Welcome to yet another edition of Reflections ... the 'Saansein Rukjaayengi Special' ...

Have been doing my peep in peep outs these days .. but as promised i wanted to write on the "great fall of Khushi Kumari Gupta" episode so here goes ... before i go into the 'Khushi fall' ... i want to ask u the reader a simple question ... WHO REALLY FELL THAT DAY ????

I am sure all of u connected this episode with the post Heer Ranjha episode .. where Khushi trips once again & is about to fall & Arnav saves her .. but this time instead of leaving her hand .. he pulls her back .. how many of u actually cried .. "loop closed' that day ... 😃 ...

Well obviously this scene ( the office fall) .. does find its connect to post Heer Ranjha episode ... BUT ..the sleuth in me .. hardly ever rests with the obvious connects ... so here goes ... as usual .. please grab ur remotes ... & lets connect the dots ...

EPISODE 17 ...

"Ek baar jo maine tumhara haath chhod diya .. toh mein dobara nahi pakdoon ga ... "

Tha famous dialog which created a furore in this forum ... "shaadi nahi hogi' waala furore ... at that point of time .. a couple of my friends ( we used to chat up on the episode) asked me frantically .. shud we remove the wedding banner from DC .. shaadi ho gi ya nahi .. ??

Well today u know SHAADI TOH HUI .. & DC was the only place on this FORUM .. which celebrated shaadi .. from the day .. Arnav said i will marry my wife again .. we never stopped celebrating .. even when news feeds were being poured on how the shaadi will not happen ...

Now let me explain why ... cause ... Haath toh pahle hi chhod chuka tha Arnav ...

So lets connect the dots ... this relationship .. started with Arnav leaving Khushi's hands ... but could he leave her ... ???

So back to my question .. who really fell that day ????

Did Khushi fall that day .. or did Arnav .. ??? cause after that one day .. HE NEVER LET HER FALL ... after that day .. he only offered her help .. (grudgingly sometimes .. sometimes clandestinely ... sometimes in anger .. sometimes in pity .. sometimes in the one emotion that was the underlying factor to all these emotions .. LOVE ... ) ..

So thats about Arnav .. now lets look at Khushi .. she says ... " Aapke bachane se humein girna manzoor hai" ... brave words .. & so untrue ... was this the woman .. who marched into Arnav's office & asked him for her job back .. WHY ??? when according to what she spouted he was a rude ... egotistic .. man ... but did she ever doubt his integrity .. no .. she somewhere in her heart believed in his FAIR PLAY ... so she walked up & "demanded" her right to her JOB back ..

now connect this to Payal's dialog ... "woh office uska hai .. woh naukri uski hai" ... but Khushi correctly judged Arnav ... yes he was rude .. yes he had anger issues .. BUT ... he would be fair ... whats more ... their passion for each other .. may have been hidden from the world .. but .. they knew about it ... SO BOTH knew .. a CHALLENGE issued would be answered ... the bait will be accepted ...

Someone on DC once said .. their love was hidden .. there were no obvious love moments ... oh well that was enumerated by NK as well .. right .. Now let me ask you one simple question ... WHAT WAS ALL THIS .. CHALLENGE & FIGHT .. this was the most INTENSE PASSIONATE LOVE FOREPLAY ...

hence .. what this forum called 'manhandling' ... was a passionate clinch that the makers were giving u ... pls note .. Arnav only held KHUSHI to himself .. when she attempted to walk away from him ... that was the passionate foreplay ... & the foundation of which was laid in episode 17 ...

if u have read me in the past ... on DC .. i have always maintained that 'challenging each other' is the basis of their love ... so lets look at this ..

In this episode ... Arnav challenges Khushi .. he offers her employment with a strong caveat ... a prize which Khushi would never be able to pay .. & one which Arnav would never collect ... SO why this elaborate ruse ..???? ... Did u ever give a thot .. why would a man of Arnav's stature .. need to speak to a low down employee in his company ... would he need an excuse to 'engage' ... & this was his excuse to engage .. a constant need to challenge her .. see how much of her boundary will he be able to breach ...

