Preparations are on for Karva Chauth and thankfully the CVs bring in a sense of normalcy with Anjali being sad since this is her first KC since finding out about Shyam but Anjali Singh Raizada burned that part of her life to ashes and refuses to let her past affect her present! Hats off to Anjali for emerging stronger than anyone expected.
So Sheetal continues to play a game but Khushi is onto her and picks up on the lies she tells, fortunately it isn't too much of a distraction as Khushi rushes to full her stomach with food before midnight not allowing Arnav to touch or have a bite! This was sanka devi at her best and much like Payal Arnav is convinced Khushi won't be able to go through with this fast, the challenge returns and Khushi is out to prove all wrong!
Khushi has another dream but this one wasn't so satyanash after all, infact it is one I wish hadn't come to an end so soon. Khushi dreams of Arnav breaking Sheetal's fast but this time she doesn't break down she fights back! Khushi claims her haq on Arnav and is ready to snatch the churail's hair out!! Atta girl Khushi, there's hope after all that there will be no mahaan move on her part!
The challenge is on, Arnav finds ways to torture Khushi and worse has his sister in on it. The brother-sister duo team up and tempt not only Khushi but Mami and NK as well, their patience is tested but kudos to these three for putting up one hell of a fight especially given Arnav's persistence
Arnav was not through yet, Khushi joined Manorama by the pool thinking she'll be in peace but leave it to Arnav to test her again and asks her to make him pakodas which is another thing that will never be the same for me again! IPK what you have done to haldi, jalebis and pakodas is seriously unique, never knew those could be so seductive!!
Detective Khushi catches onto Sheetal's lies again, she is fearing the worst but thank goodness for small mercies as Khushi did not dwell too much on it and instead focused on her increasing hunger. The poor girl is hallucinating about food and Arnav sees, he tells her to eat that no one will see but Khushi stresses how important Karva Chauth is to her. Arnav being the ever sweet loving husband apologizes, comforts and wants to know what he can do to make her feel better. Khushi wants the moon but for him she is the moon --- such an aww scene which only got better from there.
Khushi and Arnav dance under the stars to another apt song that suits this match made in heaven jodi, a beautiful moment incorporated with 360s of vintage IPK scenes. What makes this scene complete was Khushi's dialogue "sambhaliye" and Arnav's reply "hamesha sambhalta rahunga"
I knew IPK would come back with a bang but wasn't expecting it to be so soon, what an ME probably their best to date! It was vintage IPK and had everything one could ask for and more! CVs have proven that they can deliver and how! Now if only they can stop letting off screen outbursts ruining their image they would be a force to be reckon with. Hats off to the IPK crew for giving us such a memorable episode.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?
Wow a year ago I started watching this show….. at the time it was about this quirky character Khushi…….. who was based in Indian values yet was oddly independent…. Yes yes she had values but she was also helping support her family. She was smiling through her pain and humiliation because she wanted to keep her family afloat…. And an arrogant, handsome tycoon… who was hopelessly being attracted to her…. The more he fought it the more he fell in love with her…….. like a moth to the flame….. and then he couldn't hold it in anymore……. He just got weak for a moment and they almost kissed…. And I was hooked….
Boy we have come a long way………………..
Do you know I think this is the most aptly named show because really I ask myself (especially these days) after I invest time in watching the nonsense dished out to us iss pyaar ko kya name doon?
How did my journey start with india forums was I came across a Doods post and finally had some clarity for the confusing behavior of the leads then I became a silent reader…. Filling my days with the opinions of others Tant, Sandy, Nymph, Anna, Red,Jhalak, Koel, and all the others…. Honestly, the description of the show made every scene made more sense almost….
And before I know it I was being roped in…. I realized that the makers of the show as well as the channel had no idea what to do about this group of vocal tv followers…. (more likely they were thinking how can we monetize this opportunity) occasionally they would make statements that would really tick me off…. But then one day I couldn't hold it in anymore and wrote down my thoughts….
