Hey blasters,
Thank you all for the overwhelming response to my poem. And I am coming in here thinking that I have to send pms for the poem. 😆 I am super happy that it has reached you all nevertheless. 😃 Was in a rush yesterday. Logging in and out in short intervals. So, posted the poem in the evening and the translation late in the night. I am gonna reply to all individually. 😳

Loved all your comments.
I was so annoyed with nani for comparing Arnav with his dad.She saw him grow up, she knows his character very well. I always thought nani as a nemesis. really couldn't get her comment. I also wish if the cvs would've revealed more of both Arnav and Khushi's past.
I always wanted to say this, but never dare to do so. It's about Arnav's dad. If he was that bad he wouldn't have committed suicide after his mom's death? He killed himself, right? can i ask you a controversial question, is it a sin to love somebody after marriage, if you are not happy with your wife? I know deceiving a wife is wrong, what shyam did. If anybody doesn't like his/her spouse, they should admit it and leave them. I think there is one life to lead, so people always should give their life a second chance. what do you think?

let me share a story of my khala. she is one of the prettiest woman I've ever seen in my life. she is damn smart woman and teaches in collage in the US. But she is very unhappy with her husband through her whole life. She looks so young that younger guys also propose her. she also fell for extra marital relationship. but she couldn't leave her husband because of her only son and for the family pressure also. when i see her sorrow i only can think, people should always give their life a second chance.

oh sohara,

there's no judgment here. if you fall for someone after you marry, it is a tough one, but there are ways to manage it. and each case is specific. i think his dad indulged in the classic two timing keeping both women in the dark...

if they had told us a bit more about his dad and mum we would have known the reasons, the nuances... this way, they were just summarily dealt with and left us totally not convinced, not satisfied.

i liked those hints of him being like his dad. nani said it when he threatened to live with la too. maybe he had his dad's temper... so what. normal. how he deals with his father's memory, his proclivities, how he learns not to run away from it all any more.. so many things we could have gone into...

i feel sorry for your khala... this marriage thing, terribly demanding and difficult. very few can really manage the life they are supposed to. i have known the nicest and finest and strongest of people have affairs, crack under pressure, stuff. lot of hypocrisy and hiding around it too. society is made by us... as are institutions such as marriage. doesn't surprise me that many things are wanting in it. which is why i guess i put such a premium on instinctive absolute love. that one doesn't lie. you may live through hell and extreme difficulties, but somehow it manages to keep you alive. my take.

I got your point. May be nani meant that. You know sometimes your very own people can misjudge you. Arnav is introvert, so not so many people can judge him rightfully. Initially Khushi did the same. So I can't blame nani also.
You know there are so many couples around me are unhappy, that sometimes I get scared to marry.
Oh gosh I do so many silly mistakes. It's college, not collage😆

@Wah wah Durgey! 👏

Tum Hindi, Angrezi, Telegu, kisi ko na chodogi !
Ab hayye Rajasthani kavitayen bhi likh kar
Hum becharon ka dil marorogi?! 😆

You will write Hindi, English, Telegu
and Rajasthani poems too
and twist our hearts ?!😆

Thanks Wiwy. I have just used thaara and mhaara, the rest are mainly Hindi words. So you can say a Hindi poem in Rajasthani flavour. 😳 Of course, there are many words that are similar in both languages, but I am not sure which are and which aren't. And aaye haaye, why would I marodofy your dil, it is too precious for me. 😳 Nice little poem Wiwy. Waise hum kuch chode ya na chode, aap likhna na chodna. 😊

charming lovely poem, durga.

really my eyes are also desperately waiting to see some sign of life.

kesariya balam... suddenly that sounds hot.

never ever did.

sorry, durga, i didn't check out that tagline contest. not busy... very conphusia. maafi.

Thanks Indi. Really, this poem is coming out from all the talk surrounding RR, especially yours and Issk's. Tu Chanda main Chandni, the song you'd posted, the same song had been playing in my head too ever since I saw Sanaya's pic from RR, so had to use that line in the poem.
And why do you keep saying sorry? It really doesn't matter. These contests will keep coming and going. You can take a look next time, or the one after, or even after that. 😆 But honestly Indi, I am just reliving my school life by participating in these contests. Winning or losing doesn't matter. I am just experiencing the thrill of being part of a contest. 😊 And the joy of winning the tagline contest is nothing in front of the elating feeling I'm having reading everyone's responses to my poem.

"Door door tak koi nahin, bas main aur registaan"...stole my heart, that... captures the expanse of desert... and solitude of soul... haunting and poignant!

I think "Kesariya Baalam" and i think Manganiyars...what amazing voices...truly gifted from a world above! Here is a rendition of the same for the interested:

(credit:youtube)

Also this reminds me...there's a touring performance called "The Manganiyar Seduction" which is a "have to have to" for those interested in folk...evocative rajas- renditions done in the most breathtaking way. I had the pleasure, privilege i should say, of watching them live in the U.S. ...had tears and goosebumps galore... And they've also been traveling within the country lately... i really hope you, and all blasters indeed, get to see them sometime...
it's fantastic stuff!

Nice, this Registan talk...some of my most special travels there...and teenage fantasies thanks to Sridevi's towering beauty blazing the silver screen in "Morni baagaan maa"...

Thanks for the poetry, Durga...really transported me to the sands and the sounds!

Thanks for posting the song IssK. I have seen some folk songs and dances from Rajasthan, but not live though. Well, Doordarshan has helped us introduce us to various regions of our country when we were young. Manganiyar, I must have forgotten that name but not their work. These people are truly gifted and talented artists. As you say, hope some day I get to see them live.
It was Reshma and Shera for me whenever my thoughts went to the desert state and of course years later Sridevi's morni enhanced the beauty of my thoughts further.

Hey Arshi, thanks. 😊 I know, it is the desire of everyone to see him in that avatar. That's why I wrote so. Maybe someday he will get such a role, where we can see him in a uniform.

Thanks Horizon. It was advantageous growing up in a city like Mumbai, got introduced to many languages spoken around. To the extent that I may not speak all of those, but atleast I can recognise which language it is. But still I can't differentiate between Bangla, Oriya, Assamese and have no idea about the North East languages. And these are just the main languages. There are still so many hidden in the interior parts about which we do not even know that they exist.
Well anyway, basically I am just trying to be jack of all trades, master of none. 😆

let's kidnap her rasiya from Bengal. he is in bengal now. and confine him with her. Your poem made me think so.

😆Thanks Sohara. Ya, let's hypnotise the makers to turn the gun-weilding guy into a villian and then bring in the boy from Bengal to be her saviour and protector. Everyone can then heave a sigh of relief. 😆
