I have seen the forum flooded with posts for Barun and for Sanaya and who deserves an award more
Frankly, This is not about Barun vs. Sanaya
I heard a dialogue somewhere 'Aapke bade hone se hum chote nahi ho jaate' which means just because 'just because you are great it does not mean I am small'
So if Barun has become great due to an award, it does not take away the greatness from Sanaya and visa versa
Neither is Barun undeserving of an award
ASR is a unique character
Barun has lived the role, breathed life into the role
Today Barun towers over the rest of the heroes on TV due to the style, charisma, uniqueness and larger than life impact of the character of ASR.
Some might say it is the role which made him great, but then this role has been played to so much perfection by Barun that now ASR and he are inseparable.
Some say he is not giving his best in acting, he is looking haggard etc. I have always said and maintained that there is only so much a daily soap actor can do----daily.
How can an actor whose every facial move is monitored, 5 days a week, always give perfection? Be realistic. But yes as an actor he needs to be more well groomed about his looks.
All these apart, Barun does deserve the award
But why are we feeling bad for Sanaya?
Because the girl deserves it better than any other heroine on TV
Who can wear rags and look so beautiful?
Who can give her all for a show and not bother about career aspirations?
Who can play the dumbest scripts for Khushi with so much conviction?
Who can carry a show on her delicate shoulders even without a hero?
Who can make Khushi the Khushi of so many people day after day? Believe me there are times she is OTT. But when Khushi is on the screen people actually smile. There is so much liveliness in her character
And for so much talent, sincerity and efforts, it is but natural we expect her to be rewarded.
Tele world stereotypes woman of substance to the likes of people who cry buckets and suffer in silence and show their suffering.
The fact that Khushi's character is written on a light note, with seriousness in between does not take away the fact that it is a rare onscreen character, one which combines so many shades of an ideal woman.
She is not the proverbial abla nari
Nor the cry baby
Not sugary sweet goody goody
Nor all lovey dovey
She is passion and fire one minute and gentle and sweet the next and naughty as a kid the other.
So while ASR's character wins due to its difference, Khushi's loses because it is not so typical. So ironic isn't it? Shows that expectations from a woman's character is still so typical and cliche'
So it does feel bad when sincerity is not recognized
When talent is brushed away due to a stereotyped industry
So, you see it is not Barun vs Sanaya
It is simply the question, why not Sanaya?
Which heroine deserves an award more than her?
I really want to know as yet again, as a person who has watched and loved Khushi for 19 months, I see her not even nominated for an award?
Who is to blame?
We the audience?
The stereotypes mentality of award sponsors?
The role?
For me it is the second and second only, aided by the first
Award sponsors go by audience mentality and both are typical about women
But no way is Sanaya at fault for this negligence