I remember my first piece of praise from Red it was when I wrote about my favorite character Anjali, on the day Arnav returned home after being kidnapped. And then there was Sandy….. what can I say about her…….. she plucked me out of anonymity and into the front page of the Redux thread, threatened me to write everyday and I did…….. until it didn't inspire me to write everyday so I went to the weekly, but now that it has become a chore too… alas I bid adieu to my writing days…. As I fade back into the silent reader world I just wanted to thank everyone for their encouragement, love and support…
I understand completely the PH, CV's and Channel to some extent don't know what to do with this show the values that go with it…. Really they are in uncharted territory here……. Who should they please and how….technically they are giving us what we wanted an Arnav and Khushi centric plot yet why are we all saying something is amiss….. it's just not deep enough…… why because we are used to a layered show. I mean come on, I needed to tune in to read how different people thought about the same scene….. that is called depth…. What do we have today…. Khushi is insecure with the entry of Sheetal and Aarav…. I mean how many people's post I'm going to read that states just that! Is there the views from the different members of the family NO! is the the struggling sister trying to pick up the pieces of her life………..NO! is there a Mami who finally gets a glimpse of what it would be like to have a polished, high class bahu…. NO!!! all we get is a kid who is supposedly 5 (really a 5 yr old saying what the…… what value system are you promoting buddy) act like ASR and that makes Khushi insecure…..
My first question……….. ASR let go of his past to come on his wedding day to rescue Khushi………… Khushi did not listen to anyone and stayed there waiting because she had so much faith in him……….. and together they pulled Anjali's life from darkness….
Was it the best plot to test their faith in one another???? Not once did Khushi say……… no how can this be true……… he would never do this????
My second question…….. in the this Arnav and Khushi show…… why bother with the extra cast …… they actually enrich each scene so much more…. Think of the tick tick one scene with Anjali in the haavan…. Can you not give us a story line for them…..
Guys I hope this is not sounding like a rant……… because it isn't ,for a rant there needs to be anger right now all I feel is disappointment……
I know that it is hard to satisfy everyone in the audience…………but at this moment it is imperative to dig deep and find the answer to the question……what was the USP of the show……
I hope to give you my insights on this so that when you go to your drawing board you have something to think about………..
I believe it isn't just a love story…..it is the angst that drew us in…… the pain ……….. that kept us rooted to one spot ………… and the mad passion that got us to write about every single second in great detail……
So once Arnav and Khushi finally got together what did I expect to see……….. I did expect that it would slow down……… but I really wanted to see an adjustment phase…. Yes I wanted to see comedy but the last Diwali type comedy done tastefully and in the right dose…. I wanted to see Arnav and Khushi trying desperately to hold Anjali together… And Anjali trying not to but falling apart anyways…..
I actually like the Sheetal angle……… the fact that she is everything Khushi is not would have been lovely start to the conversation of a forward looking plot…. But this addition of this kid who really has no character except to be junior ASR not the best decision…. Let me remind you what made ASR work was Barun and his royal hotness….so really we did not need to see a junior ASR…. Just because another show introduced a child artist who is much loved( let me remind you that there are only a few child artist who are remembered….. Mary kate and Ashley and Maucalay Culkin but they are few and far between!)
And the fact that Anjali doesn't even get bonding time with Arnav is just plain sad……
So I understand that you are trying to write a show that will please all…. Well let me just tell you to stop it now….. go back to Arnav and Khushi…….. and who they are and why they do things…. And then write your story………… if there is no progress in your characters the international audience who tuned in for some Indian masala with logically growth ………… will tune right out…. See for me and the rest of NRI population we are used to much more than daily soaps…….for example right now I'm very into a show called "once upon a time" long story short the show is about fairytale characters……….. and yes the evil queen who gave Snow White the apple is a biggest baddest villain there…. But ever so often the show gives us a glimpse of who she was before all this happened…. The innocent girl who had to harden her heart to survive….. and ever so often she is given a chance to true redemption and I am often left wondering is she going to take that chance…. There is always a hope…………… and keeps me coming back... so a character is not good or bad it is how they react to a situation that makes them good or bad in the eyes of everyone else...
And with that I will like to ask you to go back to your characters concentrate on them not the story you are trying to tell us and you'll come right back to the path……..
I hope I have been of assistance to you and I certainly hope you will force me to come back and write here…………
Obviously this is not goodbye…….like I said I don't know why I will still watch this show…….. after all iss pyaar ko kya naam doon ? I ask this question to myself after I write an observation for the show every single time……
I hope you have enjoyed my work…..today and other days………….
And that ladies was my two cents…..
Lots of Love

I wrote the following post without actually watching today's episode...But from today's episode I almost felt the story being reigned in... The highlight for me... was much beyond the Rabba Vey it was the carefulness with which the subject of Anjali was handled... Khushi was annoyingly cute ... and Arnav still needs a haircut...lol ...somethings never change ... but yes there is hope yet...Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?
