Well to answer ur question ... to be fair they did notice .. albeit late .. but if u see the episodes post Diwali ... u can see a slight realisation growing in Anjali ... its there when Khushi learns the truth about Shyam .. & Arnav is very worried about her .. his worry rubs off on Anjali .. she does for a moment pause ... note her dialog there to payal which she utters looking at Arnav ... it goes like .. "let us know when khushi is back .. or we will be worried ".... that realisation grows .. & finally on the kiss & A on the mehendi .. anjali's suspicions are confirmed ..

now for the family ... i remember on the episode when nani was introduced .. someone on DC wrote .. that Nani knew how to get things out of Arnav ... i dint comment then .. but here goes .. WELL Nani Knew MUCH MORE THAN THAT .. she knew ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA ... she knew .. Lavanya Kashyap was not the woman for him ... she knew .. KHUSHI or a girl like Khushi WAS THE WOMAN for him .. hence she makes Anjali bring Khushi home ... she actually manipulates Anjali into bringing Khushi to Shantivan ...

Now to M's ... i think mama & mami definitely knew ... Mami specially .. hence her adverse reaction to Khushi .. she saw the 'attraction" khushi posed to a man like Arnav .. her innocence was the draw ... hence mami's constant need to 'belittle" the Gupta Sisters ...

But having said all this ... Arnav & Khushi always FOUGHT in the presence of FAMILY ... their softer moments were always in private ( not that there were 2 many) ... but the biggest CLUE for the family was ... ARNAV REACTED TO KHUSHI .. a man not known to REACT .. was REACTING ... now when u see the episodes after Khushi comes to Shantivan to work .. keep noting Mami's reactions whenever Khushi & Arnav are at it ... Also lets NOT FORGET .. LAVANYA KASHYAP ... she was the game changer ... she was the BIGGEST REASON .. everyone around Arnav & Khushi .. could not OPENLY PUT PAID to what they felt was between these 2 ... the DOUBT in their thought was LA ...

So like Arnav & KHushi ... the family knew there was SOMETHING between the TWO ... but it was when the feelings could not be bottled anymore on TERI MERI sequence .. that the family finally puts the thot in words ...

Though I feel Arnav started making amends on the trip and fall right on teej.. Over there Khushi was unconscious.. Arnav was no where near.. The same scene was done but with favour able results..

I feel Nani always knew the draw between Arnav and Khushi there is a monologue between her and laxmi... Where she says that Arnav needs to see the difference between the right girl for him and and the wrong..

Even in janmastami episodes she keeps quiet... Later on in Diwali she starts getting attached to lavanya..and let things be..

With mami it was not obvious... I really she was stumped when Khushi got married to Arnav because even after Teri meri her batti did not flicker... Because after marriage she was looking for clues why they got married.

Anjali and Nani were not because they knew these 2 had fallen for each other.. Their disappointment and anger was why elope.. When they were for the wedding.. They were hurt because they were not involved in the wedding.. They felt slighted..

I get that Mamiji is loud... I know she is not evil... nor are her intentions ... she is obsessed with her social standing and status and wants nothing less for her kids...Most of the times her remarks are humorous and toothless and her scoffs are sarcastic and harmless ... And I also agree for the most part her bark is worse than her bite..I do get that she is a who she is coz of her own baggage and history...and is merely doing what she knows is best for her family...

But there are numerous times when her bite does leave marks... We did see a Mami who tears the Sari and then christens Khushi "Phatti sari" ... We did see the Khatti Methai" incident...where she personally spoils the methai and then goes on to fabricate an elaborate lie...accuses them...convinces the manager not pay the girls...We did see her accuse Khushi of stealing the necklace... and then not apologize...We did see her literally hound a hopping Payal out of their house ... Accusing her of being a gold digger...( I know .. ASR had done that and worse...but let's leave that for another time...) it is her son who is pursuing Payal ...We did see her trying to break up the wedding at the last minute and accuse the Gupta women of subterfuge...Calling Payal second hand or something to that effect...She repeatedly makes derisive comments about their home... their gifts... We did see her treat the girls shabbily after the wedding... We did we her rejoice at any hit of trouble between her son and Payal ... We did see her silently cheer Khushi being thrown out of the house and being accused of being a Rakhael...

All this because she wants to be rid of these two girls who are posing such a threat to her.. her position...her status... her looks...All because she does not want her boys associating with girls from poor families... Someone so like her own self... She knows how she wrangled her way into this household... Damn if she will let some upstarts come and dethrone her... and some upstart from her side of the tracks ... Never !!! She never felt threatened by La... coz La would be another notch in her social climbing post...

If Mamiji is insecure, mean, petty, self possessed, loud, melodramatic, she is at the same time a fiercely protective surrogate mother... a unfailingly loyal daughter in law and Khushi's valued partner in crime...

It is not that I don't understand the reasoning and context behind the two terms..."Phati Sari" and "Khoon bhari tang"...Or her attitude towards the girls... it s just that I had so so much trouble with it...

Should we say we agree to disagree??? 😛

This is a serial yaar ... see majority people in this forum & crazy followers of the show ... found Khushi to be the VICTIM of the piece .. to ME SHE WAS FAR from a VICTIM .. she was the CRUSADER ... in my alma mater here on the forum ... REdux .. i had likened khushi to a roop of Devi Maiya ... to me Khushi was always the fighter .. Personally i never felt the need for a redemption track ... & thankfully the makers obliged ... coz Khushi gave as good as she got ...

So these are impressions ... to me thats how the character appeared .. to someone else thats how the character appeared .. thats the beauty of discussion .. so many view points come out ..

let me once again reiterate ... GUYS pls share a contrarion POV ... without fear of ur 'behind'

My reply to ur post was based on the fact that u pointed out Arnav never stood up to mami ...i have explained that ... mami in her first appearance .. was more scared & worried about Nani .. than anything else ... yea she was insecure .. she was a woman coming from a poor background .. hence the preoccupation on worldly goods .. but narcissistic in first appearance .. yeh mujhe samjha nahi ... 😕😉
