i love to coment on ffs , as long as the writer does not get mad .. i have the rights to give my views as much as they have .. so i feel the writers who feel offensive and are anaphylactic loses response and readers avoid comenting on their ffs

thanks for sharing your views:)

you are right, think agree with you here - thanks for the response 😉

I so agree with all the points you have mentioned here... @Shruti21 nicely summed up... 😊 and also like the points mentioned by Zehra (@lazyleaves)

I joined IF for IPKKND but stayed here only coz of the wonderful authors present... I was never a silent reader, but things here on IF sometimes made me wonder... coz I didn't want to be dragged unnecessarily in stuff that were so new to me in the virtual space...

many authors I see, write that they take positive criticism well... but that is not actually true for all... sometimes its not only the authors but also their friends who get more offended... then they will chase u to the pit of hell 😔... i know that's what friends are for, to watch ur back... but plz show some mercy and compassion 😆 ... many readers are new and they do not know how to express their thoughts well...

though i have never faced such a thing here, but i have seen it happen with so many new members on IF, and whenever I came across such scenario, I would just leave the story... because however good the story might be, it is not worth the humiliation, coz you never know when you are the next to face that... the high-handedness and arrogance of some writers really puts me off...

as for the point of comments on updates , it usually gets very difficult for readers to comment on stories when they are accessing it thru the mobile... like for me i have very hectic schedule and being in IT and sitting on the computer for nearly 12 hours in office, I usually read the updates on phone, and as an when I get time at home I make it a point to switch on my laptop I comment on all the updates I have read ...but some writers expect comments for each and every update and that too flowery ones, which sometimes gets very difficult... a writer writes the story according to his/her time convenience, all I ask is for some leverage for the readers too... if a writer is late in giving an update the reader understands their problems and waits...but I have seen writers chucking out their readers if they fail to write a comment after one or two updates.. which can happen quite naturally due to several reasons of the readers, which the writer refuses to listen...

Just my thought - In blogs it is easy to follow the story, and u can get an instant message when the story is updated and also u can manage well the stories you read... but on IF sadly there is no such thing 😔... and if you are not on the PM list of the authors, and people like me who usually stalk the stories for update usually miss the updates... and it makes it difficult when some day u find out the story again and try to make a link of everything... but till then the author decides to remove the story and make a private blog...🤢

but touchwood, I think I have made some really nice choices in reading stories here... the writers I follow are really gems ⭐️... and I know I can speak my mind with them and they will take it in a positive manner.. 😃

@--Sonia-- thanks for starting such a nice topic... hope it helps both the readers and writers to bridge the gap 😊

Just wanted to tell you, I had a fun time reading your post! 😊

Thank you :D

I am guilty of point number one though I have my own excuses. 😳 Sometimes I am really not sure what I want to say .. so I choose to comment for the whole story or a few chapters together, instead of chapter by chapter comment. And since I read mostly form phone, posting comment becomes a tough job.

What happens with me mostly is, if the story is too good and I know that when the time comes to comment I will miss out on the parts which I like, I drop a comment. So sometimes, while I am reading completed stories I either drop tiny tiny comments throughout (from phone) or a long comment (from laptop)

I know, typing on a touch screen phone is a pain. The no. of typos I make

Most of the times it is point number 2 for me.

Yehi ab bacha hai life mein

Points 3 -7 made me laugh ... 😆 But about point 4 .. I won't term it as enmity but I have stopped reading stories because of growing dislike about the author. It is not like I read silently and don't comment .. I just stop reading. The only thing that has made me leave a story midway, even if it is good, is the arrogance of a writer. As a person, this is one trait I prefer to avoid by all means.

:D Yes, absolutely. Many might think that you and I have a lot of 'nakhras' but in real life I ignore arrogant people and I am not interested in their 'talks'. Similarly, I don't want to read the 'talks' of an arrogant author in the virtual world

(Yes, I have a habit of molding the virtual world according to the real world because I cannot live with two personalities 😛)

Point 9 .. does not apply to me.

Same here. In the 1.5 years of my vocal life on IF, I have never asked an author to PM me notifications.Because if I like it, I will follow it :)

Point 10 .. I understand a reader's POV here. But also for the writers it is sometimes difficult to reply to all the comments. What to say ... I myself want my comments to be replied when I leave a lot of comments un-replied.

Na re. Not replying to all comments. At least they can like it na? Thats the point. (Again a real life example) When I am talking to someone in real life, even if that person doesn't reply back 'verbally' and at least nods, its enough for me (no matter if the person is actually listening or not. I am a teacher and I see that often in a class 😆)

So replying to comments is like replying and liking is a nod :)
