If it is possible to bring them back for a season 2, then they would have been able to retain them for season 1. What couldn't be done then I don't think so can be done now.

Also I think SP is just playing with the sentiments of people and are earning a lot by these calls.

Anywhichways it is your time and money. I will pray that your efforts don't go in waste and you are not heartbroken.
