OS | "Don't Leave Me!"..."Let Me Go!"
Her vision shook continuously, as if the earth was crumbling down.
Her eyelids were beginning to feel heavier with every passing minute.
Her lips began to quiver and she slouched further to stop herself from blacking out.
The lights began to dim, and Arnavji's worried face in front of her became blurry.
"Khushi! Don't go! Please…."
"Arnavji… You know this is inevitable… Let me go…. Ahhh, why can't I see the light..." Her words slurred.
"Khushi please. You can fight, I know you can…"
"Arnavji! You don't understand! I WANT to go… Let me go… There will be stars, so high up. And I can see everybody… Ahhh… I can even wave to you from there…" she giggled drowsily.
"Khushi! You know its hard for me!"
"Arnavji! You have to get used to it… Di, tell him!" she said, her eyelids getting heavier with each second.
"Chhote, you need to let her go… She WANTS to… What is the problem…"
Khushi looked sideways and grinned. "Not much time… Not so much left Di…."
"Khushiji, hold on for two more minutes…" Anjali plead.
"Right Di… Right…. Aaahhh…." Khushi said.
"Khushi, please. Listen to me first…."
"Arnavji you have to let me go… It's final… You promised you wouldn't fight about this… That you would let go when it was time…"
"Khushi, this discussion isn't over! Keep yourself up for two more minutes!" Arnav plead.
Khushi sighed, feeling more drowsy and her head began to loll. "Ar-Nav-Ji. Let-it-be. It-s-la-te-no-w…."
And then the world went black...
"KHUSHI!"
"ARNAVJI!"
"WHO THE HELL SWITCHED OFF THE LIGHTS!" Arnav roared.
Khushi was scared of the dark, and he didn't want her to leave feeling scared.
"One minute Arnav Bhaiyya! It's a power cut! I will put on the generator!" HP called.
Minutes later, the power was back on.
Khushi was still there, thank goodness!
"Khushi!"
"Arnavji!"
"Chhote, you promised let her go in peace! If she leaves you like this, she won't be in peace…"
"Maybe that's what I want… So that she can come back…" Arnav said sulking.
"You are very annoying Arnavji…"
"Wait, maybe I can come with you!"
"What, Chhote no!" Anjali said, horrified.
"Why not Di?"
"It's an 'only-ladies' things Chhote!"
"What ?! But why?"
Anjali ignored him. "It's done Khushiji….!"
Khushi sprang to her feet. "Ahh, thank you Di! There really is magic in your fingers! My hair feels much lighter now. Thanks so much!"
"Khushi I-"
"Mr Raizada, no more discussion. This is for hardly two days and then I will be back! Besides, me and my childhood classmates are meeting after years and I don't want to lose my time romancing with you by the lakes in Nainital. We can do that after I come back! Now let me go!" she said bossily.
She walked away, leaving an embarrassed Arnav with an Anjali who had a mischievous glint in her eyes.
