ASR is a character that was portrayed as a very focused, dedicated man, driven by goals and achievements. His goal before he met Khushi was only to be successful and remain at the top of everything he did. Woman was not his subject of interest. During the college time he couldn't be having any flings as it was the time he would've dedicated fully in building himself as strong as possible for the future. At that time his wounds were very fresh. So It is unlikely for him to spend any of his precious time on meeting his own physical desires. That was never his priority. Again when he was indeed successful his focus became his family. Lavanya was his so called girl friend to whom he hardly paid any attention. She was more like an employee who was allowed to come a little closer to him. But that closeness was never reciprocated. The decision regarding Living in that he made was just to defy Nani and nothing else. Remember he had no plans for a live in relationship before Nani knew about Lavanya. We were shown that ASR was stubborn. He can do anything to get what he wants. But when Nani disapproved of them sharing a room he hardly argued. If his intention was to have a live in relationship and to have physical intimacy he would've never agreed. ASR was never shown as a womanizer.
Now about Arnav to accept Arav as his son he must have had any physical relationship with Shital:
As per the spoilers Arnav was never confronted by Khushi regarding the paternity or her suspicions regarding Arav to be his son. Khushi will be confronting Shital and not Arnav. Khushi will carry on the DNA test without Arnav's knowledge just to get the truth out from Shital, Again she will be confronting Shital, Arnav is still out of the picture. Now once she gets a positive DNA report what Khushi will do? Knowing Khushi she will go to Shital------->make her admit that Arav is Arnav's son--------> Bring them to Shantivan to give Arav his right. This is the point when Arnav will come to know what has been cooking behind his back. Arnav will confront Shital. Shital will make up a story like it happened at the prom night when he was drunk and as it was the last day of college Arnav didn't know about Shital being pregnant. Khushi will suppose this story to be true and leave for Gupta house. Arnav will still not believe this and will try to bring back Khushi. Khushi will refuse to come between a family. This will irk Arnav and he will vow to bring out the truth by himself.
Notice one thing: It is clear to us that Khushi will indeed believe that Arav is Arnav's son. But if both Arnav and Khushi believed this then who will bring out the truth? Arnav will never believe the claims of Shital and this time he will be the one to expose the truth.
