On the whole an enjoyable episode that focused on Arnav-Khushi relationship, Shyam's suspicions about Garima, support from family members for the lead pair and the wondrous and joyous celebration of Haldi ka rasm with the teasing, laughter and fun from both families. Let's deal with the unpleasant stuff first and then get to the meetha (sweet) stuff, ok? Enjoy.
Lustful Shyam
Any doubts that Shyam is still lusting after Khushi? He seems to have a dual agenda; to further his sister's plans and also to get Khushi. Somewhere long back, he crossed a line and it's become like poison now and he continues to hanker after what's forbidden. So, what best describes him as far as Khushi is concerned? Shall we refer to Lord Krishna.
indriyani mano buddhir
asyadhisthanam ucyate
etair vimohayaty esa
jnanam avrtya dehinam
"The senses, the mind and the intelligence are the sitting places of this lust. Through them lust covers the real knowledge of the living entity and bewilders him."
Bhagavad Gita 3.40
Ok, there we have it. It's like a purdah of lust has covered all Shyam's sense of judgment. So, what does he do, he seizes only the wrong path. He already knows Arnav and Khushi love each other and ignores it; he also conveniently chooses to forget that he himself is married and HOW WRONG IT IS TO OBSESS ABOUT ANOTHER WOMAN and he's doing it right in front of his wife and videotaping Khushi, what to say of this guy? If his past is true (sorry, am not doubting Doods here), he truly knows the pain of one woman who lost all. He also knows Khushi hates him and loves Arnav totally. So, it's ok for him to take away things from Khushi and cause her pain just to further his own agenda whereas the people who took things away from his sister should be punished at all costs? Talk about double or triple standards here. But, there you have it, about Shyam.
Earlier, when he tortured babuji, you think Shyam was still thinking of his sister and the fear of being caught is what made him do the atrocious act(s)? Somehow I don't think so. It looks like he wanted to marry Khushi no matter what and that's what drove him. You see, we always have a choice and Shyam could have handled babuji in a different way (don't ask me how, that's for the brainy CVs to think about), but he chose to go the wrong way. His compounding sins will come back to bite him. Today, when he saw babuji giving him dirty looks, he said "Hey Bhagwan, kahin yeh buddha koi gadbad na karde". Of course, this buddha will definitely bring you down one day. We also saw how NK and nani don't wish to talk to him anymore. They truly know what he's like and gave him the cold shoulder, who can blame them. So, that's definitely the 3 pillars of strength right now on Arnav and Khushi's side.
One thing we have to give to Shyam is, lust or not, he will not forget his revenge😆. He's so perceptive to notice the changes in Garima's persona as soon as she hears Dadiji's name. It won't be long before his quick mind connects the dots (wonder why CVs are suddenly making him such a smart villainwa). He and his snooping, will it lead him to Garima's truth that she's desperately trying to hide? Shall we wait until tomorrow?
Question: When Garima told Shashi ji what Khushi told them about Shyam reforming and things being ok now, I was confused. Didn't Arnav specifically tell Khushi to beware of Shyam? Why would Khushi tell her family something different? I wonder if buaji had a change of mind too about Shyam? Hmmm, somehow I don't think so.
Also, who on earth would lust after masi's daughter? Hayee, Shyam calls Garima as masi and is lusting after Khushi? How horrible that sounds.
Garima's mistake
We all make mistakes and usually end up paying the price, big or small; it's only natural. A fool keeps on making mistakes and never learns, an intelligent person realizes after making a mistake, but a wise person tries not to make them, correct? Yes, Garima is a wise and virtuous woman who knows right from wrong and good from bad. But, she too made a mistake in her past. Let me divert a little bit to Yudhisthir and then get back to Garima.
Yudhisthir in Mahabharat: I've mentioned in my previous posts that Yusdhisthir, the eldest of Pandavas was considered the wisest and he was the upholder of dharma. Did he break any rules at all? Yes he did. He told a small lie at Krishna's instigation right in the middle of the Mahabharat war. To make his guru unarmed, he used his guru's weakest point and said 'Ashwathama died,' in a loud voice and then 'an elephant' in a whisper. So, his guru assumed that his son died and gave up his arms; that's when the Pandavas took advantage and killed him. So, did Yudhisthir pay a price for his lie? Instead of being taken to Heaven directly, he was first taken to Hell (I guess for a quick look) and then to Heaven; this was the price he had to pay. The law of nature works the same for all beings, wise or otherwise.
Let's come back to Garima. The torture she's going through, trying to hide herself each time dadi's name is mentioned, trying to come up with excuses to postpone the meeting, her constant fear about how the truth will affect her daughter's marriage and her guilty feeling of hiding things from Khushi etc., are all these any lesser than being in hell? She has no choice but to go through all this and only then will she emerge victorious. Shall we wait and see what truth she's been hiding and how she comes out unscathed?
How sweet it is, to be loved by you
When you fall in love what do you do, you savor every single moment with your lover and every chance you get, you want to spend with the beloved. We saw Arnav trying to kiss Khushi (ok, ok, got it, it's her palm) and once again, they are interrupted and brought out of the reverie for the haldi ceremony. They can't take their eyes of each other, keep staring to make themselves believe, Is it true? Is this really happening? We are going to be together forever. Hmmm, can't wait for it to happen. How much longer? Their silent exchange is stopped and this time it's a sheer dupatta that's separating them. They can't believe this is happening and are disappointed, but it's ok, that'll not stop them.
Yes, she's the chand ka tukda and he's the suraj; very much the opposites that are strongly attracted to each other and totally in love. Something that struck me is that when it's time for Sun to shine, the moon is still in the background, but we just don't see it. Similarly, when it's time for the moon to show up, the Sun takes a back seat. There's no question of one taking precedency over the other. They both exist and give each other a chance to appear at the right time. Isn't this true about Arnav and Khushi too?
Arnav is not letting go. The way haldi is applied to Khushi is the way he wants it too. Aahh huh, the rituals must be followed to a T and no half measures for him. Yes, a very healthy competition it is on both bride and groom's side (just loved Buaji's idea of handling the suraj, arhem, just put sunglasses on Khushi).😆

Once again, all fades away and none exist in their world, except the two of them and their inner happiness and contentment is reflected in their constant smiles. The ceremony is over and Arnav can't wait to get Khushi all alone to himself. They have some unfinished business. But, how to get rid of these dupatta holders? Some quick thinking and he scares NK saying buaji is behind him and tells Akash that Payal is alone, so make good use of the time and then in one smooth move, before Khushi can even guess his intentions, takes her hand and goes off into the la la land. Precap seeing and we all
If looks could kill
IMO, the star of today's epi is none other than NK bhai. He's funny, he's a steadfast friend, he's loyal and he's very very perceptive and will not tolerate Shyam's behavior and will keep a watch on him too. What more can we ask for, from a friend, right? Arnav and Khushi are indeed extremely lucky.
