I don't really know how to say this so I'm going to try and be brief. This forum has really touched my heart. It makes me so, so happy to know that so many people go to such great extents and such extremes at the injustice over the death of a fictional character.

I didn't know that people could be so kind and considerate and care so much about their fellow humans that the potential death of ONE MAN who isn't even REAL could rile you to protests, boycotts, tears, threats, suicide... Such unity. It's truly impressive.

I mean, this man is somebody's son. Somebody's husband. Somebody's brother. He could one day be a father. He has a life and friends and family. How DARE they even THINK we could ever accept him being senselessly murdered for seemingly no reason? How can some big, bad bully possibly imagine that they can ruthlessly attack and belittle and demonise him and assume that the world will just stand SILENTLY by and LET them do this...

But wait...

How many of you are doing the same for the real people being massacred in Gaza? How many of you could say that you care for the REAL mothers and daughters and sisters and fathers and brothers and sons being killed for absolutely no reason in their homes half as much as you care for someone who doesn't even exist? The hundreds being killed every day, the babies who sleep in their cold, windowless houses with cotton in their ears to block out the sound of gunshots and exploding bombs, the ambulances carrying wounded grandmothers blockaded by the IDF, the children of an entire nation being orphaned, the 20 year old teacher hit by an artillery shell in front of her entire class of kindergarten students.

And the whole world just stands back and watches silently. Or worse yet- they just don't know.

Ignorance is NOT an excuse anymore.

And this is just Gaza.

Thousands of people are dying every single day. Thousands of people are being hurt. Families are being torn apart. The world is an awful place and while some of you sit here threatening to kill yourself over a freaking TV SHOW, there are people out there fighting for the same life you so carelessly wish to throw away.

So wake up.

Grow up.

And smell the bloodshed.

Stop harassing Star Plus and maybe start paying some attention to Star News instead. Russia Today is (yes, unexpectedly) particularly good.

If you're going to protest something, make sure it's a worthy cause and not something so pathetically irrelevant as to be laughable.

And don't leave me comments about how Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is your life and soul and you'll die without it. No you won't- You're just a ridiculous human being and you have no sense of perspective to speak of. Grow the heck up.

You couldn't have put it better.

I know what it feels like to get so attached to a fictional character and then see it being destroyed, but there's a LIMIT.

and it has been crossed a long time back.

sometimes people get so lost in a fantasy world that they forget that an actual reality exists, where bad things happen to real people. If they'd only put in half the effort and emotion in doing something for real people who are actually affected by these things.

Thank you for trying to bring people back to ground reality, but I'm afraid some..sorry..most have grasped pretty hard there, will be difficult to get through to them.

really a sensible post...real world is actual..reel world is fake...it's high time that people start taking issues seriously...even UN could not do anything...but its people who can do this...alas

I am doing a lot in my personal life to help others in my own little ways. I don't want to share any of them here because I believe in helping and serving those who deserve it and not in publicizing my efforts towards it. I agree with you, but at the same time I support these ppl too.

Okay. Won't comment on what I have done(or tried to do) for Gaza. Personal stuff.

Coming to the protests and the calls and the petitions and the "Save Barun Save IPK Save SaRun" tattoos on everyone's kidneys..

Just one thing.

No.One.Cares.

It's stupid. None of you is going to die without twenty minutes of bullmonkockery everyday. So drop it.

Even if they can't do anything, it's just the lack of awareness. The lack of care. People acting like Barun Sobti quitting is the worst thing that could have possibly happened anywhere ever and it's like- if they knew about what was going on in the world, this pathetic, irrelevant stuff to do with the show wouldn't matter to them.

And if they DO know and just don't care- then it's just heartless and I don't want anything to do with people like that.

The uproar has just been SO disproportionate. If this post alerts even ONE childish, uninformed fool as to what REALLY matters and what they SHOULD be crying about, then mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.
