And that quote from your letter to your niece, wow, that's written so beautifully and so aptly describes this amazing actor.

P.S. There is this one scene that I would like to mention, the one where ASR says to Khushi, "Welcome to Hell, Ms. KKG" There is something about this scene that just lingers on in the mind. The way he tilts his head and challenges her, that perfect combination of a gloat, smirk and a sneer on his arrogant face (and he did arrogant so well, Barun was really phenomenal as the ASR, wasn't he?)

There is this scene in North & South (have you watched it?) where Margaret Hale is writing to her cousin at the end of the first episode (not in the book, only the dramatized version), and she writes "I believe i have seen hell and it's white, it's snow white." This she writes after a visit to the cotton mill and the 'haunting' connotations she sees during her visit.

Not that this has anything to do with the show but for some strange reason, I get goosebumps when I hear ASR say "Welcome to Hell". For some reason, the moment he said that, I was taken back to N&S, and not just because the word hell was mentioned. I just felt there was so much more to this scene than I can describe.

Oh! and his voice, I can write pages about his voice. It's velvety and soft-timbered, husky in ardor, sort of a low baritone, it's very softness can be one's undoing, imo:-)))

If this is the way I reserve, I cannot imagine, what I will write when I unreserve this😆

Di, this is 'soul' soup for the heavy, weary heart...a panacea like none other...If I start on my journey, I won't know where to end, because it can never end. The character is eternal, and will always remain so. The creator of this character may have forgotten what and whom she penned, but I haven't; we haven't. And its all thanks to one man who embodies him to perfection, no matter how imperfect everything is around him.

I will revisit this thread, and I am sure some other iteration(s) of it when I return...'Til then the eyes, the floppy hair, the smirks, the sarcasm, the white, the grey and everything in between stays with me...😊

thanks for the reminder that hell is where we all want to be with that man you describe in the most perfectly chosen words.

haven't seen n&s, will try to, now that i read this.

and in red, "husky in ardor... softness can be one's undoing." you are a writer, and a pretty fine one. relishing the words, taking my mind to the cause of such expression, the voice. hands shaking already.