All their challenges were the same ... now lets look at the outcome of this challenge ... Arnav won .. Khushi claimed victory ... 😃 Now look at all their challenges ... Arnav wins .. but Khushi claims victory ... simply ... cause what Arnav wants to achieve from the challenge .. " the prize" if u please ... HE GETS ... HE IS ALWAYS the winner ...

to explain this ... lets forward to Gupta House ... Khushi goes back to live in GH after kidnapping track .. (buaji not well part).. Arnav grabs the doctors prescription .. & to release the same Asks for a KISS .. KHUSHI thinks she has tricked him when she snatches the paper out of his hands ... BUT ... Arnav walks upto her ... & kisses her .. saying ... I NEVER LOOSE A CHALLENGE ...

The outcome of this challenge was also predetermined by Arnav .. he would win ... but his prize was not Rs. 1,00,000/- ... his prize was a Khushi who would succumb to him ... a kHushi who would "ask for his help" .. not demand .. a KHUSHI who WOULD NEED HIM ...

I asked you all a simple question in the first DC ... what would happen if KHUSHI when she next met Arnav .. would be a subdued , scared Khushi & not the guns blazing cursader .. would Arnav's reactions be the same ... ??? i am hoping the answer to this is clear by now to all of u ... IF Khushi would have been subdued .. u would not get 398 episodes of pure bliss ... cause a subdued KHUSHI .. would have been a VICTIM khushi .. & that would be the end of the story ...

Arnav Singh Raizada was a man who was the quintessential Alpha Male .. his need to be the PROTECTOR .. was paramount .. hence throughout IPK .. all u got was ... his need to protect his sister ... the day he met Khushi .. he felt those same emotions in his heart .. a need to hold & protect ... BUT .. BUT .. BUT ... Crusader Kumari Gupta ... had her own agenda ... she was also a protector .. she far from wanting protection .. wanted to GIVE PROTECTION ... ( the reason she doesnt tell the truth to Arnav about Shyam is to protect him .. anjali was a byproduct) ... so when 2 alpha species meet ... TAKRAR to HONA HI THA ... hence it was called ... ISS PYAAR KO KYA NAAM DOON ??? ( & not Di KI Saut) ...

back to the episode ... the fall ...

Now if u have seen the episode on TV on its first run ... there is a most interesting moment .. which never failed to grab me just before the fall ...

before Arnav let Khushi fall .. he takes a slight look down ... he sees the boxes .. he knows that there are boxes down ... only then does he say .. the words .. which he knows .. will bring her BACK TO HIM ... & he will not have to ask her to come to him .. he says ..

"Mein toh bhool gaya tha .. Girna toh tumhari fitrat mein hai" ...

There the challenge was issued ... he knew .. she would come back to him .. guns blazing .. & they could indulge in their verbal foreplay ...

Lets look at this dialog now .. "girna toh tumhari fitrat mein hai" ... what Arnav forgot to say here was ... "aur bachana meri fitrat mein hai" ... coz isnt that what was the TRUTH of IPK ... Khushi with her passionate nature stumbled into fixes .. from which Arnav always unravelled her ... be it knowingly or unknowingly ... he was her saviour .. & she was the balm which calmed his soul ...

Now look why he leaves her hands ... cause here Arnav was being all heroic .. saving his damsel in distress ... but instead of being sweet & all thank you to him .. she says ... i dont want ur protection .. I DONT WANT or NEED YOU ... whoops & she lights his fuse ...😉

Since i have already written about the challenge above am skipping that ... lets move to the other most defining moment of IPK ...

" saansein ruk jaayengi"

After the almost kiss .. this is one FB which was constantly played out in IPK .. if the almost kiss was the acknowledgement to INTENSE PASSION & LUST .. this saansein ruk jaayengi .. was the basis of the acknowledgement of the DEEPER FEELINGS they both shared ...

