Khushi remains true to her character! The sanka devi who loves her family, who loves to bring joy to them, to do something special on their special occasions!!!!
So it is no wonder that she wants to do everything in her power to make her Arnavji's birthday memorable! She wants to give him every joy that she can...and no one can stop her from doing that...even if the "devil" is her soul mate himself 😆
Anjali is worried for Khushi..For she knows khushi is very emotional, she thinks,feels from her heart..And so she wants to avoid the heart break her chotte's anger will cause her...She tries her best to make her understand...but sanka devi toh sanka devi hai...how and why will she!!😆
Khushi is confused at first for she cannot understand how can anyone NOT want to celebrate their birthday! She completely believes that once-in-a-year occurrence of this day ought to be celebrated with full vigor...and here, to her "horror", her husband doesnt even want to be wished on this day!!
She is still very confident that maybe pre-marriage-Anjali's chotte could have been like this. But her Arnavji would want to celebrate it this year..specially when its the 1st B'day after marriage...
Her husband wants to speak to her privately, she is elated at the affection she hears in his voice...She is confident he will not ask her to Not celebrate it this year...but to her amazement and disappointment, he does exactly that!
She is baffled at his calm manner of not being excited for this, at his declaration that the day he was born into this world, is just another day..
But No, Not for her!! She is indeed disappointed at first but her resolve is intact..If he wants it like that, she will give him like that... till the time he concedes that he also wants, what she wants...😆

She wants to take his suit measurement! The man is a "beast" because he can read her every move, gauge her every reaction and basically just knows her in and out 😆!! The only way she can succeed in her "Suit-Naap" mission, is to trick him into believing that the only thing she is thinking at this minute is him, the "gabru-jawan" who makes her feel that she is the luckiest woman in the world...his broad shoulders that can carry any "boj", the hands which can defeat Salmaan Khanji, the arms that can give her solace...And when he is ready to just do that, she moves away, taking with her the measurements and chanting the slogan "mission accomplished"..😆
The scene reminded me of the time when an Angry and khadoos but a jaw-droppingly-dashing ASR had ordered khushi to take measurements of another sets of Gabru-Jawaans in his office and how cleverly she had made her "bhaiya" take them and she herself had just noted them down...
So, she really has the skill of taking measurements...like for real!!😆
The morning dawns and she wishes him good morning but doesnt give greetings for his Birthday... She asks him to go to office... She makes a very routine breakfast consisting of bread-butter... she hands over his phone to him smiling sweetly at his puzzled and slightly angered face... She strolls in his office and gets him the lunch box that he has forgotten at home... She serves the daal, roti and "Karela" ki sabzi ...Doesn't even forget to give him a "Hazma" goli...on his return, she is absorbed in SK's movie trailer...she even refuses to accept a cake sent by someone as she "knows" he does not like to celebrate this day!!😆
And during all this nautanki and the pretense, she is just dying to wish him...All she wants to do is hug him, tell him Happy birthday, give him her wishes with the promise of her undying love and finally see him smile and happy!...
But she has to do this...as much for him as for herself...When this woman can risk her life for her man, ye to bahut choti si baat hai!!😛
She, however, smiles throughout as she knows she is silently winning this battle...she can see he is getting affected by her acknowledgement of this day as "Ordinary"..and she has got him exactly where she wanted him to be!! At a place where he accepts that he is just like everybody...a body with a heart, with emotions, with feelings!!😳
I loved the epi...because of Khushi and her antics...the sweet gestures and the firm resolve behind that..and I get it that why she wants this to happen so badly...
Arnav says this day is ordinary, but Khushi knows it is not. How much ever he says it, she knows otherwise and she wants him to accept that...she wants to see him accepting the wishes of the family, celebrating the day he came into their lives...and more than that, she wants to make Him feel special on this day...make him live those moments which he has perhaps missed out on...She just wants to give him everything he could cherish in future...some memories with his family..with her on his side...😳
Arnav is initially glad...When he sees Khushi ordering sweets wo bhi "bina shaakar ke", he knows it is for his Bday...but because he has to stay true to his character and his belief-system, he tells her politely but firmly to not do anything he doesn't want to.
But he knows her too well...the Sanka devi who stole his heart is an innocent lady...Oh yes, def...but she is just as determined as he and a force to rekon with when she is in her element!
Her taking away his suit doesnt miss his eye and he can easily connect the dots. When he is sure of her intent, she throws him off guard and he innocently falls into her trap! He is caught in her words and without knowing, hands over the 1st game to her!!😆
I loved his "ok...come here now"😆😆...when she is almost hugging him! Loved the smile that crosses his face then..But bechara...he wants to hug her and she is touching his feet one minute and running away in the next!!
The bright Sun rays make him open his eyes and he sees Khushi..and the first thing he wishes for is her wish...and to know the plans that he so vehemently denies wanting to know!!..😆 To his disappointment,not only she fails to wish him but reminds him about his office...and what follows is a long day..filled with confusion, bafflement and steadily increasing anger...So much so that a sheepish ASR is forced to remind Akash about his Birthday!😆 ...An unfamiliar feeling washes over him as Akash very politely tells him that he remembers his bday, but is not wishing him as per his wishes...Arnav at this point is confused...for he is now realizing that he is looking forward to the things he has always run away from...And thus he reminds himself of his resolution of not making a big deal out of this day..as though reinforcing the belief that this is what he wants...
But the "horror" continues and no one wishes him the entire day..and he just cant take this...Specially from Khushi...His anger rises by the minute and he is a volcano waiting to erupt!!
**Ah, such a treat for the eyes**😆
Other little points to ponder:
- Akash bitwa got some dialogues today! Thank you CVs for these small mercies.
- Payal is gayab...I wonder why? and where?
- Liked mami's small one-liner " Arnav bitwa ka anger dekhne se to achha hi ki sunny deol ka anger dekhein"...😆
- Also liked NK's reaction to Akash's "last badhaayi thi"...That was very natural!😆
- Kaunse boss ne cake bheja?? 😆
- Loved Sanaya today! She ruled the epi.. Barun too had his moments..but I couldn't tear my gaze away from her! She was brilliant!!
- *Drool ve Alert**...How dashing did Barun look in that morning shot?? Oiyee!!
And I loved the epi...for the simple reason that Arnav, who does not want to celebrate the day, is finally realizing that deep down, he wants to..All his life, there was no need to do it perhaps...but now, he has Khushi in his life and wants to feel loved, feel special, feel normal...because, well, he simply is!!
And I loved the epi for the fact that it is Khushi and only khushi who can make him feel the way he may "think" he would never feel...But eventually he does!! Only khushi who can make him want the things he "feels" are insignificant but in reality they are as important to him as any body else!!
It is Khushi and only khushi who can make him want the things she wants him to want for himself!! 😉 And I cant love her enough for that!!😆
The angry burst of emotion from a certain Raizada is scheduled for tomorrow!! Tighten your seat belts for we are in for a hellowa ride!!
