WHO AM I
Who am i
i still dont know
A bird in a cage,or a river that flows
unboundedly restricted or boundildy freed
I still havnt found where the zenith is
opening my eyes in this world
To live and love,laugh and have fun
with a gentle heart and a strong mind
Possessing it with all my might
a princess to some,a curse to others
An angel or a witch
some showered love,some kept hopes
Some gave instructions,some shot insults
like a piece of doll that run with keys
I still stood calm
determined to make the mark
Keeping faith inside
i slowly started taking tiny steps
In the jorney of life
each step was like a mile
as i never had anyone by my side
Many thoughts crossed while passing each sight
to experience what lays besides
But something stopped me from taking the leap
what it was or is
A fear or chain that bounded the feet
whatever it was,it still resides
Getting strong with every passing night
A world to who, i was unknown
a world i can never call my own
Not because i didnt have the courage to live
because i was never allowed to live
The life that surrounds
was not that i dreamt of
As it was surrounded by walls from every side
where there lay conditons and expectations nomatter which direction u turned ur head towars left or right
To behave in a way that was predecided
conducting in a manner that was a requsite
Cant Laugh loud and wear what i want
because u never know ur any step could bring everything to a halt
Sometimes being a girl of the house
a daughter,sister or a wife
A mother or donning any other hat that has to be fulfilled never failing at any plight
Performing each role with perfection
time flew with every passing succession
not knowing what i lost
I kept going ahead never measuring what was that i lost
in being an ideal,daughter,mother,wife
I forgot that there were some wishes and dreams
that lays buried now deep inside
Still being content to bring a smile
on the faces of those whom iloved with my every might
Days turned into decades
steps into miles
In the journey of life
i walked ahead leaving everything aside
In a world away far away from every stalk
the relations and boundations breaking it all
where i may get a chance to live
but still there are some uestions to which i want answers still
a dream that couldnt meet the reality
a life that could have been
Only if was given a chance to breathe at ny own will
if god has given me birth then i should live
On my conditions and my rules
why do its always about others and never me
Sometimes family,relatives or the special him
a girl who has dreams and hopes
Who want to scream and shout on the top of voice
not being concerned about how loud is the noise
To live a life
where i will fall only to grow more tall
On my own values and thoughts
to dance in the rain ,to sing a song
walk On a road in the chilly midnight
with only stars and moon being my companions besides
to not fear the unknown
Running without any restrictions or boundations known
learning from the mistakes i made
So what if everytime the cake burnt that i baked
to shop till i drop
To bloom like a sunflower or a rose
in beach full of people or a closed room
What matters is i am content nomatter if i am happy or gloom
to standup for myself when i am right
Not fearing what is there to lose in this fight
we get life once to live
So why pass it just like a drill
a girl is the one who brings life into light
Each of us shall live with our head held high
turning dreams into a beautiful reality
with days smiling wide and nights dazzling bright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS - A POEM THAT MY HEART WROTE ON ITS OWN ACCORD,IT WAS LIKE THE FINGERS TYPED ,CALL IT AN INTROSPECTION OR JUST SOME THOUGHTS BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE EVERY GIRL CAN CONNECT WITH IT AT SOME OR THE OTHER POINT,BEING A GIRL IS A BLESSING NOT A CURSE AND THIS CAN ONLY BE PROVED IF WE STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS,BE IT A SIMPLE THNG OR TOUGH,A FLEETING DESIRE OR A PASSING THOUGHT,WE HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE ON OUR OWN ACCORDS,TO LIVE A LIFE WE DREAM OF SO WHAT OF ITS NOT A CAKEWALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
