i am a die hard indian indian... which is why perhaps i cringe when we are shown to establish our way as better than anyone else's. at the heart of india is an astounding inclusiveness... from curry to the sari and beyond. to be desi one doesn't have to say others ways are no good. in fact, i learn every day from the world around me, and people such as asr with his sort of sensibilities exist across our cities... and they feel normal to many of us. and as for english, well i may have said tsi before, but it's been spoken in india for 400 years, it is tome an indian language now... 😆. sanskrit itself came with people who came to settle in the land if my history isn't too awry.

once before khushi has pushed her idea of marriage down la's throat... now this party. i love the character of khushi... i love her crazy guts and originality madly. it would have been great if they at some point made her wonder about this thing in her... to push people to do things her way... even if she genuinely believed it were the right way... and did it for everyone's happiness.

Episode 149

Mistaken Identity

NK is coming down the stairs with saris while Kushi enters the RM. They meet and Kushi thinks he is leaving already. She says she has to look at the saris and takes them from him after speaking loudly since the sari merchant is hard of hearing. He also mistakes her for the dance master and says he is not so good. Which we all know is utter nonsense since we have seen NK dance. 😆While Kushi is looking through the saris, NK starts auditioning. She stops looks up at him.

Akash and ASR come in to find NK auditioning. His dance technique is quite lacking for NK. ASR and Akash are shocked. The look on their faces, priceless. That's true. Everyone's expression in this scene was hilarious. And what was NK trying to do, flaminco? 😆

Kushi thinks that Di told her he was deaf but she didn't say he was crazy!

NK asks Kushi if he will be able to dance now. Kushi says yes but what does that have to do with the sari's? Akash asks him what's up. NK greets them and tells them he is auditioning for the dance teacher. NK says shhh she is very strict. Kushi places the saris on the table and answers that Anjali has said hethe sari vendor was hard of hearing.

Kushi sees Shyam she turns away from him and his drama is about to begin. His allowances for the day he forgot and Anjali hands it to him. He makes like it is so little but he will manage. I really can't stand him so it is hard for me to write about his plan! And I am wondering how does he come up with such plans? And how did the writers think of this?

Kushi is worried about what she just saw and winds up in the kitchen followed by NK. His solution to problems is chocolate. While she says hers is jalebis.

HP calls NK because ASR has an announcement. (LOL at all the initial nicknames!) 😆

ASR announces that he is throwing a cocktail party for Akash and Payal and the younger generation will attend. Anjali says she is busy with Shyam. The theme is South-East Asian with glasses and wine. Kushi is shocked she asks no desi food? NK asks about entertainment and ASR says it is not about entertainment but for them to get to know each other. Kushi tries to say something but he doesn't want to listen. He says he is busy. Anjali says listen to her and he says phone call and leaves.

Kushi is angry and tense, Nk sees and says what is it. She tells him the party will be boring it should be an Indian theme with filmy songs and spicy food. Kushi says Arnav is making the decisions, Nk reminds her she has equal share to this party, he has a share for his brother, her a share for her sister. She says she will talk to Arnav but NK says he will do the talking. Kushi says then let me tell you what to tell him!

NK goes to Arnav who just gets agitated knowing he is at his door. He tells the person on the phone he will call him back because he has network disturbance. 😆TeeHee!!! NK starts telling Nanv that he loves India, the food, the girls, the ahem...ahem... people. Kushi is in the background behind the door giving him hints. They're shaking their waists! She says thumka. Every shake of the hip is called a thumka. 😆 ASR asks him what the hell is he saying? NK say the party should be a desi party. Wine and lassi!

It's My Party!

NK starts telling Nanav that he loves India, the food, the girls, the ahem'ahem' people. Kushi is in the background behind the door giving him hints. They're shaking their waists! ASR asks him what the hell is he saying? NK say the party should be a desi party. Wine and lassi!

"Kushi Kumari Gupta, come inside!"

He knows she is outside the door. NK denies Kushi is there. He calls her again. She slowly walks in. They talk about the party and she tries to make a suggestion and he tells her it's my party! He says to her that her ideas are as stupid as she is and advises NK to stay away from her. She is crazy! Insulted she leaves and NK follows.

She is leaving mumbling about her Laad Govenor and Akash stops her and asks her to give a note to Payal. She teases him calling him Jijuji. A love letter. She teases him that she I going to read it but then promises she won't, she will give it to her sister. He tells her that he will pick up Payal for the party at 6.

Kushi is teasing Payal with the letter. She won't give it to her and then she threatens to read it. She says Akash is like his mom when she reads out loud, Hello hi, bye, bye. She says the letter is not from Akash but his mother. Kushi makes up something so Payal will get nervous. Payal after many tries takes the letter from Kushi and finally reads Akash's words. He said he was trying to meet with her before the wedding and now they will be able to meet at the cocktail party. That was a cute sisters scene. 😊

Buaji hears party and asks about it. Payal tells her and she says they should dress up. Kushi tells her it is only for the youngsters and Buaji chases her around the room for calling her old. Buaji calls them spoiled. Payal isn't sure what to wear she doesn't want to be a misfit and Kushi says to herself that was what she was trying to say to Arnav. She has to make her sister comfortable and a desi party would have done that. She must do something so she calls Arnav.

