was not watching those episodes as I was on leave ... but it did not sit well with me ... but I did get the Makers reason for showing it .. but am not going to go there ...

Now lets look at the pre con scene ...

Arnav takes her to his mothers garden .. a place NO ONE BUT he goes .. NOT EVEN his SISTER ... he took her there as his Mother's bahu ... her entry in that place holding his hands ... was her true Grih pravesh ... he sat there & told her .. TODAY I AM MARRIED TO YOU ... I DON'T CARE ABOUT what rituals say ... I AM MARRIED TO U HERE TODAY ... U R MY MOTHERS BAHU ...

they come back home hand in hand ...

Now just do a quick FB of the entire marriage track all the rituals .. Khushi always wears her MANGAL SUTRA .. in each & every ritual .. coz .. SHE WAS legally MARRIED TO ARNAV ...

So first he took her to HIS SACRED PLACE HIS MOTHER'S GARDEN

Then finally at the guest house .. he took the blessings of her parents in that makeshift starry ceiling ... THIS was the ONE THING WHICH WAS MISSING IN THEIR FIRST MARRIAGE ... A BLESSING FROM THE ELDERs ...

That day in the guesthouse .. the blessings were seeked ... their UNION was BLESSED ... THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE MARRIED than this ...

Hence the CONSUMMATION was done ... it was a true UNION of the 2 souls ... under the stars ... with the blessing of their parents shining on them ...

(PS: the above cons explanation is based on what was finally shown to us the viewer .. the real reason for the con to happen is not in consideration due the problems the show faced during this time)

Ipoona, didn't get a chance to peep in last few days. Was watching all these eps back go back today and was equally excited about reading you for those epis. You didn't disappoint me at all. For me the crux of this epi was that one line of Khushi "agar patha nota tho hum galthi kyn karthe"..?? Spoke so much about this girl .. Her way of decision among... All heart no thought at all... A lot like him while in the process of decision among??!! It's quite interesting how dis similarly similar these two are!

Loved that dulhan part... How absolutely helpless he is when I've is totally taken in by her tender beauty.

Loved loved that part of their love song arriving from tree top.. Can't quote .. Beautifully done..

Very well said about mamiji. Her insecurities of some one else stealing her thunder as Raizada babu.. Some one else entering the family just like she did... Her scathing remarks are less than distasteful at times.
