Well, i am at a incubation of strting my won Software Firm about Mobile Apps on Iphone,android and iOS. the first project have outsourced to a company and probably 6 months from now, will make it more interms of office space and hiringetc!!!

LOL... this is something I know about and have been to many dialogues where this is being discussed... I'm shocked when I hear about the budgets consumer packaged goods spend on social media budgets... it is such a serious thing...

For example more people know go online before they buy a product... even if it is a product under $10.00 so what does that say about trial...

Here the PH has an amazing AMAZING opportunity of engaging their online audience... I would even go to the extent of rewarding their online audience... for example JK ROWLING gave a shout out to one of the blogging websites in the last book... can you imagine the pandomonium on the sight...why did she do it because that website was part of keeping the buzz going and JK ROWLING is a marketing GOD!!!

Very simple things that they can do is telling us online why a character did what they did... for example when Khushi got Shyam back... see the online audience is way more connected... these nuggets needs to be shared with only people who want to be connected... growing the buzz...

But just like everything, you can't please everyone... but not engaging in social media is like shooting oneself in the foot... especially if your show is killing it online...

P.S. this take some business tips from Ekta Kapoor the woman runs an organization that is worth 132 crores 10 yrs back I don't know what is it worth now...

See this stuff I can talk about but the dissection of an episode... is completely new to me... well I guess, thank you for the appreciation I will continue.

First... did you just imply that you don't need to be on social media... because it doens't help us... (palm to forhead)...

Second... social media doesn't help us garner TRP's... ( yes you are absolutely right... but there is an upheavling of Online viewership... the only thing missing is a method to calculate how many people watch shows online... everyone across the globe knows this... and every marketing research company has $$ spent in trying out techniques to do jsut that... so basically you are investing in your future)

Third... This is a business buddy... it pays to know not just what works now but what will work in the future... for example... if miralously tomorrow there is a way to measure online viewership and then you realize that your show rules... you know how many viewers you have to launch other shows...can you imagine your negotiating power...

Finally... everyone one gets their hands burned with social media...from the multinational corporations... to movie stars and designers... so don't be alarmed... apologize and move on... you learned something today... use the lesson rather than going back to the way things are done...

P.S. read the book...Who moved my cheese? I've studied business my whole life so I'm going to give you a casestudy...around the world newspaper readership is declining... but in India it is increasing... does that mean that mobile news networks shouldn't invest in India?

Because mobile networks are also increasing tremendously... so because of the population TV and TRP's are always going to be important...BUT ... BUT ... BUT...

It is not going to be the only way to evaluate success...

You have a bigger strenght at the moment a very strong international audience... kindly stay ahead of the curve... and hire a business manager... who will be able to advice you properly on these kind of decision...
