After kidnapping track,I was waiting for khushi to get shot and a redemption track(that word is overused in the forum I know)..Nothing of that sort happened..Whatever happened to that track..!!

Character inconsistency has more examples..i will cite 2 of them..forgot the rest..
1)Khushi wanting to have crackers during this diwali .She had lectured Lavanya about the child labour involved in crackers making and how people should stay away from crackers during last Diwali..amnesia amnesia😆..!!

2)Let us assume that guptahouse is a character..😉,during earlier episodes,that was a property owned by buaji.Later it became a rented one..amnesia amnesia😆

Regarding storyline, how khushi is responsible for Arnav's horrible past is not yet clear..It was garima who was the other woman, not Khushi..Past track was a wet cracker..no dhamaka at all !!!..Infact,tagline was not followed at all after the hate marriage..

Spoilers were helpful sometimes but not always..!!

The fact is that the CV's lack self confidence BIG time!!..OR dunno whether it was due to the channel interference..The way the tracks were handled after february was so not IPKKND like..
Asking for track idea through the internet and showing something different in TV didn't look professional..

OK I was ranting over split milk..!!suddenly realizing that the show was over days ago.!!

But I sincerely thank Gul &Co for giving this wonderful show though with some flaws..I will always cherish this show .Arnav and Khushi will be always special for me..

Thank you for pointing those inconsistency examples. I have a horrible memory so completely forgot but that is what I am talking about! The inconsistency was so annoying, I hated how the characters were one minute but would change the other
We even got a promo for that; Khushi being linked to Arnav's past! But they never showed it and instead that track ended so abruptly. You're right, CVs lack confidence. If they had it, the tracks wouldn't be changing every other minute, they themselves had no clue on how to handle the storyline!
I'm thankful to them as well, but they were the ones who made this amazing show and they are also the ones who ruined it.
Thanks for your reply! :)

and I agree... I often wonder what went wrong? well today...I have my answers.

No but seriously... it seemed like after the holi track nothing was same, nothing at all. It changed into something else. I couldn't recognize the characters anymore.

I wonder whether they were the same people writing the script who wrote it int he beginning...how can they butcher the characters like this? It's a shame if you look at what we could have had...and we lost it.

...it was already dying and then *BLASSST* and everything got over.

I'm not surprised though... with the way they were going about it...something had to happen sooner or later.

But I still can't believe they forgot to close so many important loopholes and introduced unneeded tracks. It's a pity.

The show failed at so many levels...on it's way to become an EPIC. It's kind of like emperor Humayun's story!

There are way too many loopholes. They would start tracks and forget to show a proper ending. You're right. Holi was amazing! ❤️ I loved those scenes, but after that, the show was unrecognizable.
I wasnt surprised that the show ended. That's what I said too, it doesnt hurt that it ended, what hurts is an amazing show was butchered.

I suppose this is a never ending dicussion: what went wrong with IPKKND? No matter how much of a diehard IPK fan you are, you cannot deny IPK has had one of the worst tracks, and characterizations. The first 8-9 months were brilliant. That show was IPK, the show which became an international hit. Everything about it was phenomenal. But after that, I couldn't recognize it. They destroyed it completely. I feel many things caused the downfall for it, amongst which are:

  • Poorly written storyline
  • Inconsistency in characterizations and storyline

Storyline: "Nafrat pas aane na de, Mohabbat door jane na de" <--- This was the tagline for the show. Did they stick to it till the very last episode? No. The concept of the story was brilliant. The angry guy and bubbly girl concept has been done many times before but IPK was different. They started off so well but lost it midway.

Inconsistency: Not only in the storyline but also in characterizations. I think it's safe to say, Khushi was the most inconsistent character? One minute, she would be bold, fierce and intelligent - the Khushi we fell in love with - and the other, she would be a senseless OTT character. A character we all once loved, became the character that would make us cringe. There was absolutely no consistency there. It is hard to believe the Khushi who came with the brilliant plan to expose Shyam, was the same one we saw during the disastrous Sheetal track.
Viewers: Why were they so concerned with what we had to say? It's completely fine to take feedback from the viewers', infact they should. We make or break this show. Everytime a good track would start, a bunch of viewers would protest against it, and in a couple of days, the track would end and something else would be shown. The sudden endings, the fast paced tracks left us confused and annoyed. Why couldn't they just alter the track a bit, if the viewers meant that much to them? Why end it altogether? We were practically doing their job for them. If the viewers weren't happy, it would end, if they were, the track would continue. Who were the CVs? Them or us?
IPK was a phenomenal show. It didn't become an international hit for no reason. It had an amazing concept with two of the best actors as its leads: Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani. They brought the characters ASR and KKG to life, who clicked with the audience, and their chemistry was undeniable. I wish this show had maintained the essence it began with, and the characters weren't butchered.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
agree with the above points.

Thanks for this very important post. Hope the IPK creative team read this! I have read many posts complaining about shows of 4 Lions, that they all have a great start, several months of mind blowing episodes, and then they are lost.

IPK was the only show I watched. For me, IPK was flawless from June 2011-November 2011. Except a few problems here and there, the show was going great post November 2011. I was on cloud nine when Arnav was about to propose Khushi - the bindi scene. But the too long...terrace Shyam/Khushi hug scene, for the first time, disturbed me.

I strongly feel that IPK team should have strictly followed the tagline "nafrat paas...mohabbat ..dey" and before the end of the 6 months contract marriage, should have separated Arnav and khushi from each other. After contract marriage, I lost my ASR and Khushi of June 2011-March 2012 who made me Arshiholic. Can't express how much Khushi comedy irritated me.

