Whether we supported this track at the beginning or were against it, the unanimous reaction of the forum is that Arnav and Khushi are looking like strangers to most of us right now.
How we perceived Arnav
Arnav Singh Raizada had a dark past and as a result of that he became a loner. He was thrown out from his house Sheesh Mahal by his uncle along with his sister. His life revolved around his sister and his family, he established a business empire with his hard work. He was ruthless, arrogant, snobbish, did not believe in destiny or love; a win at all costs kind of man. He had girlfriends before, we have seen Lavanya, but we also witnessed that she was more like an arm candy at the beginning. They were dating but there was no emotional attachment from his side. He was always distant from Lavanya and only began to really care for her after he met and fell for Khushi and softened. So it's not surprising that he had a girlfriend called Sheetal, it's not surprising that he is being nice and friendly to her now and bonding with her son. What's surprising is if says he went out of his way to do things for her, as in let her win basketball matches. He may have dated her, interacted with her, but his sensitive and caring side was restricted to his family. It's surprising if he is suddenly shown have to friends (he let win basketball matches) because he was burdened, damaged and brooding at that time. If he never went out of his way to do things for Lavanya, then how was so compromising for Sheetal? We thought Khushi was the only one he let win, because she is the only girl who made a special place in his heart.
How we perceived Khushi
Khushi has always been bubbly, chirpy and little crazy. But at the same time she was loving, caring, sensitive and a devout lady. She is naughty, childlike and plays pranks yet she can be mature and sensible when needed. She was always shown to have complete trust on her loved ones, so much that she refused to get up from the mandap when everyone else believed Arnav had ditched her at the altar. If a woman can much trust in the man she loves to this extent, then why should she go on investigating even after tearing the DNA test report? The lady, who used to talk to Devi maiyya whenever she was troubled, was not once shown to share her troubles with DM. Its fine if she worried Araav is Arnav's kid, but there are better ways to address the issue. She consults the angel and the little devil sitting on her shoulders, listen to devil's ideas and gives excuses to DM and unethically read someone else's diary. It's like she's hell bent on proving Araav as Arnav's son. Why? The shocking part is that she dressed up as a peon and went to Araav's school to dig up information. The Khushi we know would never do that. If she's worried, we hope for some introspection. We love the funny, fun loving, crazy Khushi but she is not the comedian of the show. We want to laugh with her, but we just don't want to laugh at her expense.
The problem with this track is that it's shaking the very thing we love. Arhi. We are not able to comprehend their actions and their behavior. Some fans were against this track, some decided to give it a chance. After last night's episode and the precap, almost all of us are disappointed. From the story point of view, it's not possible to make Sheetal and Araav disappear suddenly. However, we wish this track would have a logical end and as long as it continues, we hope that Arhi's character sketches would remain intact and the rest of characters would react to the situations logically.
Once something is done, it can't be undone. People, who have been watching this show, have developed an understanding of these characters. We are educated, sensitive and sensible human beings. We know Arnav and Khushi are fictional, yet they are very close to our heart and we feel a connection with them. It's not only the cvs who know these characters, fans know them too because we are watching them for 1.5 years. 😊
We know this is a daily soap, people work day and night to give us 22 minutes of entertainment everyday and we understand and appreciate that. We don't expect to see brilliance everyday but we just hope for some consistency in storyline and characterizations. Tracks should be suited to the characters; characters should not be altered to suit tracks. This is exactly what is happening in the show off late and if so many people are complaining, something must have gone wrong somewhere. Arnav and Khushi have been changed and we barely recognize them now. We just want some balance in the show, we don't want something extraordinary every day, but keeping the balance would keep us content.
Deep down we all hope for some real damage control which will erase these memories. 😳
UPDATE: My prayers and good wishes to everyone affected by Sandy. Stay safe.
