'I DON'T NEED TO JUSTIFY MYSELF'

Barun Sobti says that his exit from his TV show was misunderstood, adds he's not working till April.Barun Sobti's abrupt exit from his hit TV show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, made news and, today weeks after the show has gone off air, he maintains he quit because he wanted a break.He insist that although he has signed on a new film, he won't be working at all for the next five months.

1. How do you look back at your exit from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

I left the show simply because I wanted a break.(SP NOW WHEN I CALL...DARE TO TELL ME..HE LEFT FOR MOVIES😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡) I wanted some personal time. But it was made out to be something else. I have been spending all my time with family lately. They were extermly upset that I haven't been able to be with them in the last couple of years.

2. What's been the feedback on the show going off air?

I actually met a few friends the other day, and everyone was discussing the same thing. I realized no one knew exactly what I want. Every time I tried to explain, my words were misunderstood. I kept saying I wanted personal time as I had been working for long, and that was the sole reason, I am free for the next five months but people still think I left for a movie role. I think only my wife understands me.

I don't expect anything from anyone. I am a simple guy, but the way I am being projected is so different. I don't feel the need to justify myself. I have decided to let things go as I have to carry on working. I have come out of this feeling more thankful to my audience for their love and support. Words can't express how grateful I am.

4. We heard you have signed your second film.

Yes I have. It is directed by Mitali Ghosh, an ex-sports journalist and produced by MS productions. The film is based on cricket, with many important characters. We will start work shops for the same in January and shoot in April.
