Taking a break, actually. Not leaving.

Sure, its his life. But Im going to be truthful about one thing; I refuse to watch the show with his replacement. Even for a little while.

It just doesn't work out for me [or the numerous people out there]

Why do you say he has deceived fans? Because he says he is leaving and taking a break? And he might not be coming back? Did you ever stop to think why he is saying this at this time? He could have done this before, why now? And as I mentioned previously, sometimes actors have to say and do certain things that their employers tell them to. As for his break before, he could have left at that time. But he didn't. He came back for his fans. And for his break now, why is he taking a break now? Perhaps he was pressured to do so. We don't the politics at play here. But if I had to trust Barun or the PH, I would trust Barun any day, no contest!

I am sorry that you feel this way about Barun and his leave. Some fans will be angry and he will lose some of his fans. Think about this, though. So, as long as you were getting what you wanted, that was fine. Now he wants something (remember, we still do NOT know the real reason of his leave) he is not allowed! That's pretty selfish - you are guilty of doing exactly what you accuse him of! You should in fact be showing him your love and support! Unconditionally! Like a true fan!

Very well said TM. It is indeed appalling to see how much venom people live with in this forum. Just imagine, so much hatred bubbling in them, waiting for an outlet. Well, at least, they get some release by vomiting it all out. Barun's always been the punching bag of the forum. No matter what happens, he is always the one to blame.

But, I guess, brickbats are as much a part of being in the public eye as adulation is. There are extremes and there is a median of sanity within this spectrum, which his true fans will fall within. And wish him luck with his life and future endeavors.

The show has become such a farce these days, the characters I started watching for have morphed into unidentifiable beings. I can neither connect with these new characters nor feel for them nor rejoice in their bond, which is such a strange feeling considering there was a time when I could think of nothing but the wonderful connection they portrayed between the two lead characters. The wonderful feeling always lingered and kept me glued to my screen, always watching as soon as the links were made available. Now, it's all gone.

The magic is long gone. I feel forlorn. But that is my problem. Not the actors'. I am under no delusions that any of the actors owe me, as a viewer, anything. They have their own lives and they have the rights to make their own decisions. I do not start watching a show subject to any binding contract (in my mind) with the PH (that they shall, from that day onwards, only show me a track that I WANT to see) with the actor (that, if I get attached to a character they play, he or she shall continue to act that role for me, as long as I WANT to see it). So, if the PH shows me a track that I do not want to see, I just switch. if the actor decides that something is not his cup of tea anymore and quits (or leaves or takes a break) I just decide if I still want to watch the show or not. After all, it is not every show that keeps me engrossed, every character that makes me so attached to it. It works both ways. An actor cannot demand that I watch him or her and I cannot demand that he or she stay and entertain me.

The fact is, in my view, that Barun brought ASR to life so flawlessly that even though it was a flawed character he was portraying, I could connect, relate and empathize with the character from day 1. The first six months of the show, for me, have been spectacular and the ASR that Barun portrayed was phenomenal (my view). That will always stay in my mind. No matter what happens now, what the real facts are, what the reasons are, good or bad, nothing will ever change that Barun was responsible for entertaining me with one of the most wonderful reel characters I have seen on screen. ASR, as it was conceptualized and portrayed in the first six months, was a dream reel character for me, and I will always remember Barun with affection and admiration for bringing ASR to my life.

Barun is talented and he has the potential to do great things. All I can wish him is good luck and the drive to achieve the goals he has mapped out in his mind. And I wish him happiness. Always.

Fame is a fickle friend anyway. And every person has to live with the weight of the responsibility that the choices he or she makes brings with it. We have nothing to lose here, except something that gives us entertainment. This is his life and livelihood. He has to live with the consequences, not us. Therefore, I will only wish him all the best.

Not everyone has to like the same actor that we do. We have our own opinions. But, in real life, would we wish evil (for want of a better word) to befall someone just because they do something that we do not approve of (even though we have no real say in the matter)? Because that is just what some people in the forum are doing.

The forum has long been cesspool devoid of simple courtesy and respect. The default mode for discussion, debate, and disappointment is hate mongering venom. This place is off putting and the Mods have never been firm with setting a level of decent discourse.

I am Barun's wellwisher. Onward and upward.
Even if I wasnt his 'fan', i would at the very worst be indifferent. I simply do not understand wishing a REAL person harm and malice.

We own no one and we cannot wish someone to dance to our tunes.

Deceived , Unprofessional ?? When did he do so ??... We all knew from sometime that he is quitting then why all this accusations over and over again??... A majority of the forum praises and worships DM2 for her goodness and selfless acts , why don't they practice it in their real life too !! So much hate and venom for someone whom you are no where related to personally and who has done just one mistake 'to entertain ppl as ASR for 1.5 years' is so damn ugly !! I wish Barun had declared 'He Quits' and not given a damn for the show , PH and Channel!!

What I think is appalling is that one actor's drama has overshadowed what used to be an excellent show.

I think Barun is not cut out for the grind of serials, but having signed up, fans believe him to be theirs for the taking. His leaving is seen as a sign of betrayal, especially by the really young girls out there.

I hate to see Arnav Khushi jodi break, but I think its better than missing in action and BDs all the time. I think another Arnav would be a mistake, but another actor could bring in a refreshing change. Then maybe Barun could have a chance to leave his mark somewhere else and see whether he really wanted to or needed to come back to IPKKND if its still on air.

But don't blame people for their feelings, everyone has a right. You may find it appalling, but many find it appalling that he would leave a show that made him popular, globally, and move on. They've invested their time (a year and a half) in his work, supported him, made him famous and now boom he's dropping them. Its like a bad break-up.

Try and understand how others feel too.
