This, perhaps, is ending that would have held up the title of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, of Nafarat Paas Aane Na De - Mohabbat Door Jaane Na De, of the star-crossed hate-love story.
Although I hate, actually, I absolutely despise sad endings. But I think here you've upheld the true essence of IPK, the pain and separation while also giving us a happy ending, leaving us with a smile on our faces.
This was brilliant. Absolutely amazing. And in all honestly, I would have not minded this ending. I would have relished it as the ASR finally came to realization of Khushi's worth. I would have cried for Khushi, but smiled for the hope that resided in little Arshi of a new beginning.
