Zehra..Can I hug you for this...you just put everything into perspective...If Barun Sobti has come out and been honest 2 months ago we would not have a show which is ending and leaving 200 people jobless...I am disappointed in Barun and the fans of IPK Who believe that Barun is the one who runs the show...What happened to the rest of the cast...The PH And Gul are not to be blamed here...We are suffering because fans were selfish enough to shut down a top running show...I am disgusted and hurt Bas

Even without the EKta Kapoor movie news i had always maintained that he has something up his sleeve..maybe sometime next year...but something promising...

Otherwise who in their sane mind would leave a well established career ..and go for an international holiday for a month..when he says that he is Jobless...doesn make sense...which lead me to belive he is not telling the truth..

I have been an ardent fan since day1 of ipk...i didnt know he existed before that ...

I wish he would have come clean..I still wish him well...but i am no longer fond of him as I used to be...cant help it..He gave a lot of Heartache and Headache...

Frankly... I never believed the conspiracy theories. I always maintained that people were reading too much into the Barun quitting issue. Barun is an actor and has every right to leave the show... whether for personal reasons or pursuing movies. I think the production house understood this and hence allowed him to move on. I think the production house may have even wanted to end the story there coz they too felt that the lovers had united and if the main lead wanted to quit what would they show in the future and thats when they probably wrote the open letter to the viewers. But I think the channel had always believed that character was bigger than the actor and hence wanted to continue the show with a new lead. Unfortunately the timing was during the launch of qubool hai which is what lead people to start the conspiracy theories.
As an actor Barun handled it professionally he gave his 2-3 month notice and gave the production house and the channel sufficient time to figure out what they wanted to do with the story.
As for his reasons for quitting... maybe he was not allowed at that point to talk about his movie offers coz nothing was concrete and maybe he didnt want to talk about it till something had materialized. Either way he said he wanted a break and maybe thats true who knows. He may not have signed anything as yet... he may want to explore bollywood ... but as of now no information is concrete its all just speculation.
Production house too was never at fault in this whole Barun quitting issue .. they understood that he wanted to move on to greener pastures as does any working professional and they granted him that. They had seen his commitment to the show when he worked double shifts to do MAMR and IPK. Gul seemed genuinely fond of Barun and once u are good friends like the cast and the crew is they understood Barun's dilema and as friends wanted what was best for him and hence no one in the cast and crew holds anything against him for wanting to move on.
Sanaya, Daljeet, Akshay, Abhaas, Gul etc all have only praises for him.
Lastly coming to the channel... they have experience that the character is what makes the show and hence they were convinced that after replacing Barun the show would continue just fine after a minor setback. But maybe the fans demands and the recation to Barun and Sanaya pairing at Star Parivar live made them realise the power of their jodi and hence overnight decided that their show would be nothing without either of them. Had Sanaya been the one to quit also I think the show would have ended.
Its unfortunate that the channel realised this so late in the game and had to take an over night decision to end the show with Barun and Sanaya. I wish they had listened when the production house had told them that they should end the show ( As per mishti the production house had decided a while back that they would end the show if Barun quit... she had put up that spoiler a while back if u guys remember) if Barun had decided to leave. Then the show would have gotten a conclusive end the actors and team would have had a good amount of notice to look for other work and would have been mentally prepared to bid adieu to the show.
So in this whole mess of quitting i actually blame no one.
Its unfortunate that it had to end the way it did. But there is no one we should blame. I think in a way IPK will always be remembered coz it did not fade into oblivion like other shows. It ended when people still loved it. Khushi and Arnav will be unforgotten characters.

a show that started on a good note..ending with a bitter taste in my mouth...
