people forget that behind every successful man, there is the hand of a woman.

ASR was alluring...because Khushi withstood him.

True story (albeit paraphrased):

Barak and Michelle Obama were having dinner in some hotel. The owner of the hotel happened to be Michelle's college boyfriend. Before starting dinner he came and chatted a bit with Michelle and left.

Barak asked his wife who it was.

She told him it was a college boyfriend - who had proposed to her, but she hadn't accepted.

Barak said imagine if you were his wife - you would be the wife of a hotel chain owner.

Michelle said: no, if i was his wife, he would have been the President of United States.

Enough said.

Loved it...
In American politics two women inspire me,...
Hillary clinton & michelle...
It's so amazing starting from being sanitation worker's daughter to a Harvard educated lawyer...
She was his boss at a law firm...now she is the boss every single day...
I just like those women who have self respect,dignity...

Sorry to say but ASR role was nothing new. A anti-hero being the main lead of a serial has been done many times. Heck on another channel an out and out inhumane villain is the main lead of the show. So no point in comparing like that to elevate the mightinees of ASR.
All I will say is this. Guls M&B addiction gave us a very good, strong characterization of ASR. That combined with Barun's portrayal elevated the role of ASR.
If anything Kushi character was something new for SP channel. Even to date, there are very few heroines on SP channel, in prime time slot, who were given the strength and cofidence and fighting spirit Kushi had the first 6 months of this serial. She never wilted and cried rivers and prayed to God to give her strength to face her tormentors.
It is only fitting then that the first and last shots are on Kushi. But who knows, they may use a canned shot of BS as part of the last shot. But even then, we would know, that is a canned shot and hence the real end shot will be of Kushi.
ASR had La. Kushi had changed the behavior of almost every character in that serial. Turned ASR into Arnav. Turned La into someone everyone loved. Even turned around Mami during the kidnapping tracks. Anjali also could not be mad at her for too long and melted.
There is not other character who gave respect as much as Kush gave to other characters including HP and the Goat.
That is what Kushi always stood for. In between the characterization went for a toss, but to me, if anything, at all, Kushi and ASR character both fed off each other and hence neither is ASR role iconic nor Kushi role. If Kushi's characterization was not compromised her role would have been iconic because no other SP heroine would come close.

👏

So aptly explained !!!

This is actually the most acceptable ending for me because I wanted this to be a bildungsroman - a coming of age saga for Khushi. That's what drew me to the show in the first place - small town girl moves to the big city - a little naive, fanciful, eccentric, but resourceful, determined and tenacious.

ASR as played by Barun was mostly one dimensional. Even the angst wasn't conveyed adequately excellent occasional flashes of brilliance (mostly around Diwali and Khushi's engagement).

I always wanted Khushi to emerge on her own - cast off a relationship that set her heart aflutter (dhak dhak) but wouldn't have brought her life-long happiness under normal circumstances. All this talk of star crossed lovers really boggles my mind.

Actually I see an Irony, in here.. The first shot was Khushi with her eccentric, loving and dedication to her family to go beyond her means to find happiness for them. Now we get to Khushi n the last shot to prove her worthy that a middle class girl can win a crown , like the elite.
For me this applies to her offscreen presence, she was there as the foundation was put , the walls were built and finally , the end of the process, a finished product, she stuck from the beginning to the end. So she almost portrayed her character offscreen.

While ASR , who considered as God both onscreen and offscreen with no flaws had flaws in his character and went through a metamorphosis because of Khushi, and offscreen left to find his dreams and we got to know the show was just his bread and butter , now will not be shown in the last episode, unsure of his changes in his future. Karma seems to have knocked his door.

Michelle Obama man, one of the finest First Ladies our country has seen.

And this conversation sums up Khushi.
