FACING THE REALITY

Why 1^st film doesn't guarantee any sureshot chances much for a hero in the hindi film industry?

For heroines its still Ok but for heroes the case is totally different. The shell life of a heroine diminishes post 30, reducing them to limited work, being married or doing some women centric films only. Even kajol is successful but she cant do a dhoom 3 kind of a movie but her husband ajay can definitely do. So new actresses have a bigger space to enter and make their foothold. For heroes its totally opposite

Heroes/Actors can continue even post 50's as a lead role and can romance heroines aged their daughter. Because of this factor new actors seem to get lost among the crowd. Neither the old ones retire nor the need for new heroes is created.New heroes come but they are lost among the veterans. A growth of a hero in a film industry is not that rapid. Iam speaking about majority cases. Salman, Ajay Devgan, Akshay, Aamir, are the biggest proof why their career reached peak post 40's . First 14-15 years they did films, received some Hits, but that didn't help. Saif ali khan who started his career in 1990 ,got his first solo hit in 2004 with hum-tum. Only after a certain decade they could reach the status they are enjoying. Having a god father and supporter at each step made them continue their journey. Being star sons also didn't give them direct fame .Just imagine, if they were not supported by some filmmakers then these heroes wud have been nowhere..

Bobby deol would not have been in the Bollywood map after such dismissal failures if he was not a DEOL. First film even if a blockbuster doesn't gurantee a smooth career ahead. I hear a lot of examples of Vicky Donor.No doubt it's a hit but it doesn't gurantee a 5 year long Visa for the lead actor Ayushmann to continue in film industry. Neither he is a daily soap actor.doing VJ is different from potraying a character.He can anytime be a VJ again.

Biggest instance is Hrithik Roshan, After a debut Hit in January 2000 he gave a sequence of flops till 2002. (leave aside K3G, coz that was SRK-kajol film). Producers didn't sign him even though he is a star kid. It was only his father who resurrected his career back in track in Koi Mil gaya in 2003.If he wouldn't be son of a director, his career would have finished.He was saved by his father.

Few days back I was having a casual chat with a casting director and was flipping the pages of her files containing Cv's and Portfolios. She began to narrate some instances which really shook me up. One of the instances was of a good looking talented guy who came from a his city. He did acting in theatre in his own city and was doing a government job sideby there.He moved into Mumbai, gave up his Govt.Job , rented a house in this costly city Mumbai and had been appearing in auditions .Times passed nothing fruitful happened.He sacrificed his valuable Govt job. There are many such instances.Iasked what do people like him do next?? She said they don't return their homes in fear of being ridiculed and having failed.They find some jobs in Crew of production house or end up doing some small temporary roles in Television or films.

Such instances do give me a reality check not to take anything for granted.

I like the confidence of barun. I think he is expecting of getting to work opposite Katrina, priyanka, deepika padukone ,Sonakshi, kareena very soon . All the best.

But will the established successful heroines work with him??

Well what I anticipate from this point is two situations.

If MAMR clicks. Nothing big will change.BS will sign few more movies. 1 or 2 films a year, might be with a goodPH but no big heroine definitely opposite. Why??u alknow.

If MAMR doesnt click, nothing big will change too , he will do some selected movies and keep on trying.

But in both cases the journey to be a commercial mainstream actor is not guaranteed. All depended on god father and luck, if godfather acts as supporter than noproblem even if movie flops, someone will still cast him due to God father. But will there be any God father for him?? Godfather needed first because, that person will help in getting and recommending good projects while luck will come in focus when the film releases.

Amrita rao had hits in the form of Ishq-Vishk, main hoon naa, Vivaah. Vivaah was her last hit film .Luck was there with her but no God father to help her. Despite of a hit, she wasn't able to register her career well. Shilpa shetty got international acclaim from Big brother , got hits and critics thumbs up in movies like Dhadkan, Phir milenge,Apne,Life in a metro but she admits in she never got the chance to work under the Johars and Chopras. That's the sad part of our film industry.

Hope BS is relying not just on luck but a God father too, because Bollywood is not like other professions,its totally a gamble.

All i wish is i dont want to see him back on TV with a show without sanya..Other reason is at present no one other than 4 lions have the capability to create iconic romances . He might work in other PH , other actors..Cant see his demotion in Tv. Better he remain on films, or even doing cameos but dont return in TV .It will pain to see if that show doest do well and remind us of IPKKND and its golden era which we cherished every moment.