Remarriage was a total blunder. As I mentioned before, the creative team should have followed the IPK tagline. Everything went downhill after Haldi ceremony. Sangeet was horrible. Remarriage was done hastily and couldn't enjoy at all due to the tension created by Dadiji. Arshi Suhaag Raat made me feel that I was watching the suhaag raat of prison inmates, with surveillance cameras on. Sheetal track? in one word "disgusting." Wish I could forget those ridiculous Sheetal-Aarav episodes.

Completely agree with you. Just post this damn thing on the 4Lions Facebook page. They ought to know how stupidly they destroyed one of the beautiful shows on Indian TV. I don't blame anyone other than 4Lions for the closure of the show. They just couldn't handle the success this show got them and somehow I feel it is better that the show ended rather than dragged. And I absolutely would have hated Khushi marrying the killer of Arnav had the show gone on.

Compare ASR back in the days then & compare him now and you will see the differences!

I find all tracks after the kidnapping track very lame. It's just ArHi that always pull the show up the show had very talented actors but the stories after the kidnapping track were all bad. The past track we waited so long for was weak I expected way more from it. The acting from Barun and Sanaya the wedding week was really good that was what got me glued to the screen.

The Shyam exposing to Anjali track should have been longer

Good points.
I too love the ASR of the first 7 months. Never a fan of the loveydovey ASR.

Very well written. I agree with you. I don't know why people blame Barun for closure of the show when makers themselves were ruining show. Had the storyline great, all characters given some screenspace may be Barun would not have thought of leaving.I think his leaving the show has more to do with butchering of ASR because he once said he misses ASR's anger. Why would he be ready to play just SP dikra.?
PH & SP never promoted Ipkknd. Costumes, sets were in poor condition. No celebrity ever come to Ipkknd while all other less popular shows had celebrities visiting. There were no celebration by PH on completion of 50, 100 , 200, 300 episodes or 1 year. Only cast & crew were celebrating. I never saw Gul Khan & co. She was there to celebrate closure of the show. All other PH hoses like rajan shahi, shashi sumit mittal always throw parties.
Those viewers who were earlier complaning about story, crappy tracks are now suddenly started praising the show & blaming poor Barun for its closure.

nice post.
and it makes sense.Even i always think the same.I do not blame anyone for whatever happened apart from story. And actor, never. Its his life and he has full right to take his decision. And I also do not believe in any conspiracy or any unsaid gesture.
I started watching this show for story not for any actor or character. What i liked was the way all characters were written. The sketching of character was so nice, practical and balanced. But after hate marriage and much before kidnapping things changed.I always wanted to see the nafrat+ love track but after some months i guess they changed the tagline.
The biggest flaw was according to promo Khushi is responsible for Arnav's past. But it never happened.I badly wanted to hear this promo dialogue "kaash main tumse mohabbat kar pata...kaash main tumse nafrat kar pati.."
Then the sister-sister relation,brother-sister relation was never the same.
I did not even liked the way Shyam's character was closed. He was a smart villain but at the end all of a sudden he fall into a stupid trap and confess himself.
Viewers demanded to show re-marriage and there the drama failed.I wish re-marrigae would not have happened the show would not have lost the craze.Actually after re-marriage i feel show started loosing its charm.I remember Gul mentioned in her interview with Barun that they had planned to ASR much dark but they never did actually.I don't know why?May be because of channel and viewer's interference.
I always felt the CVs did not plan things. They show an episode, wait for viewer's response and then they decide the futre.Like consummation track,Sheetal's track and many others. They got too much dependent on viewers.
Even during Viraf's entry they were not sure whether they will bring him as ASR or another character.Or may br they were sure but not disclosed to public.
Then i would like to add one more thing. This India Forum has many disadvantages. Here people are too much negative.During DKS track initially all viewers were not unhappy with the track but after visiting the forum there were so many negative post that even the viewers who were liking the track they also lost interest. And then with so much of negativity Daljeet had to give the interview. So again I will say too much of discussions and PH too much of transparency and listening to viewers proved to be bad.
Then disclosing about the actors leaving, negotiating and their personal lives again affected the show.People became very much interested in what going offscreen.
Character inconsistency- i guess one of the major reason that these actors left and that includes Daljeet's negotiation and Barun's dis satisfaction.People say Barun looked disinterested after kidnapping track but i will say his character was totally butchered after kidnapping track. The so called long old promised of redemption track never happened.
But with the IPK team i will also blame the viewers for too much of interference, negativity.Their crave for too much of information.Their post bashing actors or characters. This show's over popularity killed the show itself.
I have no complains to the PH,actors or any other cast and crew and neither do i blame any one for anything.I feel i got enough information what were needed at that point of time. And neither do i feel the show closed because of fans.I feel if the makers wanted they could have anyways continued. Its a business decision and there must be many other things going offscreen which we are not aware of.I believe the actors and PH interviews, their twitter over any articles or any unreliable sources.
At the end of the day I am happy that show got over because since months it was dragging.Because IPK is not like any other daily soap which can continue till years. It was a beautiful show and every beautiful thing has a good start and a good end.I did not want to see the show loosing its viewers gradually and then the show is left with no option other that shutting it down.Though the end could have been much better.
Having all said and done I am happy this show happened. This was my 1st and may be last indian hindi Tv show. And IPK will always remain a special show.Hats off to the whole IPK team for creating this wonderful show.No other show can have the same spark which IPK had and still have.Everything was well chosen and I agree with what Barun said "This show had a holy connect"