Anji says .. u will not know when the girl comes into your life .. & becomes a part of your life .. wasnt that exactly what happened ... YEs he was intensely attracted to the girl ... but never at that moment did he think she was his LIFE .. she crept up on him .. she became a part of his life (his family) .. then one fine day .. he realised HER IMPORTANCE ... HER EXISTENCE WAS IMPORTANT FOR HIS EXISTENCE ...

The best part of this scene was .. when Anji says .. u dont want to marry or u dont want to marry Lavanya ... ??? now grab ur remote & move to the episode where La leaves & anji comes in the next morning .. telling Arnav i am ok with it .. since u dont love her ... ( thats the crux of the dialog) ... Anjali always knew Arnav did not LOVE la .. but she wanted to see her brother settled ... she wanted to go live her own life .. & wanted that special someone who her brother could live his life with ..

Now lets look at the most important use of this dialog in IPK ...

This dialog .. 'saansein ruk jaayengi" was a firm belief of Anjali's ... she believed in love ... she believed in the power of LOVE .. now lets forward to when Anji is angry with Arnav (post Shyam track ...) ... Anjali feels abandoned by Arnav .. .. its at that point ... Arnav tells her .. "u used to tell me there will be a woman in my life without whom i cant contemplate life ... well that woman is KHUSHI ) ..

bang .. one sentence 2 results ... Anji first feels that Arnav her Chottey is back .. he cares enuf to remember all that she had taught him .. remember she mothered him .. & 2 .. she knows the power of love .. she believed in LOVE .. & today she saw her brother acknowledge the word LOVE for the first time ... she totally succumbs to Arnav then .. & the next day .. makes the move to embrace her brothers love ... to me that spoke about the deep love that these 2 sibs shared ...

hence the saasein ruk jaayengi dialog .. had so much more meaning than .. describing the dhak dhak between Arnav & Khushi .. the saasein ruk jaayengi .. was the DEFINITION OF LOVE in IPK ... a definition which was taught by a loving sister to her brother ... but the actual meaning of that sentence was taught much later by a chit of a girl called KHUSHI ...

PHEW tired out .. there are so many more interconnected dots to this episode ... it kind of lays a base to the love story which was Arnav & Khushi .. but .. short on time today .. so promise another day .. another DC to discuss that with you ...

Now on DC 14 .. Chitmanas put up a post ... Chits is someone whose posts i love .. so if u have the time please do peep into that one as well ... Chits post as she says is a bit contrarion to mine .. but .. truly as i read it .. i loved it .. Chits .. i dint feel that the post was contrarion at all .. the crux of our posts were the same .. 😃

Now just one point in answer .. since a couple of questions were put up on that post of urs (Chits).. so here goes .. this is about Payal not realising KHUSHI was in love with Arnav ...

In the episodes till date .. there is no reason for payal to guess that .. as the WRONG DOINGS of Arnav are tantamount in her mind .. Arnav was a major reason for her marriage breaking .. for which she knew Khushi blamed herself .. whatsmore .. he was also the reason KHUSHI had to face abject public embarrassment ... so there is no reason for Payal to question Khushi's single minded focus on Arnav .. ofcourse its justified .. later on ... i am guessing a lot of u forgot .. KHUSHI WaS sent to Shantivan .. to TRAIN .. Arnav Singh Raizada's would be WIFE ... Lavanya Kashyap ... so why would Payal ever guess that KHUSHI was on her way to falling in love with Arnav .. ( have explained the rest in my post ) .

A small note : please friends dont hesitate to post Contrarion POVs .. thats the reason we started DC ... one doesnt have to be defensive u can simply come here & post ur POV .. which may or may not be similar to the writers here ... how else will we LOVE our show more .. unless a different angle is shown ...

i got here first and kept the place vacant for a long time sorry for that...

ok... just saw the episode... and iam not giving u any analysis... because i have no idea how to analyze like you people do...

but... ok let me sahre my reactions to arnav words..

