I can happily cite an example from my own life -

Today I spend approx 6 hours chatting with my friends at home on causal topics & then the concept of watching serials came about. So like a normal IPK fan I mentioned IPK with alot of excitement guess what they did not even know such a show existed they have only heard the name of it very vaguely & wondered how how come I knew about it at all ?? I told them about my hatred towards Anjali that is how the topic of serials come about in the first place. I told them about Barun & Sanaya they never either. At the most they saw a pic of Sanaya that is about it. They sounded completely blank about this.So I had to shift the topic to else where.

When I go on bus rides to reach my destinations for the day no one knows about IPK or the ridiculous & unhealthy craze over Barun Sobti. They are just bothered about whether they will reach home safely, salary issues, holidays, deadlines to be met extra. They now about the basic stuff that so & so movie will release with respect to their children & social circle. No one even knows the actress opposite whom Baru Sobti is acting with.

So both the age groups teens - working section are not aware of IPK so forget about Barun Sobti.

I completely fail to understand why is Barun Sobti who is unknown to the world outside IF so much of a BIG deal ??

Comparing Barun Sobti with Aamir Khan. Fairy, you are going to make a lot of people on this forum happy today!

I don't get the adulation honestly. I remember 12 years ago when I woke up at 3am to see Hrithik Roshan's wedding pics .. and had a huge poster of his in my room .. and spoke about him 24X7 .. but then he started choosing flop movies and I bashed him. I mean why do people blindly love an actor, I fail to understand.

What does Barun have. . looks? Yes, he did look hot before he signed MAMR .. but after that he didn't even bother to shave or cut his hair and look good. Acting skills? Yes, when the direction, editing and/or script is strong. What am I missing .. why don't I see what the majority of the forum sees in Barun? I do see however plenty of reasons why he might fail .. he doesn't have the personality that fits BW. Every time he opens his mouth, he says something wrong he shouldn't say. And worse he is too arrogant for someone who only has a B-grade movie.

I googled for the name Mitali Ghosh .. nothing came up related to Bollywood .. so I guess the answer is no. This is also another low budget movie, that is going to rely on Barun's fame as ASR.

That said, I wish him all the success in BW. I know for sure if I do watch a movie of his, it won't be for him! But then again he doesn't need me .. he has "millions" of fans whose hearts are touched by his hurt, his pain and his love!

I had read he had an offer from Ekta Kapoor as well..but he did not mention that in his interview, so not sure about that piece of news as of now.
