Was Khushi's character butchered?

I love IPK & especially arshi a way too much. Hence I am still wandering in arshiland thinking abt them every second. Sorry for the lengthy post. Be patient to read it. Arnav-Khushi are too much in love with each other. Yet they are totally opposites from opposite world. They never converged, but learnt to walk parallel & with each other in the road of love. They are not a perfect couple, but became perfect to each other

We all complain the way the lead characters were butchered beyond recognition towards the end of the serial. Even I am one among them. I still do have complaints. But since IPK ended, I want to be positive everything abt IPK. I was wondering about the characterizations, questioning & justifying myself.

Khushi's OTT behavior with Arnav ignoring his feelings after RM:

Arshi share a unique love story. They breathe each other; can't stay away from each other; love each other unconditionally. But when they r together, they never think of themselves; always give priority to their family's happiness. No wonder that when arnav planned to go for a movie, she invited the entire family.

Khushi can always convince anyone with her sweet talks – making the model bhaiyya to make measurements, make ASR accept that he kept the pot, convince barrer to get a seat prior to the booking. Similarly she made all the OTT drama to let her take that food inside the mall.

Khushi always gate crashes everywhere (while signing contract with Arnav, during besan scene she literally barged into his room, bachelor's party gate crashing scene). She is so impatient in certain things & the moment she understood arnav is upset with her, she couldn't hold till he comes back from office & gate crashes in between the presentation. It seems so stupid, but somehow there is a continuation in her character.

The difference is that we all loved her crazy antics when it was with arnav, but hated the same when it was with some xyz

Continuation of my post:

Sheetal's Track:

Every girl wants her husband only to be hers'. Khushi was no different. She knew ASR's relationship with La and knew how he never loved lavanya. She wasn't worried/jealous too much abt ASR-la. But now it is different. She is unable to digest the fact there were other girl(s) in arnav's life before her and she is unsure abt the extent to which arnav was involved with them. Khushi can't be blamed for that, as no girl could sit & take rest when a kid similar to arnav in every way entered their life.

She doesn't doubt arnav's love for her. She knows she is his life. He can't live without her. But she wants to clear the confusion. She tries her level best to clear it without anyone's help as she always does (becoming a peon – though illogical, from Khushi's POV her attempt is justified as she always does everything on her own). When she finds out that aarav is indeed arnav's son, true to her character, she doesn't get angry upon anyone or blame others, instead feels herself a hindrance to the dad-son & plans to leave him hurting herself & her arnavji (similar to times when she distanced herself from arnav for di).

Continuing:

Mrs. India Track:

Arnav-Khushi are too much in love with each other. Yet they are totally opposites from opposite world. They never converged, but learnt to walk parallel & with each other in the road of love. Their ideologies are different. Arnav is still an atheist & khushi is still a theist. They want to feed aarav with their own ideologies and end up in a fight.

Khushi knows Arnav loves her so much; he respects her; he treats & protects her always like a kid (after marriage). She has no doubts upon that again. All she wants is to prove him that she has courage, brain & confidence (akal, himmat…). Even we do that. When our parents challenge that u can't do anything of ur own, u make sure that u prove them wrong. That doesn't mean that we don't love our parents. But love is different from self-esteem. She wants to prove herself & him that she is Mrs. ASR. She takes up something which is totally strange to her. In the process she realizes that she needs him to be complete.

Marriage is not the end of a love story; it is just the beginning where you fall in love again & again. The success of the marriage lies in that.

Hey dear, great post. So i discovered IPK just last aug, wathed the whole thing up till the remarriage in about 1 month, fell in love head over heels with the show Barun and sanaya. just when i caught up the remarriage track was progressing and i have to say up till then i enjoyed the show and the characters enormously. After the remarriage took place, and shyaam was exposed, the writing suffered big time. watching the show in such a short span, the earlier Arnav and Khushi were fresh in my head and i wasn't happy with the way Khushi was progressed after Shyaams exposure. Yes Khushi was OTT always and that's was made her special, but earlier on it was done written with lots of care and intelligence, for ex the "pot" scene...she was OTT b/c she was nervous about experiencing the "Dhak dhaks" first time...but later it just seemed forced...Hats off to Sanaya for carrying it off. I watched only for SARUN those later episodes...the only thing good out of Sheetal track was the Kadva chaut maha-epi!

I"m analyzing and writing about each episode along with a few others in the "Blast from past" thread and we're on the nainitaal track, i can't tell you how much i'm enjoying and LOVING these earlier ones even more the second time, the depth of the writing and the acting of Barun is mind boggling and Sanaya comic timing is impeccable. IT really was special show.

hey nice post👏loved everything you have written and your take on it with a positive view😊
However i think the whole storyline was butchered not just khushi's character after contract marriage
I still can't forgive gul and her PH for screwing up such a wonderful show 😡
Only If they could have come with a better storyline then the show would have been running with decent trps even now😭

Nice post. Although loosing patience, I watched IPK till the end out of love. Tried to make sense of whatever was offered. Around the end, I did regret K's behavior with A inside the theater and on his B'day, but will forgive the rest. K's ever sensible, pleasant feistiness was lost after their first marriage and did not make a real return as we kept waiting. No doubt, major part of IPK was sheer beauty. No complaints about dabba, swami or GH track.

nice, thanks for following, the BFTP thread really ease the pain of losing the show. I agree with you to a point, we love them so much i know some ppl stopped watching but i could never do that. In fact i wasn't even one of thos people that complained during the uproar of the Sheetal track b/c at least the show was still on...but even Arnav character did a complet 360...and Barun's lack of interest was obvious too in the sheetal track. But with Arnav the writers had a sense in where they were taking him (as in he was tamer happier etc) , but with Khushi feels like they just didn't know what to do with her. there were some inconsistencies also, earlier Khushi cherishes her life, her dialogue to Payal on her first day of work at AR was "Marenge kyu? karenge aur aur karenge"...during the resignation scene, she became a lioness yelled at him b/c she though he put her life in danger on purpose, so how can be ready to commit suicide b/c she thought Arnav was trying to kill her to be with La?? ...that too in a very comic way (suicide is was too serious they made a joke out of it) i can undertand her stepping aside and sacrifice her love for La but why kill herself?. I think her suicide track was just as bad or worse than the sheetal track. then diwali 2012 she liked fireworks all of the sudden...2011 she advised La against them not once but twice...the whole writing in general suffered, Khushi's character was always a tad inconsistent, which i think made it hard for the later writers...I wish the maker loved the show like we did, there was so much potential.😭

sorry for the long post got carried away :)

Strange but true that I love d dabba, swami & GH track a lot as that was d time when IPK happened to me... As a whole IPK was high on entertainment part... Arshi scene is enough to cure my headache & homesickness... Love arshi & ipk a lot...