"welcome to hell"... and me " ah! meri jaan... with you i can stay any where"

" i dont understand tumhari har baath shaadi pe kyun katham hotha hai"... " because we dream of getting married to you my hotwa"

seriously... if u havent fallen in love with asr before... " his smirk in this episode can undoubtly fulfill the job"

"saashein ruk jaate hain"

and it happened ... when ipk ended its really hard to breathe...

emm...

and i liked the way the episode ended..

kushi thinking about her prince waiting for him...

arnav thinking about his girl never expect it to happen..

they about wondering what would happen whwn they meet their soulmates..

the episode ends..and we all chant " iss pyaar ko kya naam doon"

Hatred never sufficed. It was arrogance and ego on a battle with faith and beliefs. I may sound vague here but the swirling circles in Arnav Singh Raizada's life are tightening themselves much more better than before only to reach where? The end or a new beginning?

I am dealing with time constraints. Would definitely try to update this portion with more if possible.

I have seen all episodes of IPK 4-5 times and I never got to see what you have seen

I also had this question in my mind that how come Payal did not notice that Khushi was attracted to

Arnav and you answered it.Fantastic !

Another question how come no one notices in RM Arnav and Khush attraction and comfort level till

So glad to see you back ... Have missed reading you all these days...Absolutely brilliant!!! Love very word... Will say it again... You leave me astounded with all your connects and most of them are truly so obscure that it is only the true Johwri who finds them!!! You should change your handle to Johwri...😛

You are so right...who fell??? He had already made his promise of Hamesha sambhalta rahooga... Today just ensured that he would never let her fall again... Remember .. Teej... Sprints across the temple compound...Does not let her fall... Same posture... same grasp...Same tension in arms... Same locked hands...Again all her weight in his grasp...the only difference is that their eyes are not dueling... And he is free to let his eyes feast...just like he did at the guest house... Like you said... He is there for her always ... Remember... his hand on her head ... At the hospital ... That said more than any hug could have... It is a promise of protection... I will not let any harm come to you... You are now my own...

Love what you said about Khushi that she knew his inherent fairness...that is one of his most attractive qualities... But is Khushi aware of it at this stage ???? or does she depend on her inherent worldview...I feel that Khushi is someone who is so inherently fair herself that she trust the world to be respond the same way.. Babuji had said that she thinks everyone is like her...So far...ASR has been anything but "fair" ...

I dunno if this a time or place to discuss Mamiji...but I couldn't find 14 after I first read it... Personally ...Honestly I have a lot of trouble with Mamiji... Maybe I just did not get her... I did get that she is more complex than what she portrayed most of her screen space... She does have a complex and real relationship with Nani...DIL and MIL... Sometimes at loggerheads but when push comes to shove...always there for each other and the family... She does have fierce protective love and loyalty toward Arnav and Anjali...Maybe that is why she is so antagonized by the Gupta sisters... What if the girls had come from a wealthy family... She would never have treated them the same way... Naniji let's her disdain for Mamiji surface at many times...she does remind her of her past ... But only when provoked...

I still believe ASR or anyone should have said something regarding the two derogatory insults... I mean would you stand silently if you were there...I know that I wouldn't ...and ASR was plenty in your face with both Dadi and Nani... So I am sure he would have had no qualms about just telling her off once...just dunno why it wasn't done...

Anyway ... Look forward always...

And now will post my two paise on this episode ... Sansein ruk jaaygee... What a phrase... Aaj toh smile dekh kar Meir sansein ruk Gaye...

His smiling, lighthearted reaction... His Di is so full of it... Sansein rook jayyagee...??? What a load of crock!!! These things don't happen in real life and not to real people... Stuff of fairy tales... But ASR did you know you we're starring in a modern day fairy tale???

But how well his Di knows her hard headed Chotay... More than he even knows himself... She knows how deeply he is capable of loving... If only he would meet the right girl...The tougher they are... the harder they fall...Do we need more proof of how tough and hard hearted ASR is ??? Di is convinced...that when he is ready to fall in love ... Real love ...not this passing dalliance with Lavanya...but true, deep, Janam janam ka, can't breath kind of love...it will be so intense and out of control...that he will be unable to function...that it will consume him... He would never dilly daly with this mien shaadi Nani karna chahata stuff... He would tie her to him... whatever means nessasary ... (Contacts... anyone???) He would spirit her off not giving anyone a moments notice... Just like he did...

