Episode 100
Aalingan - Part 1
Khushi ke man ka peeda kanth tak bhar aaya
Ashruoan ki dhaar mein dhairya ksheenit hogaya
Is avastha mein sahayata ke anurodh par
Devi Maiyya ne Arnav ko upastit kiya
Khushi ke sainyam ka baandh toot gaya
Pragadhta se Arnav ko gale lagaya
Apne vilaap mein hruday ke bhay ko samaksh rakha
Bhavuk huye Arnav, magar Khushi par hast na rakha
Sahaanubhooti ke do shabd kehne ko man tha vyakul
Dheeraj usey bandhaane ka avsar tha anukool
Ek hokar bhi adhoora tha ye bandhan
Kyun na poorna hua inkaa aalingan?
Translation (Anuvaad):
Khushi's heart's pain came up to her gullet
In the flow of tears, courage reduced
On asking for help in this situation
Devi Maiyya presented Arnav
Khushi's dam of patience burst out
Hugged Arnav affectionately
In her wail, poured out her heart's fears
Arnav became emotional, but did not put a hand on Khushi
His heart wanted to say two words of consolation
It was an appropriate time to provide her courage
Inspite of being one, their bonding was incomplete
Why wasn't their hug completed?

beauty, durga. i notice deeper, richer, more difficult to access words. love that bit too. nothing like bringing words getting tucked away in little read corners right out into the most contemporary medium where everybody reads, not just the literary minded. so many words i will now have to check in the dictionary. 😆. aalingan, oh what a nice way to say hug.

loved your hug thoughts on previous page. the hug was completed really, just not the conventional way. it did what it had to, and that look between them, his eyes flowing, open, wanting to say so much, yes in that he returned her embrace. but as you beautifully point out, only he didn't understand that. i am glad he didn't, that was also beautiful.

but every time i think of his arms not reaching and completing a circle, i remember the rain, sound of car, headlights bright, a girl terrified, and a man coming rushing out of nowhere, arms reaching without any hesitation, scooping up the slight girl, whirling away with her taking her to safety, putting his own body as shield between her and harm. arms tight around her. wonder why i think of this every time.

durga, dear mistress of metre and rhyme, the one who gets inspired while washing dishes and chopping veggies, thank g you decided to dump your inhibitions and leap in. this blast this is such fun. i remember those off topic chats, feeling a bit diffident, should i write, shouldn't i write... but then along came arshihamesha, barundiwani, katelyn, sigrid, and others and sort of said, it was ok, i could ramble on a bit. what a relief. i couldn't imagine not talking ipk, overnight. for a few months prior i used hang at a delightful place called crooner where honeypriya wrote lyrical and fun intelligent main posts, then we all took abash at the day's episode. give up so much fun? thanks to all of you, i never had to. 😳 🤗

Mistress of metre and rhyme! 😆 Gosh, the names I get on this thread. Love them all. This one too, Indi, this is unique. 😃 Thank you. 🤗. Hey, you weren't supposed to reveal the place of my inspiration 😆. But, its ok, maaf kiya. It's true though, when doing mundane, daily regular jobs, where hardly any intelligence is required, mind tends to drift to a place that it revels in, recalling the posts and comments, giggling away at some of them, and of course, thinking about my next poem. Crooner, wish I had read that thread too, but somehow, at that time, was following only a few threads. Used to read Shalini76's What I Loved reviews regularly. Always found hers hatke compared to the other ones.

Lovely discussion about the hug - whether Khushi wanted Arnav to hug back or not. Here's my view.

When Khushi ran and hugged Arnav, she was looking for a way out of her inability to deal with the situation, to gain courage, looking for comfort and subconsciously she knew that Arnav was the answer. So, in a way, yes, she was looking for Arnav to reciprocate. She poured her heart out, told him that she has lost the courage to bear with the situation. Once she did that, her burden was lighter and she slowly came back to senses, found herself in his arms, and looked at him. I would say, she got her answer, her reciprocal in his eyes. She saw her pain in his eyes, his yearning to comfort her. She immediately moved away from him, because she was scared of what she was able to see in his eyes, scared of the intimacy they shared.
So, I would say, she was looking for him to console her, and she did get that consolation. Only, Arnav couldn't realise that.

Great explanation Durga, i think we agree for the most part especially that she left feeling his care for her. and also about her fear after she saw what she saw in his eyes. 👍🏼 luv it!

Thank you Ami for loving my work. 🤗 I will try to write more, whenever I feel that I can't limit my thoughts to the few words of a poem.

Isn't that what we all want in distress

I am glad you loved it, Arshi. All is well and jaadu ki jhappi was recurring in my mind while the hug discussions were going on. So, thought of penning my thoughts down based on those.

Thanks for liking this post so much Arshi. I remember reading your reviews in the earlier threads. In fact, there were about 4-5 of you people, whose reviews I would be looking forward to read regularly, Only thing, was would always mix up the names, would be confused who wrote what type of reviews. 😆

Thnx Ami for this discussion 😊 of Hug ,ok in purple above totally agreed she had no clue about his state as she never did in the beginning ,her realizations come later not now.But he felt her pain and he is here for her ,she knows that and that what scared her along with her closeness to him like that and she was not talking about why didn't he hug me back after ,but I do see always in her to expect some warm condoling words ,I don't why but I do may be I am wrong or as you said seeing it differently.
In blue I see their connection is getting towards telepathy without saying saying everything and mehsoos everything .

What I felt I always see through more from her eyes than him and that's what's making our POV different as he always read Khushi's state through her eyes as her eyes speak the truth and he did the same here and that's what bothers her and him as well. She became vulnerable and the regret came in his lap which he tried to shake off by pacing and feeling guilty and she did by feeling bad why did I needed him .You are right we are seeing same but saying it differently.

Thanks Arshi,
In purple, i see where you're coming from that i don't think any of us are wrong. we are just processing it diff, and really that's the beauty of it. I"m sure many ppl see that extra hope or wish of Khushi in her expression following the hug. I just didn't see it that way, and our two diff POV is what interested me in knowing how others took the same scene. 😊 thanks again!

HEY DURGA LOVE YOUR POV WHICH IS SIMILAR TO MINE IN RED YES THAT'S WHAT I FELT SHE WAS LOOKING FOR SOME CONSOLATION AND SHE DID FIRST WITH PAYAL WHO IS CLOSE TO HER [RATHER THAN AMMA OR BUAJI OR EVEN SHYAM AS HE IS HER FRIEND] AND THEN ARNAV AND IN PURPLE SHE GOT SCARED WHAT SHE SAW IN HIS EYES AND YES THE SURROUNDINGS AND RAN AWAY
