yup! hope BS weighs his pros n cons properly before he makes a decision, and like one reads in many articles a BW carier is no cake walk and more over BS's fanbase is no doubt huge ( teenagers) but that alone does not make a boy office hit. Personally I would wait a year and check out the outcome of MAMR and how it is recieved by the audience.

What does SP have to lose in all of this? Just about nothing. They have about three shows on the verge of launching (24 frames next, Khamoshiyan and SLB's delayed project) and another two on the way, there's news floating around on other forums. If Barun stays and TRPs are good, IPK runs. If Barun leaves and TRPs are good, IPK runs. If Barun leaves and TRPs aren't encouraging, IPK shuts down and channel launches another show at its time slot. Its local audience are a lot more important to SP than international fan-following. If IPK shuts down after this SPL event, will they not have future SPL events because their current most popular couple are not there? Did they not have SPL events before?

Agree with your thoughts on PH, Sobti and SPL event. Idk what will happen, I didn't like any of the actors before IPK happened (except SI) and I have nothing to do with them after IPK. (unless they come back with something good later) IPK over, my fangiri over.

I also loved SI and started watching IPK just becoz of her but the fact is that KSBKBT paved way for sass bahu sagas but IPK changed the norm and started the trends for love stories, which is why SP is so popular with youngsters. So with no IPK, the channel loses its maximum revenue coz IPK gets more for SP than even DABH and SNS and of course popularity.

Barun is not leaving the show! If he was going to leave then why did he recently sign a new contract with SP?

Yes, very true...SP earns a lot of revenue and gains immense popularity through IPK. Barun and Sanaya are their top actors...do you think SP will let him walk?

Same here, I started watching IPK only for Sanaya. Have to disagree with you here, SP's sister channel Star One always had the trend for love stories, it just got shifted to SP later. Star One's shows had massive popularity even at the time of the show's closure, TRPs brought the shows' shutdown. SP left the trend for saas bahu sagas way back in 2008, it was social issues before love stories bloomed. I doubt IPK gets more revenue for SP than DABH and SNS no matter how much I want to believe it, investors look at TRPs before sponsoring shows and advertisements. If IPK was so important for SP, promos and main sponsors would never be so irregular. In the last few months, promotions have almost been ignored and sponsors have changed twice. International revenue is a different thing, and it's also a fact that international market doesn't even make up half of the local market.
I still maintain that SP has nothing to lose here, SP may go even as far as thinking if IPK can become so internationally popular, why can't their other shows?

See in the end I don't know how does the economics work out for the channel but all I know is that UK's TRP would be counted now and if that happens then SP will surely keep IPK on air with or without barun coz new show will definitely take a few months time to garner the same revenue as IPK does for them.

@ TM - Good post.
SP and PH have nothing to loose.
PH have other shows earning them revenue and so does SP. Its only Barun who looses his popularity and fan base in case if quits midway.
I am kind of sure that SP is lying about Barun not quitting because of the UK trip and one cannot really blame them as money is what counts ..this move will hardly cost them as they know people will come back and watch other shows . They are irked so many fans of other shows too by closing down shows but fans will find other shows to obsess about.

The same holds for the PH also.