And this lack of control is exactly what we see ASR fighting against... Never has he felt like this before... He is obsessed ... Consumed...Each meeting is leaving an indelible mark on him... Her defiance ... her dignity... her grace in the face of such hostility... He can't stop thinking... and this will continue to infuriate him ... As it leaves him wanting for more...

He could have let her walk away when she was leaving ...Or worse ... he could have had her thrown out ...had he really wanted to...He hadn't ... Why had he stopped her... Not something he wants to answer just yet... Not only did he not get rid of her ... But he has ensures that she is right where he wants her...bound to him ...by this most unprofessional contract... Where she would be at his beck and call... In his line of vision... under his control ... Within earshot of him ... Why ??? He is not willing to answer any questions yet...not from Lavanya and more importantly from himself...

There is nothing in his life that he has no control or no say in... He has no problem compartmentalizing his life... La is his girlfriend ... But he is her boss at work... No grey areas... He is brusque with her...putting her in her place... You can not question my decisions...A rebuffed La takes it...

But this Khushi Kumari Gupta, a nobody from nowhere ... doesn't just not take it ... She rises and fights back...He is intrigued to put it mildly... She has pulled him out of his dull stupor... and he is revving to go... The next few days will have him plotting flimsy ways to upend Ms Khushi Kumari Gupta...and enjoy himself...

When I first saw these initial episodes - right uptil the girti imarat episode - my thought was - he's abusive. This was my first impression. But when I saw those episodes again and again, my whole perspective changed and as usual - you've nailed the crux of the story. It was the foreplay. This was the deliciousness of the story.

And I guess this is also the reason why there'll never be another IPK. The story telling is - to use your words - completely sublime. One keeps having those A-ha! moments. That's what lifts IPK out of the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Loved it!!

PS - my 1400th post. Of course it HAD to be on DC. Where else??

Well to answer ur question ... to be fair they did notice .. albeit late .. but if u see the episodes post Diwali ... u can see a slight realisation growing in Anjali ... its there when Khushi learns the truth about Shyam .. & Arnav is very worried about her .. his worry rubs off on Anjali .. she does for a moment pause ... note her dialog there to payal which she utters looking at Arnav ... it goes like .. "let us know when khushi is back .. or we will be worried ".... that realisation grows .. & finally on the kiss & A on the mehendi .. anjali's suspicions are confirmed ..

now for the family ... i remember on the episode when nani was introduced .. someone on DC wrote .. that Nani knew how to get things out of Arnav ... i dint comment then .. but here goes .. WELL Nani Knew MUCH MORE THAN THAT .. she knew ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA ... she knew .. Lavanya Kashyap was not the woman for him ... she knew .. KHUSHI or a girl like Khushi WAS THE WOMAN for him .. hence she makes Anjali bring Khushi home ... she actually manipulates Anjali into bringing Khushi to Shantivan ...

Now to M's ... i think mama & mami definitely knew ... Mami specially .. hence her adverse reaction to Khushi .. she saw the 'attraction" khushi posed to a man like Arnav .. her innocence was the draw ... hence mami's constant need to 'belittle" the Gupta Sisters ...

But having said all this ... Arnav & Khushi always FOUGHT in the presence of FAMILY ... their softer moments were always in private ( not that there were 2 many) ... but the biggest CLUE for the family was ... ARNAV REACTED TO KHUSHI .. a man not known to REACT .. was REACTING ... now when u see the episodes after Khushi comes to Shantivan to work .. keep noting Mami's reactions whenever Khushi & Arnav are at it ... Also lets NOT FORGET .. LAVANYA KASHYAP ... she was the game changer ... she was the BIGGEST REASON .. everyone around Arnav & Khushi .. could not OPENLY PUT PAID to what they felt was between these 2 ... the DOUBT in their thought was LA ...

So like Arnav & KHushi ... the family knew there was SOMETHING between the TWO ... but it was when the feelings could not be bottled anymore on TERI MERI sequence .. that the family finally puts the thot in words ...
