Hi, liked this post a lot! I also used to be a silent reader once, and I found it so difficult to become an active reader. But once I started commenting I realized its not so difficult. My reasons were also similar to the ones opsyellow has mentioned, by nature I happened to be an extremely reserved person so for me to even drop one word was so difficult, maybe this sounds funnyđ
-this is a genuine reason.. nothing funny in this..đ
but when I finally did I remember that writer appending a general note telling she doesn't appreciate one sentence comment, maybe from her side it's fair but it took all the guts in the world for me to draft that particular sentence.
-a writer should understand readers also have a life and they don't have only one story to read..
Then I stopped commenting altogether.
But subsequently I came a cross this sweet author who appreciates readers comments and that was a first time for me. That made me realize the fact that all the people are not same. Just like in school or at office there will be different kind of people,so might as well understand this and stick to people who doesn't hurt your feelings.
- exactly my point all the silent readers are not same.. some are forced to be..đ
Also I would like to add writers do take a lot of time from their busy schedule to present stories to us, so least we can do is appreciate their work. Also be less demanding both as a writer and a reader, after all too many expectations only causes sadnessđ
-true but comments should not be a compulsion..
I have few stories I religiously follow and I read them with out PMs cauz if u really like something then you shouldn't be reminded of that or forced for that matter but you should be able to follow them, just my opinion!
-same here.. đ
After all we are all humans who expects something in return so just the way a reader becomes happy after getting a response from the reader, same goes along with talented writers too. I can with out any doubt tell writers of all the stories I follow are extremely nice and they make sure they acknowledge you as a reader even though they receive dozens of comments every one hourđ
A sensible post this is, thanks for bringing this upđ