Kushi can't believe he has the nerve not to invite her. The next night someone is knocking at the Gupta's door. It is Akash. He says to call the girls and Buaji tells him only Payal is going, Kushi has sprained her leg. NOT!

Arnav introduces Akash and Payal. Payal appears uncomfortable. She wants to call Kushi once. They speak and Kushi senses Payal's distress but Payal covers it up as best as she can. Kushi is home cooking some desi food and the best is yet to come. NK calls and the plans are put into action. Kushi says to herself now watch ASR what KKG does to make your sister in law happy!

NK is introduced to Payal. After blundering over some Hindi/Punjabi words again he keeps looking at his watch. Payal asks if he is waiting for someone and he says yes, his date. He reminds Arnav that he said he could bring a guest, a date.

Kushi runs in to the party looking ravishing in a royal blue sari. Can't wait for him to see her and NK together! I know, Khushi looked wow in that saree. ASR's expression was priceless... 😆

He will regret telling her , "It's my party!"

Episode-148

An effeminate guy, who speaks broken and gibberish Hindi has entered in the show to make Khushi frolic and sometimes frivolous. He also makes a grumpy man envious too. We will certainly see lots of faraq padta hai moments from Arnav's side too. Till now he wanted to see faraq in Khhushi's eyes, now it's time to see the faraq in his eyes. Oh, yeah!

NandKissore is his name, in short NK, who is mami's nephew and who calls Arnav, Nanv meri bhai. Doesn't he sound sweet! Aunt can't speak in English and nephew can't speak in Hindi. So funny! But he will sure bring lot of smile on our face.😊

As Arnav told her to get out, Khushi starts to fight with him. Arnav tells her that he stopped the car, cause he can say her to wear dupatta instead of towel. Without realizing Khushi emulates him and finally sees that she is actually wearing a towel. She rushes to the house to change it. Arnav says in annoyance

"Unbelievable."

But I'm sure he enjoyed her waywardness. 😆

In RM Anjali and Khushi are getting prepared for the upcoming marriage event. When Khushi was ordering sweets to the caterer, Arnav descends down from the stairs. Arnav and Khsuhi exchange a meaningful gaze to each other. May be Khushi is feeling bad that she is ordering so many kinds of sweets in front of him, where he is not allowed to eat any. Could be, even I was wondering what that gaze meant? Or maybe they suddenly realised that now La isn't there, for whom Khushi used to come to RM. Arnav leaves and tells Anjalli that he will be back after the meeting.

Shyam comes down with his evil plan. He smiles at Khushi. 😡 But she looks reticent. He thinks it is the right time to implement his game. Khushi is in dilemma.. She recollects Anajli's rage on Shyam. She may thinking why she was mad at Shyam just for wearing a white shirt! When Anjali comes down Khushi excuses to leave. She asks her sweetly to come on the next day and reminds her to clear her throat that the sareewala (saree merchant) will come tomorrow. And as the person doesn't have good hearing, she will have to talk loud in front of him. Shyam is contemplating her from a distance, trying to find out how his plan worked.

After Khushi left Anjali comes to Shyam and leans her head on his shoulder. She is feeling bad that she had to scold shyam. But the devil says he likes it instead as it's his formula to maintain loves in their relationship. Anjali gets enamored at his mellifluous talk. Ye hypocrisy ko mein kya naam doon? Really, too much.

Khushi is lying down on her bad, can't sleep, as Shyam's words puts her in deep thought. She remembers how everybody talked about Anjali and Shyam's strong love, Anjali's reverence to her husband and now today she just saw the opposite picture; Anjali yelled Shyam for a trivial matter. She can't connect the dots. Anjali is so nice, how can she be rude to him. She brushes off her thought.

Mami is complaining mama that she couldn't sleep whole night. Mama thinks she is tensed because of wedding preparation. But mami is not tensed for that, she is rather tensed for thinking of the loss what she will have to bear by making a down market girl her DIL. She is worried that if she gets dark circle under her eyes then how she will come in front of the guest! Mama gets annoyed at her nonsense prattle.

Mami is poking mama to know about the person who is coming from Kidney. Arnav and Akash who were going to office stop at mami's words. Akash understands who is coming. Nani tells him to freshen up and mami agrees as the dance teacher is coming. He has to dance in front of her. NK gets confused mami tells her she is coming to teach dance for Akash's sangeet. She mentions that the dance teacher is very strict, but fantashtic (fantastic) as well.

The forum it seems was divided into Khushi supporters and ASR supporters. But I agree with you that whatever Khushi did was for her sister. She wasn't willing to attend in the first place, only after hearing Payal's sad voice she decided to dive right into the party. About ASR throwing such a boring party, I agree with Indi, ASR didn't seem the sort of guy who would throw one that was boring to such an extent, that his guests jumped up at the offer of lassi and desi dance. I felt the behaviour of the guests here was a little OTT.
