I have been reading various versions of whose fault was it that the show closed. Some have even said that it is because of US. I need a few clarifications .

It is said that BS initially contracted for 1 year only. Still the PH took him on as their lead .

What was the idea ?

1. Was the PH thinking of replacing BS after 1 year anyway which seems possible if the show had only a mediocre response like other shows and they could have got away with it with blinking an eyelid.

2. Were they thinking that they could persuade BS if the show was doing well citing the advantages of being connected with a successful show. They could still have got away with it if BS was not BS.

3. Were they thinking that they could have brought other love angles for SI as is shown in other shows and let the show run for 3 to 4 years ?? They could still have got away with this if the show was not successful.

4. Were they thinking that they could continue by killing the lead. Yes they could have still got away with it if the lead character had not become the ideal darling of the fandom.

What they did not bargain for here was………….

1. BS and SI are wonderful actors who breathed life into the characters.

2. Their chemistry was something to be reckoned with.

3. The leads hooked the fans to the serial.

4. The show became an international hit.

5. The characters became synonymous with the actors playing it. (Anjali too)

6. The fans were not the ordinary aunties who wanted to kill time till uncles came home for dinner, and so that they can wrap up the kitchen for the day.

7. The fans were of the new internet savvy generation.

8. The fans were following the show so minutely that every dialogue, action, expression, colour scheme, dress, set, BD's etc were all magnified out of proportion, ripped apart and was given a meaning in relation to the continuation of the story.

9. The story was dissected time and again to give a new meaning and justification to the episode (even crap)

10. The fans got hooked to the true love concept and started visualising self in the characters.

11. The fans started thinking that having come this far another lead as ASR with Kushi will be blasphemous.

12. Kushi cavorting with another character after ASR death will be equal to adultery.

13. Rabbave became the signature tune of only ASR and Kushi.

14. The fans became possessive of the show so much that even the BG's in the show became synonymous with the show itself.

15. Fans in the end started watching the show (read crap) only for a glimpse of the leads.

With all the above and more (please feel free to add) how could the show continue without BS. The PH was burying its head in mud without knowing that their show was creating history in the big bad world. They were thinking that their show was just one more serial run in the mill, among all the others and not one out of the others. They failed to understand the power they had in their hands and failed to make the most out of it.

I for one am very happy that the show was stopped by US. There is no need for more crap in the name of modernity (read conveniently falling in and out of TRUE love).

IPK created history when it started and it created history in the way it ended. A unique end to a unique epic.

I am sure this incident will pave way for quality conscious shows instead of cuckolding the audience while the PH and the channel run laughing all the way to the bank.

What more need to be said when there was no story line at all, no promos, no rabba veys, no romance after wedding, useless tracks not connected to the story line, OTT tracks, introduction of new characters when the existing ones were not used properly, hasty closure of the long running track, no logic to the closure of the loop started with the first episode etc. The crowning glory was the ultimate insult that the PH has exhausted their story line.

Are we fans so brainless to swallow all this and still say the PH was not at fault ?? The channel is equally to be blamed because their main interest was in the revenue and the rest be damned. If the actors and the story and the culture has to be sacrificed to this end then so be it. SP can very well shoulder this blame. The PH and channel have social responsibilities too. They have to be culture conscious and cannot show people falling in and out of love just for their show to clock time. There is a limit to getting in and out of marraige as the PH's would like us to believe.

So why are US the fans blaming ourselves for the shows closure. Be proud fans , we brought a channel and a PH who thought that US the fans are not sheep who will only bleat acceptance to all their actions swallowing any crap shown. No other forum could do it. We the IPPKNDian's, Sarunian's Arshian's, BS fans, SI fans did it.

Now that we have proved that the audience have a say in the way a show is run, hopefully there will be positive changes in the outlook of how a serial has to be shown on telly.

As regards the actors, they are in the profession and will come time and again to entertain us in BW or TW. They have the talent as proved time and again. So let us wait and see before passing verdict on them. I am sure they will enthral us again.

So what say ???

I still doubt that they had a clear picture of the popularity of their show. Above all, arshi grew as larger than life characters, so no one could stop their growth as it was the viewers who made them this big.

A very good post, genuine doubts. I have asked the same question when sanaya first disclosed about Barun's one-year contract with the PH in Raj's interview. As you said they might have been under the impression that they can convince him if the show is doing good and this might be the reason that he extended his contract with them, whatever.

I fought for Arshi and for the love story I was offered. They were talking about a star-crossed love story and suddenly now says true love can happen again in life as it is needed for the show? I still believe it differs from person to person, so no arguments from my side, but for me it is only once in a lifetime. It was not agreeable for me to see khushi romancing with someone, especially when Arnav sacrificed his life for saving her (as per LM), if there were people who were ready to accept this, they should have fought for that, so it is again not my headache. Again the main thing, I wish if we were the reason behind the show's end, then only we can say that this was shut down as per the demand of the viewers, but it is certainly not. It is not the people, but the channel who decided to shut the show down for some of their interests.

Sanaya is a true professional, did she get any justice from this PH? What was her role towards the end of the show? How strong character was Khushi, it suddenly lost all charm and it was sanaya whose performance did the justice to the character and that was the only reason I loved khushi of late.

As you said, new characters were introduced continuously while the existing once were serving as statues or pillars of RM without even a single dialogue. I said the same thing before also.

I don't know whom to blame, but I can blame me very well as I was committed to this show this much, which was not needed. That is it.

Bang on post!! 👏

What were the PH and channel thinking... so much for "nayi soch". And I guess the idea of social responsibility becomes a bit lost when a new baby comes along and there's money to be made from multiple marriages not even closely representing modern society and live events where two popular actors are the ones who bring in the big crowds 😕

Nice analysis😊

Good to know and remember exact cause

Earlier it was only CVs but nowadays fans also suffer partial amnesia

They forgot why they got the show closed and suddenly start Thanking Gul and blaming Barun😆

Nobody wanted the show to end...neither did they want to see Khushi as a widow and marrying Viraf😡

As the channel failed to convince the makers and actor to co-exist, the show ended!!!!

Ur post was most sensible and highlights fan power

Well written👏
