1).Chicago Darpan: - You are known as the golden boy of Indian Television, did you always want to be an actor?
I don't know, we cannot foresee future, I didn't know this was going to happen but like every other kid watching television or cinema, I also thought this would be a cool job to do, that's it. I did not have a massive drive that I had to become an actor.
2). Chicago Darpan: - How did acting happen to you?
People fooled me yaar, they told me you look good and this and that; try your hand at it. So I sent my pictures to a friend who worked in the industry and some people at Star Plus saw it and liked it. They wanted me to record a clip; I sent them the clip which they liked so I came to Mumbai.
3).Chicago Darpan: - You come across as a very down to earth and humble individual, who / what keeps you grounded?
The people around me. Wherever we are the people around us make us who we are. My Father, my Mother, my wife and my fans I think these are the people who are responsible for whatever I am not just me being down to earth.
4). Chicago Darpan: - You have a tremendous fan following and have received accolades for your performance ASR, how much do you associate with the character that you play on screen?
There are similarities , Arnav doesn't react much, I don't either but that is because I am very patient unlike ASR, I don't get that angry often, it is very rarely that i get angry. He is very rich and I am not .
5).Chicago Darpan: - We have seen amazing camaraderie on the sets of Iss Pyaar ko, what keeps the unit so well knit?
All of us who have come together have done shows before and none of us are doing this for the first time and we are like minded. It just happened, luckily, everyone just clicked together.
6).Chicago Darpan:-How do you unwind after a grueling day at work?
There is nothing you can do. Because you just get back home and by the time you even realize anything it is time to sleep. It is a very demanding and challenging job being an actor or for that matter any job on television is demanding. The natural process of unwinding, sleep is the best option. There are not many options for recouping or rejuvenating yourself.
7).Chicago Darpan: - What is your favorite part of being an actor?
This is a very subjective question. It is different for everyone; each actor has his or her own favorite. I like action ...actually all of it. I like everything about acting.
8).Chicago Darpan: - What is the first thing you bought after making it big in the industry?
I have bought a lot of things but i think a little different from you, I haven't made it big in the industry and that's why I am unable to answer your question. There is a lot more to do and involves lot of hard work and struggle .
9).Chicago Darpan: - What is your one must have gadget?
I am not at all a gadget person. I just carry an I Phone now because my wife gifted it to me. đł
10).Chicago Darpan: - Can you single out one episode that stands out to you in terms of a performance that you really felt good about? It could be from any of your serials-
There was this episode where Arnav discovers that Shyam is cheating on his sister and his sister is pregnant. I remember when I read the scene I told my Director a person facing this situation in real life will faint with shock, die or run away. There is way too much happening. But I was very happy with the way it come out and I thought I did a good job. đ
11). Chicago Darpan: - Your mantra for success is?
I follow my heart.
12). Chicago Darpan :- You recently played a Charity Football match, do you enjoy playing any other sports ?
I love playing sports. I love cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Pool running everything. There was a time in my life that I wanted to be a full time sportsman but obviously the dividends were not as large as it is in our industry so that couldn't happen.
13). Chicago Darpan: - List your favorites'.
Song: - They keep changing , I like a lot of songs but currently it is Kun Faya from Rockstar
TV Show: - Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon without any doubt đ
Weekend activity: - Brunch. That communicates that I like to sleep for a longer time and eat when I wake up
Indulgence: - I would like to find out. I have a passion for lot of things; I cannot concentrate on anything apart from acting right now. I want to read, ride horses, play music; I would like to find out once I get the time.
