The biggest smoking gun for the theory that Sobti doesn't like the TV actor tag is the fact that he never attended any TV award show or TV party apart from the Star Parivar awards. I think he attended the Khamoshiyan launch partly for Sanaya and partly because I believe Sai and Shakti were producers for BHPH.
